Arturo Vidal

He can't have direct talks or else it will be considered tapping a player. This stuff is usually handled by the agent to avoid that problem.

Agreed @Pexbo . Negotiations are definitely going on between clubs/agents, but there's really no way of knowing whether it will work out yet. That's why Vidal is covering his tracks so neatly with those quotes, in case the deal should fall through.

And you know this how?

For the thousandth time, I told you in my last reply as well. Vidal pretty much confirmed that himself. He said something along the lines of 'my agent is handling that' and 'blah blah...if the United option falls through'!!! FFS, what don't you get? Mitten also confirmed we're in talks.

If you're negative about all this then don't come to this thread. It's not that hard really.

if thats their reason, then fair enough.
Im going along with all these big money moves but I cant say Im enjoying it. We have officially sold our soul

So lets let City, Chelsea and Arsenal spend and get players like Luis,Costa, Cesc, Sanchez, Khedira and we should not spend big money because somehow that offends your sense of tradition?
We can spend and keep pace with the rest or you can get prepared for life at the mid table.

I, for one am thrilled we are finally adopting to the times and assembling a squad that is competitive.

If we were getting the money from some sugardaddy owner I would agree with you, but we've generated our own funds so why not use the cash to get the players we need?

The reasons are many.....I just couldn't bring myself to love a man who is responsible for:

Wasting my time all summer and causing a massive lack of productivity,
Causing pain to all caf brethren logging in and finding he's not signed yet,
(Just in case he doesn't sign for us) - being a potential person to cause heartbreak to our feelings,
Not signing for us during the world cup,
Going on holiday and not signing for us yet,
Not having a United tattoo,
Not being scared of Woody / Van Gaal enough to sign for us yet,
Turning me (potentially) into the Jew with his nose pressed up against the Christian families house's window glass on Christmas Day (should he sign for Real or PSG or stay at Juventus and Pogba goes to Chelsea),
and more reasons which are too painful to list here

Well if you put it that way..... :D

Obviously I don't know anything I'm just assuming it. If nothing was happening, he would have denied it. Basically my thinking is what Pexbo wrote further up the page.

Ahhh, cool. Just as I thought.

We'll get him, in fact I believe all signs point to us already having got him...loose ends are being tied up as we speak...IMO of course.

Looks like little news today

The thing i've learned with these big transfers over the years is that anything can happen extremely quickly, out of the blue.

One minute we think nothing is happening, the next that lovely yellow ticker is scrolling across the bottom of the screen on SSN!

The thing I've learnt with these big transfers is there is a load of rumours going around with nobody seriously reliable mentioning them, they peak and decline and we slowly realise it won't happen...or he joins another club.

What gets me worked up is guys like @Blair being lazy and simply saying this almost 200 page thread is based of nothing when the player himself has confirmed our interest and said he's agent is handling all those matters. I don't know what more is expected for it to be considered a genuine interest and probable transfer from our side.

What shirt number would he wear?

Woodwards just drove into carrington!!!! What the Feck is he doing. Get your ass to Italy NOW.

Atleast he is back from Australia now!

Blair can doubt this all he wishes, but the evidence of Vidals impending arrival is overwhelming.

It's okay, it's okay. He has Vidal stuffed in the boot.

Not to mention that even sploffing 50 million quid on Vidal wouldn't put our spending anywhere near to the likes of City or Chelsea when you look at a reasonable timeframe. United intermittantly spending big has always been the way we do business, from the very early days of Fergie's reign. It's not as though we just started breaking British transfer records this summer. Cole, veron and Ferdinand were the last three players who earned us that dubious honour. We've spent huge sums on individual players over the years (Rio, Rooney, The difference between that sort of spending and City, Chelse et al is the way they spend and spend and spend. Building and entire squad exclusively out of expensive imports. City came close to spending a billion quid in the first few years after their takeover! We're still a long way off that, no matter how much we spend this summer.
