Arsenal v Man Utd

Park must start, you might want to consider giving Rooney a rest too.
:D

I want Rooney on the bench, and play Saha-Larsson, but won't happen. Rooney will play even with an injury....But I would go for Giggs instead of Park, Giggs-Ronaldo on the wings are great :)

How will the Arsenal team be?

Henry RvP
Hleb Cesc Flamini Rosicky
Clichy Kolo Senderos Eboue
Lehmann

Adebayor is a great player, but doubt he will start on sunday?

Piss game boys & girls
same team as last wek only with saha in place of larsson, if he's fit.
we have a better midfield than arsenal, better defence than arsenal and better attack. were playing better football than arsenal, and all their players are sissyfied to the bone.
people go on about how they beat us at Old Trafford but i seem to remember Vidic, VDS, Giggs, carrick, park not in the squad. ronaldo wasn't playing as good as he is now and we weren't as confident then as we are now.
i say 3-1, 3-2 to United. rooney, scholes, ronaldo

Oh..and to those delude Arse fans on that forum   "we'll beat them 4 or 5-0"

Deluded Arse fan on another shite forum
Yeah I agree Clichy will do fine on ronaldo especially if ronaldo keeps playing the way he has in the last few months by using his pace and power to get past full backs instead of the tricks he used to do which clichy would have struggled with,in a straight up race clichy will beat ronaldo and nearly every winger in the world. But if ronaldo gets the party tricks out clichy will struggle but ronaldo is too thick to know this so im not worried.

ronaldo is going to rip arsenal to peices and if they think clicheys gonna stop him:lol:

from the newbies...

"I heard from MUTV that SAF is using Saha and Park...
And that he will let Ole and Giggs to rest..
Check it out..Because I'm not so sure.."

That should shut the Park haters up if true, maybe SAF has been reading this forum and wants to prove some of you wrong.

if he was going to rest giggs this game, why didn't he play against villa, dont make sense and it's probably bullshit, giggs will play on sunday bar injury, i can guarentee it

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie is set to miss Sunday's Premiership showdown with Manchester United after suffering a knock in training. (The Sun)

VDS
Gaz Rio Vidic Evra
Ron Carrick Scholes Giggs
Roon Saha

Hope a good result for us

I think Park will be up against Clichy until Giggs comes on, Ronnie will be on the left

Theres a really interesting article in the Times today & if you don't normally buy it then i would say it's worth getting a copy just for this article. Anyway's on it you see that a lot of the Gooners play is concentrated down the right hand side of the pitch & the left is very exposed. For me that means that Ronaldo should start on the right with Gaz supporting so we can really go at them down that flank. Because of the extra defensive responsibilities i'd start Park on the left with Evra as i think that could help counter a lot of Arse's play & then you can save Giggs for later.
On the Rooney side i'd say it seems likely that the back 4 for Arsenal will be Clichy-Kolo-Senderos-Hoyte (Eboue is struggling with injury) and for me that's not a physically strong line-up. Rooney should get some joy out of them & we've seen him kill Kolo before. Partner him with Saha for the pace & the two centre-backs will have something to worry about all afternoon.

VDS
Evra-Vidic-Rio-Gaz
Park-Scholes-Carrick-Ronnie
Rooney-Saha

Very tight game.

Ronaldo does still do the tricks, as well as the runs

Clearly he's not.

He has massive potential and will match Ashley *spits* Cole eventually. Cole had Ronaldo in his pocket on many occasions (League and International), I dont see how Clichy wont be able to manage, he has the pace at least and should be able to counter attack.

But if Ronaldo's on the left, then he'll have a good match-up in Eboue (granted he's returned to action). Hopefully Ronaldos defencive game isn't on check.

The game wont be won on a piece of Ronaldo brilliance. I'm sure it will come down to whether or not someone can step up and take on Gilberto's roll effectivly enough.

Someone dig up this comment after the game finishes. :smirk:

Hehe.

We'll it's just my opinion. Ronaldo doesn't usually play well against us, at least not at the level he's been playing at lately. Hopefully the precedent continues.

Remember the famous 4-2? ;)

I cannot wait for this! Usually, Prem games must be streamed here in Canada, but we get the Sunday games on the tube. Cannot fecking wait, how is it only Thursday?

I hope we play:

-------van der Sar-------
Neville--Rio--Vidic--Evra
Ronaldo-Carrick-Scholes-Giggs
-----Larsson-Rooney----

we really need to press arsenal and get in their faces. when we have played on the front foot at a high tempo we have been sucessful against arsenal.

at OT this season, it was horrible, a 4-5-1, sitting back, and effectively playing for a draw! Without Gilberto, they will have a very lightweight midfield - we have to take advantage.

I wouldnt mind a draw, it´s going to be a hard match.
i would, but it's going to be tough but i have a feeling it will be a great game with a few goals, they're gonna attack and so are we so it should be good, with the result going our way

I think psychologically a lot depends on Poo v Chavski on Saturday. I'd much prefer to be playing at the same time.

Two great fixtures and both impossible to call. Just hoping we're at our best cos any slack play and they will punish us.

Could be a massive game for Rooney to hit form again :D

Agreed, i think its unlikely both chelsea and utd will win. The results will prob be inversely related.

Of the 3 outcomes chelsea to cut the deficit
difference remains the same
Utd to extend the lead

I think the last is slightly more probable. Would you accept two draws now sacrificing the chance to extend the lead?

Rooney loves the Arse, I think he'll score. Sadly henry is also due one against us.

I hate to disagree with you but im gonna

I think its almost certain that come 6.00pm Sunday Chelsea will of cut our lead at the top.

As already stated i see us getting a 1-1 draw while Chelsea will beat Liverpool 0-1 :(

Rooney should be 'rested'.
:nono:

VDS
Gary Rio Vida Evra
Park Carrick Scholes Ronaldo
Rooney Saha

Larsson and Giggs to come on around 65th minute

-----------------Van Der Sar-------------

--Neville------Rio------Vidic-------Evra--

--Ronaldo------Carrick---Scholes----Giggs--

---------------Saha---Ole----------------

We are gona nick it 2-1 courtsy of goals from Giggsy and Scholes

Madness..ole to start? Rooney to be "rested"? rested for what exactly, our next game? I think the word you're searching for is dropped.

Yes he's not playing well but its all relative, he offers too much in too many areas to be dropped for a big game.

As for a larsson saha combo, i cant see fergie putting that out in a game this big. too risky. barring injury you're looking at saha rooney or larsson rooney. for me its saha, if fully fit.

but the thing is we also learn that Man Utd playing counter is more or less suicidal, because it is not remotely our style. Look at our loss again them this season

park has done well, but giggsy is a diamond and vital in big games like this. the reason giggs was rested vs villa was so he would be fresh for the arse (who he tends to do well against).

it's wierd, but i wouldn't be surprised if liverpool beat chelski and we then dropped points due to overconfidence.

we could be really on our games if we need a result, say if chelski have won already..

The loss against them this season was a mixture of things but nothing to do with playing counter, at the end of the day Utd are great at hitting teams on the break so i don't know what would make you think that?
Anyway in defence we had an out of form Brown & a hapless Silvestre playing but mostly we were un-done by changes to our midfield. Becuase of injury & misplaced tactics we played O'Shea, Scholes, Fletcher & Ronnie. I don't think we'll see that midfield this time round and so the contest should be far more keenly fought. In contrast Arse had basically a full team out baring maybe Henry who never performs against us anyways.

iagrE

If Chelsea win on Sat, I don't think Goonzies stand a chance. Well, maybe 17% chance.

We should play the team that has done so well in the last couple of months, our strongest team and that is:

-------VDS---------
Gary-Rio-Vida-Evra
Ron-Scholes-Carrick-Giggs
-----Saha----Rooney

Park and Larsson can come on if needed. Larsson had only 2 games so far, shouldnt get the nod instead of Rooney or Saha.

I'm not so confident about that game, nervous as usual, I go for a draw 1-1

They should've kicked Liverpool v Chelsea off at the same time. If Chelsea win, and I expect they will, it puts a lot of extra pressure on Man Utd

Eh, that's the same every time one of the best two teams play at different times
