------Kroos--Modric-------
Bale--Di Maria/Isco--Ronaldo
--------Benzema--------

It would be stupid from Ancelotti to buy Vidal simply because they have a great team with world-class players on every position. Even if they sell Khedira from the bench, who would Vidal replace in the 1st eleven? Modric? He was their best player last season.

Didn't they play 3 in midfield though? Di Maria played in the 3, so if it to be believed he is leaving, Vidal could replace him

They also want to buy James Rodríguez so i guess he would take Di Maria's place in the first team.

Looking just a few years back

--Iniesta - Xavi--
--- Busquets ---

Today this trio would be the best, of course, 3 of the most in-form WC midfielders around, but I don't think that it is really that hard to imagine better midfield.
I am talking about current midfielders. Iniesta, Xavi and Busquets are no where near what they were a few years ago as a trio. They were probably the best midfield 3 I have ever seen.

If you are talking about today then yes, I completely agree.

then there would be no place for Rodriguez.

Yes it would hard to imagine, but it is RM, and also only because people are making up imaginary formations, including ones which they never actually played in the first place.

Very difficult to see why Real would go for Vidal, given their strength in that position. But why would Vidal specifically mention Real and ourselves if they weren't interested?

New contract :(:(
He just signed on last season though right?

For someone that is "leaving this all to my agent" he seems to be talking too much.

Maybe our interest has cooled / he is looking for more money with the mention of Madrid. Seems to be whoring himself a little and I don't think that will be going down well with us.

Let's hope there is a Mitten update soon, think he is stateside so helpfully he might hear some shite to keep us muppets interested.

Bale, Ronaldo and a forward will start. Looks very much like they want Rodriguez to play "in the hole" behind the forward. That leaves two places in midfield. Modric was outstanding last year and Kroos will evidently be a regular. Khedira might stay and would play a part, but the sheer number of "stars" they have puts the manager in a diffuclt position. If the Rodriguez stories are true he'll cost what Bale did and the fans, and president will want to see him on the pitch.
If Rodriguez arrives it's a tricky one. As good as both Modric and Kroos are, I'm not sure that's remotely good enough defensively against a top side. Would probably spell the end for Isco if Rodriguez arrived too.

I wouldn't say him talking is a bad thing. Juve have sold he won't be sold unless he asks to leave. The more he talks about leaving, the better chance we have.

The Juve board need to be able to blame losing him on him wanting away, rather than them wanting to cash in. The more publicly he talks, the better for the board too, surely.

If Real are interested then that will be that. It won't be the first or last time they steal a United target, cnuts. We just can't compete with them at the moment for players. There transfer windows are hilarious. There fans must be annoyed every summer:lol:

If he ends up at Real then just feck everything.

This is it for me too pretty much. If we are indeed interested and he goes to Real then I'll never have another muppet moment ever again, because in the back of my mind all I'll be ever thinking is;

"Please don't let Real know he's available, Please don't let Real know he's available, Please don't let Real know he's available, Please don't let Real know he's available, Please don't let Real know he's available, Please don't let Real know he's available... dammit."

I take your point but I can't help but think these interviews / answers are just a way of trying to drum up more interest and create an auction. Now I'm not saying he shouldn't be doing that (from his pov) - obviously he wants to get the most cash, but from our point of view I can't see how we would be happy with him running his mouth.

If he really wanted to sign I'm sure he wouldn't have mentioned Madrid in his latest interview - and if Mitten is to be believed (which seems to be the case on here) then we will target players who want to play for Utd - not someone who is interested in name dropping to make more money.

3, 4 pages about Vidal to Madrid based on nothing really. Up to this point.

Vidal himself has 'confirmed' that Madrid are interested. It may not be true, but if they are genuinely interested then we've lost this one.

feck sakes Real Madrid want James Rodriguez, I thought that was pretty clear.

--------Kroos--Modric--------
Bale-------James------Ronaldo
-----------Benzema----------

Where would they fit Vidal in ?

No them buying Kroos is surely a sign they aren't getting Vidal, you can't buy both players unless you intend to bench one, which I really can't see, not even at Madrid.

Vidal is definitely on the move this window, bad news is it'll likely be to Madrid.

They just signed Kroos? So what that won't stop them signing one of the best midfielders in Europe. If he said Madrid are interested then that's his next club.

Your assuming they will play that formation, which they didn't last season. I'm not saying they are in for him or will get him, but you are making assumptions there mate.

They'd just do what they did before - bench Modric for a while. Classy Real.

Can't disagree there but perhaps they were interested before they bought Kroos? Obviously if they are still interested we have no chance.

They'be been interested in Kroos a fair while no? We have a chance to sign him (if we're interested) but it needs to be done now while Madrid are busy with Rodriguez and trying to offload Di Maria and Khedira.

Yup with Kroos and possibly Vidal coming it will be bench again probably for Luka. Such a waste too, but it's Madrid so no surprises really.....
Luka and Kroos are similar players so I dont know if Ancelotti will play them both. If one more mid comes first 11 for Luka is not so secure, quite the opposite.

How come he 'confirmed' it? He just mentioned Madrid somewhere as I understand.
He said he knows about United and Madrid's interest but he'll leave it up to his agent or something similar.

I thought it had recently been confirmed that we were 'bigger' than Madrid, record shirt deal, etc?

Sounds similar to kroos if they do have interest. We pretend we aren't interested in them to save face whilst Madrid swoop in.

This was always going to be one of the big problems in trying to sign Vidal: other clubs will inevitably try to swoop in and hijack any potential deal and some of them will be more attractive than us in one way or another. We have to really convince Vidal that he wants to be a Manchester United player, which probably means paying him absolutely massive wages for a start.
