Ander Herrera to PSG? | Gone.

I'd give this more credence than others.

Mitten has good relations with Herrera. Pretty sure Herrera was one of the rare United players who have given an interview with UWS.

David McDonnell: "Manchester United are refusing to be held to ransom by midfield stars Ander Herrera and Juan Mata....Herrera is understood to want to more than double his current weekly wage of £120,000-a-week, while Mata, on around £140,000-a-week, is also looking for a significant hike to extend."

Herrera is worth 120K max. Mata is worth nothing. And De Gea isn't worth 500K if that's what he's asking.

That Sanchez contract was sure a big mistake.

Peak Herrera under SAF would have been at peak Keane level (or slightly lower). Fergie used love such players.

No way. More similar to peak Darren Fletcher. But, I do rate Fletcher highly at his peak and he was in EPL team of the season once at his best.

Agree that Fergie would love Herrera type of player though. After all, there were reports he was on our radar while he was still in charge.. Seems Ole also does, so hope this is all bs.

We need Herrera tied down asap. He's a great player who's leadership qualities should make him our captain imo.

I guess Herrera can see that we're a sinking ship.

One thing after another really, it's looking likely we'll lose De Gea and Pogba either this summer or next, unless the board shows unprecedented intent to challenge at the top which means all our best players will be rightly questioning their futures at the club. Luckily for us, we haven't got many more entering their peak years yet!

Big summer needed ahead which i'm not confident at all of the club handling correctly.

They should go then and hopefully the club won't give in.

Hope he extends but won’t have any negative sentiments if he leaves. One player who gives everything almost 99% of the time. His quality might be questioned but he was always giving his best.
Presume you’ve never seen Keane play.
What a statement.

Wasn't it the sun to first report this? I'd be gutted to see him go but I doubt the papers have a clue.

if we're getting an upgrade I won't be too fussed. theirs other midfielders out there we can replace him with that will improve us tenfolds. verratti/eriksen/rabiot/thiago etc.

With a new RW, RB, CB and already another CM. We could do without spending money on his replacement.

No matter what you think about Herrera, he's one of our best players. He's our constant big game player.

Brilliant business by PSG to get him on a free to be honest. Our massive loss.

They usually pickup a player from the team that bounced them off the CL.

fecking cnuts.

Oh well.

Two of those we've got no chance of getting, one is a possible, and I don't think Thiago would fit personally.

I'm baffled to see so many people on here talking up us going for Verratti and Eriksen, clearly great players, but it just ain't happening.

Sounds like the agent wants a longer contract than we are offering. Or may be we are in for Rabiot and PSG are mischief making by offering Herrera a contract.Seems like the last player who would want to leave.

I would be in the "Not too bothered if we can get a replacement" camp if we didn't have a complete buffoon like Eddie making deals for us.

It can definitely happen as Eriksen is in the last year of his contract. 60m-70m would be too tempting to let go even for Levy.

it's all on the glazers and if they want to show ambition. we can buy all those this summer. maybe only a one CM so 4 signings is doable. we bought 5 players in one summer for LVG . its a pity his contract was allowed to run down because he's a valuable member of our squad but if we replaced him it's no big loss. a big if.

there's also rakitic. after de jongs move someone will be getting forced out in their midfield perhaps we could entice him into a move?

I'm happy to let him go along with others I.E Rojo/Mata/Darmian/Pereira/Matic as long as the board are prepared to invest in replacements. Neves/Ndombele/Eriksen should be midfield options we look at.

Unfortunately given how incredibly stupid we've been in the transfer market for years I imagine he'll go and we''ll end up with Mctominay playing 30+ games next year.

Eriksen is 27 and has been severely underpaid based on his performances for a while now. We have geriatric bench warmers like Young/Jones on more money than he is. He wants to get paid and we can certainly do that. So I don't see why it would be an issue.

He'd rather sell him for a penny to a team in Estonia than sell to us.

Just like Berba and Carrick.

Ander's one of only a few players that understand what it means to play for the club, I don't see him leaving unless those at the top really balls things up in negotiations.

Aye those very recent transfers

Eriksen will go to Real or Barca, can't see him being interested in coming here.

Most average players get 100K+. Value of currency is anyway inflating. Of course if you compare what a common man makes then yes its very high, but in terms of footballers salary its peanuts.

Herrera is a workhorse, high energy and an instinctive player who has been completely misused by Moyes, LVG and Jose. I don't see any reason for him to stay here.
I like him and will be disappointing to see him go. If Manchester united can pay completely done player like Rooney 6-year contract then 240k is peanuts for Herrera.

Crossed my mind that PSG are doing this just to piss us off because they're so bitter about the Champions League. They have the money and the owner took it personally. Logic goes out of the window when you're a rich man's plaything.

Herrera loves the club so hopefully he tells them where to go. He's still far too good to be playing in a retirement league anyway.

Or they are interested in a good player who is currently free? It may or may not happen but there is a very simple a direct reason behind a potential interest.

He did indeed, Mitten is the most reliable regarding Herrera for sure imo. Really don't understand people losing their minds, it's a tactic regularly used now by agents to get a better deal for their player and everytime the Caf falls for it.

I do think we'll eventually come to an agreement and he'll renew but it does make me wonder how we got to this point, I wonder if JM was happy to see him leave at the end of the season so didn't mind him running down his contract. We already need a new CM/DM, losing Herrera would mean we'd have to sign two in one window which doesn't seem like the best use of our budget with more glaring weaknesses in the team.
