Arsenal v MANCHESTER UNITED

It the weakest they've been since Wenger joined them. If we can stop Hleb the rest are pretty ineffectual, he's dictating their play.

we're not exactly under threat. i think the problem is our attacking set up. it's pretty much non-existent so far - bar ruud's chance.

Is Silvestre playing as a striker or left back? Some really bad positioning by him so far.

Can't believe Ronaldo hasn't been given the ball on the flanks more - Lauren cannot defend him for another 45 minutes without getting booked again

Dont think Ronnies chance was a sitter as such, but he should have done better at least.

Although theyve got more possession I think we're causing them more problems when we get the ball than they are to us when they get it, but not by much, to be fair I cant think its been a particularly entertaining game for the nuetral, whoever they are.

But, um, yeh, lets hope we open out a bit in the second half, certainly it seems like we plan to do that from Fergies talk before the game about patience, Arsenal having the ball in midfield etc., seems to be coming true at the minute.

Reyes is such a cheat, it's really sad, how pathetic he is.

Toure got hit by a magic elbow, probably Essien again, the cnut.

O'Shea has confirmed my worst fears, in that he's somehow got worse from the last time he played, yet again.
Giggs and Silvestre arn't exactly helping the cause, criminal amount of ball wasting

As an attacking force we've been pretty poor but it's probably more the way we have set up.

The game has bipassed our central midfield.

Could go either way, but we need to do more up front.

We need to get our foot on the ball a bit. Fletcher seems our best hope there. Halfwit Silvestre ius driving me mad, fecking awful.

Ruud is having a top game though, working so hard.

Looks like Reyes is going to go down at every opportunity - his dive when Giggs ran next to him was shocking - even rivalled Vieira's

a bit too critical IMHO.

Same reaction from Giggsy too, standing over him. Hopefully someone took a photo of it.

Agreed - they're quick passing is certainly pretty smooth, although they do seem to come to a halt when they reach our penalty box. Not sure if that is through our defending our their mistakes...

ronaldo's chance was lack of experience i think.

he could have smashed it with his left. it would have atleast forced another save from lemon.

Is Caf painfully slow right or is it just my comp? I want to know before I destroy it.

We look more likely to score when we get the ball in their half, we just haven't done it enough.

A step up of pace is required in the 2nd half. Get the ball to Giggs and Ronnie...

Agreed. Do that and we are fine.

Considering we are playing with no midfield, we are doing OK. Disappointing to see that we defend too deep mostly, though Arsenal seem to have lost momentum towards the end of the first half.

The highlight of the match before Ronaldo's miss was T Howard sitting back on the bench after the VDS injury scare. Pretty ordinary first 45.

Oh, and Reyes is a disgrace for Arsenal FC, the little ponce.

and.. we're losing the midfleid battle in the moment. :nervous:
Wouldn't go that far. Gilberto is snuffing out our attacks but I'd hardly say we're losing the midfield battle.

We are however, seriously missing a central midfield force to truly take the game by the scruff of the neck. You could say the same for them as well.

I can see this game being won be either side by a sneaky goal.

Our problem is our two best central midfielders are both out

agreed, but i'm expecting more from giggs and ronaldo to help build the game. thank feck arsenal have lost that edge in attack. they're passin the ball beautifully, but they have not breached into our box often enough to score a clean cut goal.

there is not much penetration from Utd.The wings are really been closed down. Its like we are playing in a limited amount of space but arse are really using it to their advantage.Boring 1st half.

That's a good summary.

For the most part Manchester United looks like they're playing for a draw. They look like they're afraid to tackle in their own end. The attack looks aweful at best.

It'll only be a matter of time before Henry figures out how to get into the lax defense if they keep playing the same.

To be fair his distrubtion has never been that great

It has has been good on occasions but throughout his career he has been inconsistant. Fifteen minutes then bring park on,more hunger and great energy going forward

Playing at Highbury, that's an understatement ;)

I thought we looked pretty good for the last 10 minutes or so. We were starting to open them up a little. I think O'shea and Fletch are doing fine against a central 3 players for Arssenal and the extra attacker might just make all the difference as the players tire in the 2nd half.

Not a great game - almost like both teams are a little sheepish that they are not fighting over the PL championship any more.

you are right about that. highbury IS the smallest pitch in the premiership isn't it?
