Arturo Vidal

Is Mitten pretty much the only 'ITK' we have ?

Seem to remember most of the stuff he has said previously on transfers has ended up being correct.
I'd say he's the only ITK that seems to have sources that even the journalists don't.

Juventus have been interested in Nani for a while. But they are close to signing Iturbe and it seems they've lost interest.
I know they were last Summer but this one I thought actually died out. Hopefully the lack of news in terms of Evra's transfer means there's something here for Vidal..

How reliable is Mitten? Every says Woodward has stopped briefing the media and journalists like Odgen, Ducker so......I'm taking this with a pinch of salt.

The lack of a confirmation on Evra's departure leads me to believe we're still locked in talks for Vidal. Evra was all but completed last week.

If they sign Iturbe I'd say they've lost interest. Not sure what the delay with Evra is. It was supposed to be announced last week.

As reliable as they come. He knew of Ferguson's retirement, Van Persie's signing, Mata's signing and so on. He is the grand nephew of Charlie Mitten who played for the club, runs the United we Stand fanzine and knows people within the club.

My guess is the English press certainly aren't getting briefed. While Mitten is English and I part of the English press, he seems privy to more info than others. Perhaps his united links play a part.

The thing I like about Mitten is he isn't just trying to sell papers, he seem's a genuine fan that is interested in the club and it's history. Sure he is probably trying to make money off his reporting somehow (books perhaps), but like last time he got a decent interview with Herrera after his transfer fell through. He definitely has knowledge inside the club and was even used as a source for MUTV in the recent LVG documentary they showed last night.

I for one am feeling a lot more positive now he has said that. Clearly there is still a lot to work on, and it's a far from forgone conclusion.

The lack of Evra signing for Juve is the single thing that gives me most hope. That move made to tothe level of having its own story on BBC last week, so we know it's real, and all but a done deal... but something is holding it up. I find it hard to think what else but naggling over Vidal would cause that.

He is a United fan first and foremost. Probably the only good source that we, as fans, can look to

United We Stand is a Manchester United fanzine which first appeared on the streets of Manchester in the autumn of 1989. It was started by 15-year-old fan Andy Mitten, great-nephew of the former Manchester United winger Charlie Mitten. The first issue sold 100 copies, but it developed to become one of the best selling football fanzines in Great Britain.

He's a good one alright. Himself and Sid Lowe are two people I admire.

ArturON definately ON!!
Wow 14.5 years on the Caf. You're probably sick to death of this place come summer transfer window.

I agree with previous posters, this Evra deal has got to do something with Vidal. I hope. Can't see this saga ending quickly, going to be a long drawn out one I reckon.

Well that's good enough for me.

Why do big signings always become a saga for us? Other teams seem to identify a target and just go all in to try get them. We stand around negotiating over what is probably chump change to us. I know it's probably the right thing to do (negotiate) but I'm a muppet for this one summer only and I want my muppet dream to come true

There isn't anyone more reliable than Andy Mitten.

Woodward no longer briefing the press directly, and all lines of information out of the club being closed, are not the same thing.

Watch all the Twitter wankers who said it's off do a complete 180 after seeing that Mitten video. All the shit newspapers will probably follow that lead too after saying it was off 24 hours ago.

I think we all know we're in for him, Andy's video doesn't change anything, like he said this isn't a confirmation, we've been in for many players and many times it has fell through.

The player himself has confirmed our interest, can't get more reliable than this.

We are probably still negotiating with the agent, and once we sort that out and get some assurance that the player wants the move as well, only then will we start negotiating with Juve.

If we don't have some assurance first that the player is open for a move, then bidding for him is just a waste of time.

At least Mitten's the right way up now. That has to be a positive re: the Vidal transfer.

Evra signed a deal in LA 3 days ago for Juventus as per Di Marzio and has a letter for United fan's ready too apparently.

So don't get what's the hold up there.

I dont think so. Both parties will be interested in sorting this out asap, of course without getting ripped off but still. We have a new manager that will want to work with his full squad as quickly as possible and Juventus will have to look for a replacement. If Vidal really likes the idea of joining us then I believe this can be done pretty quick. At least I hope so.

No one except ourselves are making a saga out of it mate.... All we have heard is hearsay from ssn and a couple of quotes from Vidal himself...

Neither club have admitted anything (yet!!)

And we'll know nothing until they do............

We are all muppets, thats the fun of it!!!

Mitten is not 100% reliable but he is as reliable as they come for United related info and he won't make shit up for hits and cares about his reputation as a United source, so i tend to beleive this more easily.
