So when deals like that happen then things get messy. May I remind you that till the time of writing Vidal is not FORCING a move. He's happy at Juventus. Which makes this deal different from the likes of Ronaldo were he was forcing a move.

And no Juventus do not need the money. They are a prosperous club with zero debt and a football ground of their own (this may sound trivial to United fans but in Italy its particularly significant). Juventus tend to sell their top players when they reach maximum value. They did it even when the Serie A was at its top (ex Roberto Baggio) and they have no regard to long term servants whatsoever. The way they treated the likes of Vialli, Ravanelli and Del Piero is distasteful and I am one who rarely fall to sentimentality.

All well and good but where does the hate for United come into this? If they always tend to sell their best players, then do they hate the buying clubs every time, even though it is their own club who holds power in the matter and can reject any advances made by other clubs? To me it all seems to stem from the fact that we don't have a good team at the moment, so they are incredulous that a player like Vidal would ever join such a poor team.
 
I keep the tab for this thread open and refresh it once in the morning and probably once at night, and it jumps by ~ 20 pages per refresh, which I thought was insane, so I checked a few of the other caf transfer sagas of recent times and saw that this thread is currently sitting behind these in the all time stakes:

I think that they are furious because they shouldn't be in a situation where they have to sell their top player, especially to an (equally) top club which has finished 7th. I don't agree that they should hate us because till now we have played fair with them. However I can understand their anger.
 
Mata all happened very quickly. Thiago was great because he kept putting in MOTM performances for Spain U/21.

Reckon Vidal could top the lot if the 28th July date stands firm.

What pisses them off is that the Agnelli family always seem to find money for Ferrari but they find it very hard to put their hands in their pockets when Juventus is concerned. These fans has been passing from hell and back. Their team was stripped of titles, they had been called thieves, they ended up in the Serie B and their top players have left the club (Ibra forced the move by literally insulting Juventus on the media), many of whom ended up joining their rival club. At one point the stress was so high that one of the club legends attempted suicide at the club premises.

The fans has stick to them through all that mess. They waited as the club got back to its feet and in Conte they found the right manager/club legend capable of taking them back to the good times. Now Conte is gone, Vidal look set to leave and Iturbe's + Evra transfers are in jeopardy. Its only a matter of time before the likes of Marchisio and Pogba will be asking questions on why they should remain with the club.

As said, its unfair that they are venting their anger towards us and personally it would serve as a sort of payback for their sniggering (followed by the usual what about Pogba question?) whenever I mention the Fergie Babes. However I cant blame them for not thinking straight. I would be in their same situation
 
Does anyone have a link to a popular Juve forum with Italian posters ?

It seems juventuz.org contains majority of English Juve fans.
 
I think the growing popularity of the twitter thread is become a hindrance to transfer sagas. Half my muppet posts have been in there.
 
I recall a few people saying a while ago that, if we can't wrap up the Vidal transfer quickly, that we should forget it and move onto alternative targets - to avoid another Fabregas situation where we end up with a desparate deadline day flop. I said that Juve would make sure that it keeps going and going.

So, do you think we are now at that point? That we should forget it and move onto easier targets? Surely it has rumbled on long enough?

They can't keep it rolling when Vidal get's back to Italy next week and tells them yes I want to play for them.

People keep saying this, but I'm struggling to see the difference (other than getting two wrapped up early - I'm talking about the way we're doing it, not our success rate).

It's not like last summer the club came out and publicly said we were after Thiago or Fabregas. This whole Vidal saga feels exactly like those to me (though fingers crossed for a happier ending!).

Can somebody explain what is so much better this time?

That pretty much sums it up. We have already signed 2 players that the media have very little knowledge of until they were basically done. Again the British media know buggar all and are feeding off scraps, its encouraging.

If we have to wait that long, the caf is going to melt down, and this will become the first 20k transfer thread.

I'm on the roller coaster now, I can't wait another two weeks... Get the idol fecker back from whatever beach he's lying on and tell him to sort his life out - He can have a long holiday next June!

The two signings that we have wrapped up were pretty straight forward - no real competition and just a case of throwing enough money at it in terms of fee and wages, plus they are not top level players. Vidal is a completely different ball game - and this will be the first true test for the Woody / Van Gaal partnership.

Herrera was sort of out of the blue, but sort of not, as everybody knew we'd done a lot of work on him last year.
But Shaw was hardly a secret, the media were all over that from before we played at St Mary's, no? Look at the length of his thread!

There was known interest nothing else, the actual solid information didn't come out until after the end of the season and it was as good as done.

Has anyone else thought with the figures appearing to be around 35m for Vidal...a laughably low amount for him IMO but anyways...it does kinda make William Carvalho and his 40m EUR tag even more laughable!!

Journos were on it and saying the deal will go through, collectively. When you look at the Vidal saga the Brits are clueless, changing their mind every 5 minutes, hardly reliable?

Its appointed by the club, can take up to 3 says depending on the need of a consultant.

The thought of having a high energy, non porous midfield is what has me most excited if we sign Vidal.
