Arsenal vs. Manchester United

In fairness, that Henry goal was majestic but it's what you expect from a magnificent player. The Wiltord goal just hurt, so feck him.

Well, I guess it's not really what you expect - but something you knew he was capable of.

I think any side in the world would have an in his prime Henry in their side. No doubt in my mind.

Without a shadow of a doubt.

In his prime, he was as lethal as they come. Even when we're talking about the likes of Ronaldo and Messi.

Just looking on arsenal mania and this post just cracked me up.

I still remember Fergie played 7 defenders and still won 2 fukciing nil against us. And that "I 8 2 be an Arsenal fan" too. Cutnns.

 hopelessness.

Loved those games. Fabio and Rafael as wingers

This has got my blood boiling before the game. United Riley in action. Obviously biased performance. I don't know why I watched this. Wanker.

Nonsense. We put it up your bollocks, and you couldn't cope. The only vaguely controversial decision was the Rooney pen (you've benefitted from a couple of soft pens this season - it happens). Ferdinand saw Ljungberg off as last man, but if you watch carefully, your man took an awful touch and had knocked the ball way ahead of himself before there was any contact.

Some shocking challenges there for sure. 10 years ago though, we didn't quite have the same card system domestically that we do now, although a few should have merited them.

One sided videos should always be taken with a pinch of salt.

Nah, certain red card for Rio and the systematic fouling of Reyes was Pulis' inspiration.

How Neville didn't get booked for that rake down Reyes and then Ruud's stamp on Cole was ignored

It's almost a decade ago but that was a proper fecking disgrace.

Please don't let facts get in the way of perpuating a long established gooner myth

Reyes got found out in that game as evident by the rest of his career. Issue is though for Arsenal he was a much better player than the likes of Gervinho or Walcott. That's the difference here

Never got tired of hearing Arsenal fans complain about Rooney diving when they had Pires, Reyes, Ljungberg, Vieira, Cole in their team.

There's no point diving against United anyway. It's not like you're ever going to get awarded a penalty.

Anyway, I'm off to the game. Bad luck guys.

"only vaguely controversial decison"

You honestly think it was a red card for Rio? Have a look at the replay, Ljungberg took an abysmal touch and the ball went well outside his control zone.

Yes, there were some tough challenges going in, but your lot weren't averse to sticking a boot in at that time either.

Fully accept it was a dive for our penalty, but you get those decisions in your favour too. You got a soft one against Norwich recently, and Cazorla put in a shocking dive earlier in the season.

As I seem to recall, Pires put in a particularly notorious dive against Pompey early on in your 49 game unbeaten run, so you were lucky that Invincibles run ever got off the ground.

Swings. Roundabouts.

You weren't exactly saints before that game. Remember Cole kicking Ole at Highbury being ignored, or a bunch of your ugly defenders pushing Van Nistelrooy after his missed penalty. Then non-existent foul by Fletcher which produced a red card and caused him miss the UCL final. You got away with a fair few decisions in the last decade against us.

EDIT: And I like how you completely overlooked the stonewall penalty in that 2-0 game at Old Trafford. Cole on Ronaldo, just after the incorrectly given one.

Remember when they retained the title though?

I wouldn't start van Persie today. He's obviously still got emotional toes at Arsenal and all the guard of honour's been ridiculously built up. Start Welbeck up top.

Better to give him his first outing at the Emirates today, given the relatively low-profile game for us, than a fully competitive one next season imo. He will have had it under his belt this way, which could help in the future.

Emotional toes . That should be ties. Maybe once he hears the boos from the Arsenal fans he'll fully let go, but I'd still give our squad players a run out.

This fixture has lost its lustre. Arsenal need to stop being a side chasing 4th and get back to challenging for things.

I loved games against Arsenal. It just isnt the same.

They're becoming a bit like West Ham and Stoke. They see us as their number 1 rivals, but all in all we couldn't give a shit about them. (Rather they finish in the top 4 than Chelsea).

Don't forget to clap the Champions on. Ta.

That game were we ended their unbeaten run If I could watch the 90 mins of it again I seem to remember at the time ashley cole blatently sticking out a foot and taking down ronaldo in the box which never resulted in a certain penalty.

edit found it

RvP will only have to go through the motions next season when the game might actually mean something though, so best he experiences it now I'd think.

I love Arsenal v United games. Such a shame this one's meaningless.
