Barclays Premiership | Sun, 21 Jan 07, 16:00 | Emirates Stadium

Thought id make this thread early :D

My team would be: VdS, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Ronaldo, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Rooney, Larsson

Im going with a 1-1 draw Fabregas for them, Larsson getting the equaliser

Pay-back time I dearly want a win and end their slim title hopes.

Same team except with Saha in it, his pace would be excellent and much needed.

Saha didn't look too sharp when he came on today...I'd prefer Larsson in there.

Im not sure, if they play Senderos then it will work better with Saha I think. Also it would compliment our counter attack with having Ronaldo Rooney Giggs and Saha running at us. With a weeks rest I think he will be ready for them, who knows though.

rooney should be dropped for this one atleast, saha and larson to start...

1-2

ronaldo vidic

think its going to be a tight one - a goal either way deciding it, i dont think its going to be a high scoring game

Same team with Giggs coming in for Park. Don't mind Larsson starting ahead of Saha.

I would be happy with a point if the Chelsea cnuts draw or lose their game against the dippers the previous day.

For me its like this, Rooney has looked on worse form then Saha so if it isn't Rooney and Saha to start then I think Larsson should play ahead of Rooney.

The difference with rooney though is his work rate, regardless of his attacking contribution this is always very good, cant say the same for saha.

I hope so bloody much that Rooney could make a goal, MU need it and he need it...
But it seems like both arse and we are in good form atm, will be a great game however IMO.

Hopefully Rooney will score, he needs it and it would be nice if he would actually be challenging Ronaldo for the Man Utd player with most goals in the premier league, being a striker and all. I love Ronaldo to pieces but he's a midfielder so he really shouldn't be our top scorer, I have absolutely nothing against him having scored 13 goals, but one of our strikes should have scored more...

I agree.

As things are, the team selection sees to itseolf with the exception of the forward line.

If it were up to me, i would keep faith with our leading strike partnership just a little while longer. Though Saha and Rooney have been in a bit of a lull recently, i still believe that they are the right choice for a big game like this.

As for the score, it's going to be another one of those tense encounter but hopefully we will win out. 2-3. :)

If they play, i reckon Saha and Henry will get at least one each.

Larsson has to play, he did so well against L'arse in the CL final.

Also, Ronaldo to score the winner. :)

If we beat them this could another big step to win the title, because Liverpool can have their revenge and beat Chel$ea.

The question is... Park who's improoving or Giggs ? Unlucky Rooney or Saha ? 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 ?

I think Fergie got a plan to beat them but we need a fully fit defence to secure it.

tough game, tougher than when they beat us 1-0. their finding their form.

I'd love it if we break their crappy unbeaten record at the Emirates...

Tough call about who to start between Larsson and Saha. We looked wonderful with Larsson for the first 20 minutes or so vs. Villa, and Saha didn't look good at all when he came on. But if you don't start Saha, you'd really be fuking with his head and that could set him back in the future.

My team:

VDS

Nev Rio Vidic Evra

Ronnie Carrick Scholes Giggs

Saha Rooney

Subs: PIG, Brown, Heinze, O'Shea, Larsson

Tough call with the subs as well, would love to have Ole in there maybe at Heinze's expense? But that is sort of asking for trouble should anything happen to Evra. I really don't wanna see O'Shea at LB.

2-1 United (Cesc, Giggs, Saha)

:D

I'm pleased that he is going to miss the game

So who knows what will happen....at least I'll be there

Which was some rough justice since i at least didn't think it was a sending off offence, but then that's Savage for you i guess. Shades of the Beckham/Simeone incident about it but i digress. And i think we'll take the outcome.

As for next week, there's bound to be a host of chances, neither team is going to flood the midfield or try and make it a right battle, at least i dont see that being the default approach. The two best footballing sides in the country, will quite simply, go out there, and try to out play each other. The game has much promise, great potential, i just hope that we rise to the occasion. For whatever happens, we should not want to be looking back and saying "if only this" or "if we'd done that" e.t.c.

United 4 - 2 Arse

United: Giggs (18'), Ronaldo (54', 58'), O'Shea (89')

Arse: Van Pussy (8'), Rosicky (36')

Park will have an argument with Van Pussy in the tunnel. They'll have to be separated by the referees. Park will shout at Pussy "I will see you out there you mother fecker!"

No one is mentioning that Fabregas might not play also, he was carried out with 2 tons of ice on his leg.

1-0 rooney scores... great way to break out of his slump by getting a 2nd half winner against ARSEnal... lets end their slim title hopes!!!

out first game at the new stadium isnt it ..

shud be fun ...
0-2 win for us ..

will score early .. will sit back and then JOS will come on and chip it from the half way line :D
