Arsenals chances of a top 4 finish this season

I think Arsenal are a shoe-in for the top four, even without RVP. I can see AVB being a spectacular failure at Spurs and Di Matteo is in well over his head. Let's not forget he got even fewer points/game than his predecessor.

All very well signing good players but the top four slots invariably belong to the four best managers in the league. Ferguson, Mancini and Wenger are the three best managers in the league IMO, by a margin. Moyes is probably number four but hasn't got a pot to piss in, which rules him out.

----------Giroud----------
Podolski--------------Gervinho
------------Cazorla------------
------Song--------Arteta--------
Gibbs-----Vermalen-----Koscielny---Sagna

Add in Ramsey, Walcott, Ox, Santos, Wilshire

That side looks a match for any and looks really good for Europe. Whether then can perform is another matter and goals will be needed from Giroud.

Yeah looks better than last year, you could even add in others such as Rosicky & Diaby (yeah injuries and all that)

Shame we've made u infinitely stronger and ruled out any chance of closing the gap.

Picking up Sahin would be a big deal for them this season imo

Never seen him play so no idea what difference he'll make. I rate borini, though, and having Lucas/Allen available will make a big difference.

Plus their best player won't miss a chunk of the season for being a despicable racist cnut.

Now that Spurs have sold their best player as well I'd say that Arsenal's chances of finishing top 4 are very good. People seem to expect Chelsea to transform themselves from 6th place to a title contender, but I'm not sure at all they'll be any better than last season. They still haven't solved their main problem, striker, and Drogba isn't here this time to bail them out.

Decent defence, bar Gibbs, v.good midfield, decent/good upfront+on the wings.

Should also add that by all reliable information Song is going. We'll need to bring in a proper player to replace him as Coquelain is not up to a full season there yet.

Ok, so put any of your decent enough cms (come on, you always have some) and it's still good.

With Wilshere (I hope he comes back) it will be very very good. Or rather has potential to be.

This time round you actually seem to have some reasonable depth, Walcott, Rosicky, OX and co are all good players.

Agreed thats a decent team except Song might leave and that back 4 is still suspicious. Im too sure that Gervinho will keep out Ox or even Walcott if he stays.

Walcott will play on the right imo, Gervinho mainly on the left. The Ox has played all of pre-season in the middle which is interesting.

I still think Arsenal have a good chance of making the top 4. I also don't think Liverpool will be that much off the pace. Have a bad feeling about Rodgers.

At this point I think Arsenal will finish 4th, Liverpool 5th with Spurs 6th. Might reconsider the last one if Spurs seal up Adebayor before the end of the summer and get a decent centre mid in but one thing I'm confident on is Arsenal finishing in the top 4. Can't bet against the quality of a manager like Wenger.

Who do you reckon will start on the weekend? Oxlade or Ramsay?

Neither i'd say, depends on injuries etc. Ramsey's been give a while off due to the Olympics. Cazorla's been to Puerto Rico and back midweek, Arteta didn't play last week but apparently that was precautionary..

Might be 3 from Coq, Arteta, Diaby, Ox & Cazorla in the middle. Walcott, Giroud & Podolski/Gervinho up front.

At a guess i'd say Coq, Diaby, Cazorla in the middle.

His attitude is indeed spot on, but it doesn't really matter when your quality is so lacking. I like him as a person, but not as a player.

Causes problems going forward, not bad in the tackle but gets dragged out of position way too often and too easily.

If he can improve positionally he wouldn't be bad imo.

Saying he's better than Rafael is just fecking stupid, like genuinely retarded when Rafael has caps for Brazil.

That said I don't think he's that bad, he was decent going forward and never stopped gettin up the pitch.

Edit - Jenkinson that is

Also can't see Arsenal having trouble with 4th spot, I think we'll see a return to a clear Top 4 with United, City, Chelsea and Arse being well ahead of Spurs and Liverpool, suppose Newcastle should be considered since last season but can't see them getting close tbh.

We've already sent a better right back than Jenkinson on loan this summer, never mind the ones we have left (though I'd admit we're not that strong there in terms of here-and-now quality).

Basically, I rate both of them the same principally because I can never tell the difference. If he's looking positionally suspect in a game, I call him Rafael, and if he gets injured after 30 minutes, I call him Fabio. If they do both, I just assume both are overrated.
