cant remember seeing Cole getting raped like that! Superb performance.

Brilliant performance today! Got me thinking though, if this lad had a left foot aswell, he'd be unplayable, at the moment its as though everybody knows what he's gonna do and they still cant stop him, because he always goes on the outside to cross. If he could cross on his left aswell, he'd not only be unplayable, but unpredictable.

Fantastic today. Any time Cole looked to get forward he was tracking the run and covering the space the ball would have been played in to which narrowed Chelsea's play without that width he gives them. And then he gave Cole so much trouble when he was attacking as well, even though you know he's putting it on his right he couldnt be stopped.

Has he actually gotten better during his absence?

He doesn't seem as quick but he definitely looks stronger and his decision making and link up play has improved ten fold.

Probably tuned up on all that while he was out, and I'm sure the pace will be back next season too.

'Valencia's not really capable of 9/10 performances'

I am one of the people that said that (kind of - that maybe is a quote from someone else), brilliant game, kudos to him and thank goodness for him. But, still think 9/10 from him won't be that often. Don't need it though, he is reliability and consistency is what makes him such an important player. Manager knows what he is going to get, much like Park.

Lets not ruin a brilliant day by trying to call out people.

To be perfectly honest it got to the stage where he blatantly started taking the piss, he was deliberately stopping encouraging Cole to tackle then started nutmegging him/skinning him at will, it was a joke of a match up really.

Nothing new though, weve all seen Valencia own Cole time and again with us, both attacking and defending, Cole must hate the sight of him.

Completely neutralises Cole going forward and tears him apart attacking him. He's Cole's nightmare player really.

I'd say that is pretty accurate, if you pull off Valencia's skin you would reveal a T-800 exoskeleton.

It's amazing the way Valencia is basically a less skilful, less tricky version of the player who used to be on our right wing yet repeatedly absolutely fecking pwns the one and only left back who always kept Ronaldo in his pocket.

Thing is Cole does the same thing to Nani. Valencia doesn't bother with the trickery, but just plows through them.

That tells you what relentlessness can do. Valencia is like a battering ram hitting a door.

He and Park booked their places in the team for the final after today. Nani will have to settle for the bench, I imagine.

The best thing about his game, for me, is is simplicity. He'll play the right ball every time. When he's on the ball you know that he'll do something sensible and valuable and that is an invaluable asset in any player. At points last season I thought we'd overpaid but he looks every bit the money we paid for him, at least.

Aside from the obvious too, he's actually quite good with injuries in his career and has an admirable level of fitness.

I think he has shaken off the pressure of being "Ronaldo's replacement" and has started to believe he is worthy to wear the jersey. He is more confident. He takes on defenders. Head on. He used to just try and run pass them and square it in or turn back and pass it back if he couldn't. Now he intimidates them. He was so far up Cashley's butt, Charmins is taking notes!

Valencia coming back from injury has changed how we've looked and played this season.

Beast of a player. He absolutely toyed with Ashley Cole today. Amazing stuff.

He had Cole on toast today. Had he not been injured this season we probably would've won the league a couple of weeks ago.

in-your-face is exactly what United will need against barca. they'll be that way with us and we've got to return the favor. he and park will get the start in the final on the wings.

Imagine if he had a left foot?! He could be Ronaldo/Messi-esque?

He's got twitter doesn't he? Why don't all of us tweet quoting him, firstly praising him about how good he is, but then also telling him that his off-season objective will be to develop a proper left foot.

I'm sure if enough people tweet this he'd get the idea....next season, roll on the two footed valencia...better than messi and ronaldo, just doesn't smile...ah..the power of social networking tools...

Ah heck it, whilst we're at it shall we tweet him to smile more too?

i just wonder what's wrong with his left foot. i mean he must be able to make a short 10 yard pass with it. I mean i can ping a 30m pass with me left foot and I'm not a pro. So what's wrong it? will the foot just fall off? does it hurt him? did he promise something to God or his wife? I mean there must be a reason!

I does use his left foot when running to control the ball, just isn't very strong or accurate with it, I'm guessing.

And he's such a likeable cnut isn't he? not that should make any difference.... but yeah, I love him.

Maybe it's the fans down near the touchline. Whenever Nani plays there he looks like he has the hump. I think it's either that or they're both worried about being near the possibly cancer omitting electric ad boards.
