Arsenal vs. Manchester United

Good second half performance from us but we really should have scored. Atrocious in the final third at time. How Nani got subbed off while Valencia stayed on is something that I just fail to understand though.

We played that as if we somehow felt sorry for Arsenal so didn't bother going for it and scoring, we were much better in the 2nd half.

Dowd's a fat wanker and he had a proper shit game.

Points wasted for both teams I think. Arsenal didn't look up to much other than having a bit of pace. If we had more purpose, I think we would have won comfortably. I think Arsenal will be annoyed that we looked lazy and lacking purpose, as we didn't need to win, and they should be beating us in that respect.

Decent spectacle, but we just didn't look bothered. Nani was good, but was taken off too early. Valencia was doing the right things right up until the cross, then he just belted it needlessly.

Yeah definitely, only think I can think is that Nani was tired and having not played much they didn't want to risk anything. Valencia had a decent first half but was poor in the second half, pretty much wasted every cross.

Entertaining game, good to see us leave that diabolical first half behind, RvP has gone through the return game and scored, no nonsense points record affecting our willingness to try young ones in the last few games...

Brilliant day. And feck off Dowd, how was that not a foul on Chicharito I'll never know.

Meh. Shame we couldn't get the record but I'm satisfied with the performance and result given we're already Champions. Showed a lot that we stood firm with their early barrage and looked the more likely team to win it in the end, despite the fact this is like a cup final for them.

Hilariously, Alastair was in this thread this morning complaining about shoddy refereeing against Arsenal when we ended their Invincibles run. They were given a monumental helping hand by Dowd today - an obviously offside goal, and a cast iron red card not given. They were lucky to get a point today, helped in no small part by the referee.

Just back from the game.

Phil Dowd is hilarious - he should not be officiating at this level. How Sagna wasn't sent off I will never know. I mean, how do you play advantage in that situation? I'm glad he did, but Christ Almighty, that was bad. He's still making up for the Newcastle 4-4 cheat-fest so he owes us a few. He's too fat to keep up with play so he endlessly guesses about decisions that take place miles down the field.

Aside from that, weird game. United were awful in the first half and were really fortunate to be heading in 1-1. The reason they were was due to our poor forward play and the odd bit of really good defending. Sagna had a nightmare and basically gifted Judas an equaliser. On that note, our mascot today was called Jude. I'm sure we chose him for this game deliberately.

The second half was better from United and worse from us. We never really looked like scoring and if it wasn't for some hilarious wing play from you lot, you'd have won comfortably. I thought Valencia, Rafael and, to an extent, Rooney, were all really poor today. RVP obviously was quiet too.

I don't know whether the result was fair or not - too difficult to say. If Sagna had gone off as he should have done, it might have been different.

It was fair in the sense that you better in the first half and we were better in the second. That said I still feel that we had the better chances overall. Rafa was poor today, worst game of the season. Valencia actually had a decent game for him this season. Yes, he has been that bad.
