Arturo Vidal

I will be very, very surprised if we sign Vidal. We've signed a younger player who does, basically, the exact same thing. I think we're still in for a midfielder, but someone in a Carrick mould whose younger and can compliment Herrera.

I'm not an expert but Herrera doesnt do a same thing as Vidal. They're different players. We need someone to complement Herrera and Vidal's the guy.

So thats the Mail and Mirror reporting the same thing at almost the same time...well someone's been briefed.
Or the people running the Mirror website can read and are able to cobble together a story that the Mail has just ran with and post it on the internet.

Very disappointed if true especially with us thinking that £35M is too steep when we've just splashed out £30M on Shaw. Hopefully rubbish from the DM.

Really odd if we won't pay the asking price for him, as they don't get much better. Chelsea, barca, Madrid and bayern wouldn't hesitate. It's baffling.

What process? The process of agreeing another £750mil 10-year kit deal?

No more the season ticket sales, and other smaller deals no doubt in the pipeline, unlikely though as people would see it for what it is if they tried it again, was just thinking out loud really, must do less of this!

I really hope it is fecking bollocks, Vidal is the only one I really want and there really isn't any good alternative out there for him (all the good midfielders have moved on).

If it is his knee, I'll understand, but I will equally be gutted, it is really him or another year of having a shit midfield.

I have no interest in insulting people by telling them to sort themselves out over the internet so we'll just have to see.

For the record: I don't think we're as interested as you (and many others) seem to believe.

Mirror posted something along the same lines in last 10 minutes too: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...chester-united-play-transfer-hardball-3861434

Of course, neither are reputable but Daily Mail broke the Adidas news and the Herrera news. Take from it what you will.
They broke the Herrera news? The day we signed him they ran with a story that we weren't interested anymore.

Maybe Vidal has agreed to join us and we are using this to buy hime for less then what Juve are asking for, like we are doing a "Barca".

DailyMail did not call Herrera originally. They tried something similar to what is happening now.

Is Corriere dello Sport even real? If so they are reporting that we are on the verge off completing the deal

Sounds good.

Also, not saying the most recent articles are Woodward being Woodward, but it definitely could be Woodward being Woodward.

Manchester United’s move for Arturo Vidal is OFF......

I hate this, I really really do ! I was certain we couldn't get somebody like Vidal, then you see all these midfielders we could have gotten transfered and you are sort of forced to put your hopes on Vidal, than you get all these persistent rumours that are starting to convince you it is possible to the point were you don't only start to believe them but really get invested in this transfer, really convinced that is going to happen, that it must happen and at that point it is off. I hate this, I genuinely do, especially because it never ends well for us, never !

If anyone signs Vidal other than us I might have to cry =p.

I know but think Vidal to Bayern unlikely given the history there, could well just be a tactic by United to get price down as Juve have to raise some money, and probably would rather sell Vidal over Pogba, might work as nobody else seems to be in for him, does seem a dangerous tactic though.

If it doesn't go through I hope we keep Evra.

No he didn't. At least post what he actually said.
I'll post what I watched him say as opposed to the comments

A journalist is only as good as his or her sources. Mark Ogden, who many on here say is one of the most reliable said the day before Herrera was confirmed that it wasn't on. The Mail changed their tune days before that. I am not saying they are faultless, none of the journalists and or their papers are.

My god, your glass is really half empty.

Ticket season sales in a few months time? So we say we're after players now, sell our season tickets and get our big kit deal, then wait til what, October? November? Say we're after more players and sell season tickets in January?

Kroos was never a target of LVG's, we had been working on him and several other targets and he decided against him.

Vidal is a LVG target, he has been quoted over the summer praising Vidal and has attempted to sign him in the past. For the Mail to suddenly claim that LVG doesn't want him seems very suspect and a total shot in the dark.
I know Kroos was Moyes target but if this article is anything to go by something has happened. I realise it's DM but got the feeling this comes from the club.

Adidas would hit the roof if true, they've just given them a world record breaking contract and we decide to penny pinch, I would be absolutely gutted and shocked if we miss out on him.

feck have mercy! This transfer saga is making me bipolar. I'm banning myself from typing 'Arturo Vidal MUFC' in twitter search for a solid week.

Don't know what you're getting at, already said I think the first post I wrote was wrong.

What did he say then, that you watched? The transcript I read didn't say we weren't going go make a move, just that we hadn't yet.

The Herrera story was broken by the Spanish press. The Mail reported what they were reporting. They didn't break shit with the Herrera deal.
