Don't think those statements make any difference. He was hardly going to say he's off but likewise it wasn't at all definitive. As expected.

WHAT DO ALL THESE TWITTER POSTS SAY? DON'T JUST PUT THE DAMN TWITTER PICTURE ACTUALLY WRITE WHAT THEY SAY COS MY WORK LAPTOP BLOCKS THEM ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH!

He could have said nothing or simply say that he doesn't know what is going to happen.

Whenever this happens (a denial) it's genuinely as if people revert to someone having never witnessed a transfer in their lives. Are people really his dim or is it a fun 'Caf lark' bollocks thing?

No...he could have said ''At this moment Vidal is a Juve player. That's all I will say''

Instead he gave a reply which was the reply of somebody who 100% thinks Vidal is staying. Why? Because the only reason people think he's going anyway is from Twitter bollocks everywhere...all Twitter bollocks.

I reckon there's a really strong chance this either will or will not happen.
Just my hunch.

This isn't happening. Now I'm somehow pessimistic about this after being initially very optimistic in the morning. Crap.

Which I doubt anyway. No CL football and all that.

I still think he is odds on to come here, Ive never heard a new coach or owner start a job and in his 1st presser announces the sale of his #1 asset.
Thats like Moyes taking over and declaring RVP sold on day 1.

In the coming days you'll hear the rhetoric softening and talk of them "not being able to refuse an offer of that magnitude" and that "despite all their wishes to keep him" he will be a MUFC player next season.

Ive seen this with Juve and Zidane.... par for the course.

Looks like it's going to be Herrera and Carrick as first choice next season then.

What's more "We haven't put him up for sale" is about the weakest denial I've ever seen... I don't think anybody thought he'd been transfer listed!:wenger:

Bilbao did say Herrera wasn't leaving hours before he did but still...this seems genuine to me that this transfer is purely a bullshit rumour that has spread.

Ofc they were going to deny it, but if it was a convincing denial I would have expected them to strongly deny it like: "Vidal will be a Juventus player next season. The rumours are false/nonsense", which they didn't!

He could have said nothing or simply say that he doesn't know what is going to happen.

That would imply a deal is done to their fans at this stage and/or basically weaken their negotiating position.

They will obviously take a Not for Sale stand.

and put himself in a bad position in negotiations.

This hasn't changed anything so far. They were never gonna say that he's off. I don't think he'll sign anyway but this doesn't change anything.

But Bilbao president, Josu Urrutia has claimed new Manchester United signing Ander Herrera deceived the Basque club before sealing his move to the Premier League.

Urrutia said: "For us, Ander Herrera was a player we expected to stay at the club.

"According to what he said, Ander was delighted to be here and his only aspiration was to stay here.

I cant believe some people here.. They expected him to say: "Yeah we're selling Vidal" or better yet "we're selling him to Manchester United, all the best to him.. "
SO now he hasnt said that people are panicking and crying it's over.

Its not definite this deal will get done but from this quotes you cant say it's all over...

It's all posture especially after all the bad news they had in last 2 days.

Exactly.

This looks completely off, so I wonder who we are actually targeting. I can only really think of De Jong and carvalho that we've been linked to and I can't see us spending 37 million on the latter.

Yeah, it's probably my pessimistic self getting the best of the situation. I think unless we offer a ridiculous amount - in the line of €50m - we're not getting Vidal. They cannot possibly accept €35m or €40m and expect fans to accept that.

Then again, do they have to appease fans to sustain their business? Unlike English clubs they cannot depend much on the gate revenue etc. since they can barely fill a small stadium and struggle massively to half fill delle Alpi in the past.

But neither of them have said they want to join, so they both look completely off too!!!!!

Whilst I am usually the optimist, there is some serious straw clutching going on in here at the moment.

This looks dead in the water as thing stand - until we receive positive news that is.

It's a shame but there are other midfielders out there who we could be pursuing.
