This guy predicted the RvP transfer 4 days ahead of it being announced. Also looking at his timeline he doesn't strike me as one who's looking for attention. I can't see any other transfer tweets of his except this. He might actually really know someone at the club/insider

Well he does describe himself as "Chairman of the Board. Captain of the Party Patrol. Person."

Yep - he doesn't come across as the typical 'ITK' looking/begging for followers.

This gives me hope.

Ronaldo aside, as far as muppet transfers go he surely is number 1? Arguably the best in the world in a position and role that we have been absolutely desperate for for the last 5 years. On top of that, he's a fecking warrior, with huge character, hard as nails and loves to put himself about.... while scoring and creating.
Apart from Ronaldo and Messi I really can't see a player on his level at the moment. Having in mind the position he plays he's certainly #1. Even if Ronaldo or Messi were available at the same price I'll go with Vidal. He's exactly what we need at his absolute peak.

If Emmet Kennedy says it's on, then it's on. As reliable a source as they come.

Alastair was asking earlier who our ITK's are, and here's one right here.

Done Dealio apparently hahaha

 I loved this, btw.

La Gazetto dello Sport intorduces today's guest editor...Busta Rhymes!

Robben, Suarez, Yaya, Modric?
Vidal is better then either of them in a sense in his position and what he offers to the team. The most complete midfielder since long long time. Doesn't seem to have a weak spot.

Robben, Suarez, Yaya, Modric?

Only Modric on that list. It's basically because he's a CM. We have potential gaps for signings elsewhere but we've been gagging for a CM for so long that to get one of the top CMs in the world at the moment (and both Vidal and Modric fit that description) pretty much blows any other muppetry out of the water.

Robben, Suarez, Yaya, Modric?

Only one of them i'd put on the same level as the 3 mentioned is modric.
We have good attacking midfielders which is all toure is, he wouldn't fix the problems in our midfield.
Robben is great but he's just not on messi or ronaldo's level. If we had them our shitty midfield nearly wouldn't matter, it would with robben.
Suarez lol

The only midfielders on vidals level are either injured (strootman, gundogan), unavailable (modric, thiago) or just a completely different player (kroos)
or all of the above.

The only midfielders that I think come close to Vidal level at the moment are Modric, Yaya and Kroos. However Yaya is on the wane, although still top class, Modric doesn't have near the defensive abilities Vidal has same for Kroos.

Vidal and one pacy forward in the Robben mould and we're set this summer.

People dismissing Vidal are hilarious. He's a beast on both ends of the pitch. He's like Tevez+Hargreaves.

Modric is Vidal's equal, possibly even narrowly his superior last season, but with a different balance of abilities. He's a better dribbler and more of a game-runner, but much less defensively capable, with less of an engine. In whatever configuration, those two were strides ahead of anyone else last season.

Kroos is probably the third best around at the moment. He's so different it's hard to compare though - Modric and Vidal are both true all-rounders, whereas Kroos isn't really. He can do different roles - the AM or the sitting, string-pulling CM - but he always does one specific job in any given match.

Toure is great but not up there with that lot because he's just too inconsistent. Yes he has lots of great games and is capable of being unplayable sometimes. But those three have all been superb in pretty much every single game they've played this season, whereas Toure still has plenty of very quiet ones.

Kroos stock has risen sharply with this World Cup.

All in all I agree with everything you said. Modric can dictate the tempo and has larger passing range and skills. They can compliment pretty good IMO as well if they are in one formation. However I'd still take Vidal over Modric (if not both), just his defensive work and shooting ability is much greater than Modric.

Having in mind we have Herrera and Mata we definitely need more Vidal type of player than Modric.

With all the nonsense surrounding Yaya; if City decide to sell that big lunatic, would they then be likely to sneak in for Vidal, and blow us out of the water? He'd almost be a like-for-like replacement for Yaya. If we really are intent on snagging Vidal, I'd hope we sort it before City decide what they are doing with Toure. I can't imagine anyone else they'd look to replace Yaya with.

Being the hub in Bayern's absurdly dominant Bundesliga season can't have hurt.

Don't get me wrong, it's a credit to him, he turned up and turned it on and has earned his accolades. My point is though that the consensus among a lot of fans was that Bayern were a better side with Thiago in for Kroos and that Kroos while being a fantastic talent, needed to step it up another level, which he has.

You know what Toure's agent would say if he read that? He'd say you're racist.

they have Fernando and Rodwell, should be enough to replace him :). Vidal wont move there, didnt he say he would only leave Juve for a club with history? We could match City in nearly(CL) every aspect too. I hope we can conclude the deal in the next days.

Anyone else think Vidal is kind of like the player we thought Anderson would become? For some reason watching him makes me think of a really good Anderson

Yup, agree 100%. You couldn't find a player in world football more suitable for us right now than Vidal.

When we bought Anderson he was a pacy, flair attacking midfielder. So no, I doubt it.

Nah not at all, I thought he'd become a powerful attacking midfielder who would carry the ball from midfield but have little defensive responsibility.

I thought you were going to say something nice for a minute!

Just trying to balance the mood. You guys are too optimistic. (However, people dismissing Vidal are still nuts. He's a top, top player and he's arguably the best midfielder in the world.)

Not really. Yaya is an attacking midfielder and Vidal is B2B. Vidal is close to modric but as someone mentioned earlier with some differences.

Maybe our tactic is to not go in with a bid until it's established that an agreement exists between us and Vidal, or at least a willingness on behalf of the player to move, so as to avoid a long-protracted bidding period. Juve still won't 'have to' sell but if the player makes it clear indirectly due to expressing a desire to come to us through negotiations then it could weaken their position slightly.
