Manchester United's 19-year-old winger Anthony Elanga was targeted with vile racist abuse after missing a penalty against Middlesbrough on Friday night.

What is wrong with people ?
 
Predictable as hell. As soon as he missed and I’d sighed because we were out, my mind immediately turned to the shit I knew would be flung his way. It’s such a shame it’s so expected.

I think we've already for some time reached the point where people on social media doing it just to take the piss. Knowing that it will lead to headlines.

Don’t give knobheads on social media the air time. An incredible amount of people are simply there to play the cnuty troll behind the safety of their keyboard and absolutely lap up the people who get offended.
Why anyone thinks it’s worth highlighting or discussion time spent on it blows me away, you’re giving them exactly what they want.

Even so, those feckers need to be identified and brought into the spotlight of being shamed publicly. Let's see how they would react when being identified as a racist in the open results in being suspended from their jobs, sacked from their jobs, or even dragged to prison (if police can trace a long history of criminal racism).

Wasn't there something in the news today that said they're going to stop abusive sm posts and that fb twitter et al would be fined if they don't remove the offending posts?

They are not "football fans" and as a sub section they are sub human. Hopefully some of these vermin will be found out and then they should be banned from ever attending any sporting venue again, once their 20 year prison sentence is up.

Reacting after the fact though. The people still get abused.
until such times as users are forced to post under their own names this will continue to happen

Very depressing, but even more predictable. When it was him that missed the penalty I just knew this was going to happen. It would have been nice to be surprised though, but I guess that’s asking too much of society to not be racist pricks.

Seems a bit of a stretch to imagine a state is paying people to racially abuse footballers in the UK. Same with the media, given the grim predictability means the story has less impact.

It's just cowardly racist pricks who get off on the attention. FB or twitter should release their IP addresses.
