What does he need to do to be dropped? Appalling

Well lets think about this for a second... His main rivals for that position is Nani and young. Ones on his way out and the others always injured. I would rather play welbeck out there but I guess SAF wants a out and out winger out there

He has done well.. the slip at the beginning came after a poor touch. but since then he has done pretty well..

and everyone complaining about his getting games needs to understand he is in there for a reason. He helps the full back. he stretches the game and creates space in the middle.. all that when he is having a bad game. On decent days, he puts in 3-4 great balls in as well.. and on great days, he can tear fullbacks a new one..

He hasnt had any great games recently, but he'll still be playing...

What?

That first 20 minutes was as bad as it gets unfortunately. Improved a bit as it went on but it's still a far cry from him at his best.

He's become an absolute embarrassment. He clearly doesnt even believe in himself anymore.

Why he keeps getting picked God only knows. But no other top club, or manager, would choose Valenicia over Nani. If he starts next season as first choice I might cry.

There's absolutely no urgency there to take on his man anymore. He literally just stands infront his opponent for a few seconds, before passing it sideways. Either that or he puts in about one decent cross out of 10.

He's pointless at this stage.

Valencia's lack of willingness to run at defenders is the most sad and most hard to understand development in his game this year. Its like he's forgotten just how much pressure he's capable of applying to defenders if he just gets his head down and runs at them. Weird.

I'd rather play Jones or Rooney wide. Heck I'd rather play Jones at RB and Rafael wide than watch Valencia feck up every attack down that side. It's painful to watch especially as we know how good he can be

All our wingers do that. Even players who aren't actual wingers do that(Kagawa, Welbeck).

I think Robbie Savage summed it up pretty well, and I recall he was a massive Valencia fan back in his best days.

"Antonio Valencia has no desire, he's not as dynamic as he used to be. He looks as if he's feeling sorry for himself."

He's turned into quite possibly the most boring winger I've seen.

He has been awful. I'm getting very worried about his future here and if he'll ever get out of this bad run of form he's had.

I'm not worried about his future with us at all. He's still starting nearly every game, despite playing as shit as a footballer of his level can possibly get.

who's that guy who said he wouldn't get in the wigan team? He's right, he's abysmal, not even championship level at the moment. Still deserves another chance next season though, hopefully the break does him good.

He has been absolute garbage again, even more frustrating seen as he started the game in a fairly positive manner against his old adversary. The thing is Ferguson keeps picking him....so maybe he thinks he is doing enough to please the manager. I find it quite bizarre and I really hope Ferguson invests in a skillfull, versatile attacking playmaker a la James Rodriguez for next season.

United need more variation in the wider areas, more creativity and general balls to do something different and inventive....perhaps Zaha can make an impact I'm not sure. The dross served up by Valencia and Young this season is far from United standard, particularly when you consider the class that has gone before them.

The problem with Valencia is the longer this malaise continues, the harder it will become to return to the form he desires.....look at Torres ffs.

Fantastic again today. His form has really picked up recently.

I know he was far from our biggest problems today but he was absolutely diabolical.

Fergie must still see something that the rest of the footballing world doesn't.

Apparently he's playing with a slight niggle? I think he said that in a recent interview, or maybe I have made that up entirely.

If it's true it's a shame for him that as soon as we won the title the three other players we could get to play in his position got injured so he can't have any rest time.

If I was Hernandez I'd look at the way some players get to start week in week out regardless of how they play and think its time to leave United.

Another dreaful, dreaful performance. But what choice do we have other than picking him? Ashley Young is injured, and is a shithouse of a footballer anyway, and Nani has been playing even worse! We have to pick Valencia because we have no one else.

He didn't last the full game, we're making some progress.

Absolute dogshit today. He has been given quite a few chances to redeem himself this season but continues to look absolutely lost.

I think we'd be better off in a 3 striker formation. Chicharito deserves to play over him.

What a useless player he's turned into. Hope he's gone in the summer because there are no signs that he can get anywhere near to his best again. You can count on one hand the amount of okay appearances he's had all year. The vast majority have been an embarrassment. Should never have gotten the number 7 either.
