Arsenals chances of a top 4 finish this season

Arsenal will easily finish in the top four this season, even if they lose Fabregas and Nasri they are still ahead of Spurs - who will most likely implode as usual - and Liverpool who are, 3-4 players aside, basically shit.

Agreed as far as Spurs is concerned. Not so sure about Pool. Without Nasri and Fabregas I can see Liverpool finishing above them this season. We'll see.

They'll be top four comfortably I think. This is the same team that were challenging strongly into the final dozen or so games last season.

They'll probably lose Fabregas, but keep Nasri. Ramsey has come back looking good and Gervinho could do well. Wilshere's had the summer off. They probably have one more signing in them this summer too.

I don't see that too much has changed from last season personally. Expect another reasonable challenge for the title.

Arsenal are too good a footballing team to drop out of the top 4. They have actually added some decent players this summer, and regardless of whether Fabregas stays or goes, they will still be able to hold out a decent season in either 3rd or 4th. They always seem to have great spirts of winning games in a season, and I'm sure they will again this year

I think they'll get 3rd. City will struggle coping with both the PL and CL this year.

Also Boss, learn grammar please. "Is Arsenal"

For all them being a bottler, they're a sure bet of getting top 4, not to mention top 5.

That team possess the quality to win it, just not the right mentality. We have rode our luck on sheer determination at times, with that the arse are contender.

But to say that they're 5th is too far fetched

Agree with this.

Arsenal always play in the CL and always finish in the top 4.

City don't know how to cope. Tottenham did their best and have quite a large squad, but they couldn't cope.

I am with Boss on this one, in fact I stated on here a few days ago. I think Liverpool have an excellent chance of nicking their 4th spot. If they do loose both Cesc and Nasri I can even see them finishing below Spurs in 6th.

Arsenal are an accident waiting to happen and have been for the past 3 or 4 seasons

It's always the same old when Arsenal are concerned.

Many people write them off, claiming they'll finish out of the top four.

Some wildly optimistic (deluded) supporters of theirs tell everyone they'll actually win the league.

In the end, they'll finish 3rd or 4th but claim they are the future because they beat at least one big club during the season.

No chance - people forget how good they are at beating teams, they have good players that stem further than Fabregas and Nasri, they have good depth of good footballing players. Wenger may not be able to assemble a PL winning team but he always keeps a good standard of players at the club that will at least have a go. Once again I think people will be suprised with how well they start the season. Every year they have a very good spell of dominance only for it to fizzle out and prevents them from winning the league, but it will still be enough for them to finish in the top 4.

I think a lot of people on here are underrating City and overrating both Liverpool and Arsenal. If Arsenal go into September without Fabregas or Nasri or especially both then they will struggle to hold onto 5th in my opinion! Citeh will do better than most on here think!

I think Arsenal will be 2nd. I just feel that Wilshere, Ramsey and Song will eventually be a special midfield trio, and if RVP stays fit they've got a very good striker. I also think that Szcesneyexy is a future top keeper, while being much better than they've had in a while now, and that Koscielny and Djourou are good defenders who'll be much better this year.

Think they'll be an exciting team to watch next year, and the players that will remain after Nasri and Fabregas go will have a better mentality than the previous generation.

i think arsenal will battle with liverpool for 4th

they could finish higher but it depends upon the spine of the team i think

they need the goalkeeper to be decent, vermaelen needs to get fit, they need another CB, wilshere, song and ramsey are good midfield players and perhaps most crucial of all they need van persie to play regularly

if nasri and fabregas go they should have at least another 50 million to spend - its whether he spends it or not which is the question

if he doesnt bring in a few players they may miss out due to lack of strength in depth - the left back position looks an issue now as well - apart from gibbs who have they got

you can understand arsenal fans feeling shortchanged

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Did your near mental breakdown last season teach you nothing?

There's nothing wrong with the goalie part. Scheseveryverysnesty has a lot of potential, he's not really any different to De Gea in that respect, who is also likely to make mistakes, as we saw at the weekend.

If they lose Fabregas and Nasri they'll struggle to stay in the top four.

If they hold onto at least one of them (and whoever stays doesn't sulk) then they'll comfortably finish in the CL places, along with Chelsea, United and Citeh.

Do remember that they constantly run out of steam around late February, that is almost three months more to go. Injuries and a thin squad does hurt them a lot for the run ins. If they are to sell Nasri and Fabregas this window I can't see them doing any better than last season.

A lot is down to dalglish and Liverpool

If he makes them tough to beat and if key men perform Liverpool will threaten arsenal

Liverpool also won't have European football to worry about whack is sure to stretch the thinning arsenal squad

I can't believe wenger didn't have a centre back signed up early - arsenals transfer strategy is laughable - they seem adamant to ignore glaring deficiencies in the squad

Do you honestly think so? or is it just online bravado?

Online bravado. He was asked in a previous thread to provide proof he would bet big money on Arsenal. He disappeared as he always does. Peterstorey is very like Arsenal, when it gets down tothe nitty gritty he goes into hiding.

Up for a friendly bet Peter?

I think this is a very important season in your future. I think Wenger is hoping Nasri and Fabregas will do the business just once more before moving on and getting replaced by Wilshire and Ramsey. Personally, I think this window was the right one to ship Fabregas out, it might still happen.

We saw the deal Fergie struck with Ronaldo, one more season. he gave it his all for us and then got his move to Madrid, I reckon had he not got his move we'd have seen a very different Ronaldo the following season, much like I think we'll see a different Fabregas. I don't think he has belief in your team any more and if he feels he is battling for a Champions League spot rather than a league, I just can't see him fighting for you, Nasri will be trying hard to prove to whoever he is going to that he is worth a contract.

Personally I think you're going to struggle big time, a slow start will give you all sorts of problems.

I'm predicting 5th.

1. United
2. City +5
3. Chelsea +8
4. Liverpool +15
5. Arsenal +18
6. Tottenham +20

Hmm, I thought Ronaldo's form in the subsequent season and at the back end of his last showed that he really wasn't all that arsed at the start of it. Came off a bit like he only turned it on at the end to ensure Madrid were still interested.

Very, very poor for a lot of that season. Wouldn't surprise me if Fabregas showed similar form.

I dont know why people write Arsenal or anyone off before the season starts. Were unlucky with injuries to Vermaelen and Van Persie last year. I think if they get a good run with those two lads then a top four place is going to happen.

Arsenal will still finish in the top four, they've got much better players than Liverpool.

Is correct. I think they've got a better manager too who, despite his faults, knows how to qualify for the Champions League.

Their squad is lacking depth but so is Liverpool's. I can't see Arsenal dropping out of the top 4 and they'll probably strengthen before September 1st.

Jesus Chrsit, they do have a very good keeper in Szczęsny. Why do people keep on repeating this shite about them needing a decent goalie? :wenger:

Because they heard Sky say it.

Liverpool still have a pretty crap defence so I can't see them doing a lot, and let's not forget there really wasn't any pressure on them in the second half of last season. That allows you to play a lot better.

I'm in two minds with Arsenal really, if they re-invest the 60 or so million they're going to get from the impending sales of Nasri and Fabregas wisely, then they certainly can be up there challenging. Sczezznenhedekeky seems to be a very good young goalkeeper, Wilshere and Ramsay are two of the best young players around, van Persie when fit will score goals and Gervinho gives them that something they've been lacking.

If they can shore up their defence and sign a midfielder or two to give them a bit of added steel they'll finish Top 4 no problems, and probably above Chelsea.

I'd be extremely surprised if they dropped out of the top 4.

I think they will take fourth comfortably, but will still be a bit behind third.

There may be the argument that with Fabregas finally gone any distraction caused by the constant flirting with Barca might allow them to focus, I'm not sure its been that much of a distraction though.

Also they are going to be forced to change how they play a fair bit with not Nasri and he gone, who knows they may come up with a magical formula.

Personally I just dont see it though, I think they've left things too late to bring in any significant players and bed them in properly without it having an impact on the season.

The point about Liverpools defence is a very fair one though.

I think more than ever it'll be a top three this year, with the likes of Arsenal, Spurs and the Dippers all doing their best to throw away fourth.

I've often said Arsenal would be better off in the long run without Fabregash, but to lose Nasri too? I still think they'll be top four though because they still have a pretty good midfield, just need more quality depth now.

As things stands, I think they make it, Aresene will ( probably ) reinvest the money on Mata and at least one more. Still the bones of a good squad. I dont think liverpool will improve that much and Spurs a lacking up front big time.

Obviously could all change in the last few weeks of the transfer window depending on who goes where

They should be top 4. I can't see Liverpoo making it. New players need time to gel. Much less 18 new midfielders.
