We've signed some real clowns over the last few years haven't we
Would hardly cut it in the championship

I want to know how this guy has been made a left back. Whom decided he'd be best in a position where you need to be good at defending?

If I was Fabio I´d be dog peeved that I was gonna be released while a clogger like Buttner was getting games ahead of me.

Was put in the shop window and managed to lower his valuation even further. Those fecking stepovers are doing my head in.

Had one good moment when he blocked off Diame, blocked the cross and managed not to concede the corner. Other than that, shite.

Just don't see what he brings. He's not even a "good going forward" full back. He's nothing. Would probably tear it up in the Championship, or a lower level top flight in Europe. He's got a bit of pace and can dribble, but he's not really got much else.

He's a left winger masquerading as a left back. That's so blatantly obvious

fecking terrible defensively, was about 3-4 yards behind the line FFS.

Wasn't that bad. The deriding is getting boring now, it's just classic mob mentality.

Very true.

You would think people would rather focus on other things after one of our best performances of the season, but I guess not.

You can tell he is being coached by P Nev....those stepovers are embarassing.

Did you not see the goal we conceded? He's just awful. The sooner he's gone the better it will be for us so moyes doesn't get tempted to give him a chance.

He was entirely responsible for the goal. If a sunday league player held a line as poorly as he did, he'd be getting a bollocking. It's simple stuff. If anything, in a situation like that, a full back should be a head of the two centre backs anyway. Why was he so deep?

I was at the game. The whole back line fecked up. Fair enough we were playing the offside trap but Smalling and Evans just let him waltz past.
I wouldn't say its the whole defences fault. They are all in a line like a normal defence, and buttner is standing 2 meters behind them playing cole onside. Entirely butt mans fault.
It's basic textbook defending.

They played him offside, meanwhile Buttner was still doing air stepovers from his latest "attack".

He's so ridiculously, brutally shite it's beyond belief he gets minutes in a United shirt.

Bad mistake to cost us the goal. Totally switched off. The guy just can't defend well and is generally a liability at LB right now. It is fairly clear that he is more winger than defender when he is on the pitch.

Brain fart for the goal but he's not as bad as some make him out to be. I'm glad we have him.

He just isn't good enough for Manchester United. At least not at left back.

Rather Fabio get minutes ahead of him because Fabio has potential to be as good as his brother.

That's the point of the offside trap. You let the overenthusiastic striker waltz past into an offside position. Buttner wasnt upto speed though, wasnt even close to the line.

Eh, the rest of the defence played the offside trap perfectly, they didn't feck up at all.

The golden rule for a full back is to step out when your centre backs do. Its quite a simple procedure the offside trap.

I genuinely question paceme's understanding of football if he thinks a backline playing offside apart from one moron who stands miles behind them with his head up his arse points to the whole defence as being to blame. It's fecking schoolboy stuff. The defence stays in a line, if a player runs beyond your centre backs he's offside. It's incredibly straight forward.

Why would they track Cole? THEY'D be playing him onside then.

They took way too long to realise what was going on, they were complacent. It was mainly buttners fault but who gives a feck? Welbeck scored again, janujaz got a great goal, jones had a top game and Rafael is looking back to his best but instead let's talk about buttner fecking the offside trap up a couple of minutes after he came on.

If you were at the game, I'll presume that you've not had the chance to see replays of it. The other three kept a perfect line, with Cole behind them - exactly as they should. The goal was 100% Buttners fault.

Looked alright going forwards - there's a decent mid-table left winger in there somewhere.
