Didn't Sport Witness say earlier that Conte wanted to spend but didn't want to sell anyone, and would be pissed if they do? Juventus on the other hand were more intent on balancing the books? Might not mean anything of course that he's apparently resigned, but it could be that things went south because Juventus are intent on selling him.. Here's hoping.

This is where we get agent Moyes to go into Juve and sell Vidal to us.

When Barca appointed a new guy last summer he convinced Fabregas to stay.
Conte from what i've read in the last few months wanted the board to keep all the best players as one of the conditions for him to remain Juve manager.

Get ready for "Juventus will not be making any transfer decisions in or out until a new manager is in place."

Very interesting development .... got to be good news .... hasn't it?
Nah. Conte will be national team manager I guess and Juve will want to wait until the new manager comes in and assesses things... so another Barca-Fabregas situation.

Why would he need to resign to become the national team manager? If he's really gone, there has to be something more to it.

The manager don't have any effect on transfer dealings when it comes to Juve anyway. It's all Marotta who handles that.

This is on like never before. 2 months ago Conte wanted reassurances that Juve would transform into a club that could challenge for his dream, the Champions League. For him to resign that promise must have been broken. It could be Vidal being sold and it could be him not given any transfer budget.

  • Vidal does want to come to United, he is at a great club, but 'United are bigger'
  • Negotiations are definitely taking place
  • He does think a deal will be done
  • Though says a lot needs to be sorted out IF it happens
  • United keeping cards close to chest
Also..
  • United really want players who want to come to the club. Herrera was distraught last season, they knew he wanted to. They also knew Shaw wanted to come in January so that was important for the club.
Nice summary thanks.

Conte threatened to resign in April but according to reports from Italy he was persuaded to stay because they (board)promised they wouldn't sell any player without his permission.

Conte resigning won't delay a deal for Vidal (IF that is what's going on here).

Juve's board make the decisions on who leaves and even on who comes in, their manager is basically just a sounding board as far as their transfers are concerned.
