Arturo Vidal

I doubt that Real will sign Vidal. Their main target this summer is James Rodriguez, which is why they're selling Di Maria. Now that they've bought Kroos, I think Khedira's time at Madrid is coming to an end. There's no way that the four of Kroos, Modric, James and Vidal will all get to start every match. Don't forget they still have Alonso whom Ancelotti has a soft spot for. Illara will probably get loaned out and I don't know what they will do about Isco. I can see them lining up like this:

Kroos - Modric
Bale - James - Ronaldo
Benzema/Falcao
Or

Kroos - Modric - James
Bale - Benzema/Falcao - Ronaldo
But then again, you can't really know for sure when you are dealing with Real Madrid. Back in the summer of 2009, I said to myself that there's no way that they are gonna buy Ronaldo AND Kaka in the same transfer window. Well, look how that turned out.

on paper that team is class. In reality i dont know. You have a lot of stars and not enough workers IMO. Kroos and modric are the same as well

James Ducker on MUTV

1 United are saying there has been no contact but the Chilean and Italians are adamant talks have taken place

2 We (Journo's) get lied to all the time.

3 I don't think it will happen but I fear I could end up looking silly.
1 is the only part that is relevant

Any half decent midfield could overrun that midfield, not enough steel in the engine room. But if they played either of Bale or Ronaldo as a false nine then they could play a midfield three of
---------Vidal/Alonso------
-----Kroos----Modric------

Doubt it. Ancelotti has always used at least one proper striker. But that really looks class on paper, however, I think that getting rid of Di Maria and Khedira will be their biggest mistake since they sold Makélélé.

I'm sure there's some Real Madrid thread in football forum where people can talk about possible Madrid formations for next season..........

Madrid can't buy Vidal & Rodriguez... one of Kroos or Modric be on the bench.

I can see Madrid wrapping this up within days once he is back from vacation.

Far, far too much Madrid worshiping going on here, yes we have fallen behind but we can compete with them in the transfer market again at last.

Adidas will have made dam sure we will be billy big bollocks on the transfer market in the coming years, the only way they will get their moneys worth is if we are winning things, and have maximum exposure.

We have LvG ,respected, & worshiped by so many, we can and will pay absolute top wages for the right players, and have gaping spaces in the first team, that is a huge draw for top players, and I firmly believe we will go toe, to toe with Madrid for the 'right' players in the coming years.

God they annoy me, and I want us to be the ones to bring them down a peg, or two, by getting some of their top targets for once.

Why are you folks trying to rationalize Madrid's transfer policy?

They've always followed the "buy now, think later" approach. I can see them going for him just because they sense that he's available even though they don't need him. I hope not though, he could improve us immensely.
Because they're not irrational all the time. And if they are on this occasion, it opens up the opportunity for us to get one of the quality midfielders they already have.

Pereyra is very close to joining Juventus. The clubs Reached agreement: € 1.5M for the loan, € 11M for the redemption. It will not be a forced redemption but there is a gentlemen's agreement between the clubs in order to make the deal a permanent transfer. Sorensen will join Udinese for € 3.5M. Then, Udinese will be Able to choose Among three youngsters: the center-back Romagna, the midfielder Vitale and the striker Donis. Udinese Their lower initial € 20M price tag, Pereyra is increasingly close to Juventus.

Pereyra has joined juve, evra is going to be final tomorrow. Lets see if there are outgoings now. Juve have spent some money, have a big squad. I hope they can loose a central midfielder to us.

1. They can't afford it (and have several areas they want to strenghten as left back, central defender and a striker)

2. Non of the players would join them, and I think they know that.

Liverpool will sign Bony, Lovren and Ben Davies/Bertrand and that might leave them money to buy one more 10 to 15 mill player.

Rodgers is smart enough to build his squad, and if they manage a CL Place next season then they can add one really quality player.

Juventus and Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal has cooled speculation over his future by suggesting he could remain in Turin his entire career.

The 27-year-old impressed at the World Cup as Chile made the last-16, causing several other top European clubs including Manchester United and Real Madrid to register their interest with his agent.

Vidal, who has three years left on his Juventus contract, admits he is aware of the hype surrounding his name but revealed a sense of loyalty to the Serie A champions that could see him remain in Italy for the foreseeable future.

"It's difficult to speak of other teams when you are already at a top club,” Vidal told Chilean media.

“I have won the Serie A title three times and I respect my team-mates. I don't feel I have completed a cycle at Juventus. Perhaps I will remain at Juventus all my life.

“I have heard about the interest shown by Real Madrid and Manchester United in me but there is someone else, my agent, who deals with this.

"Now the only thing my mind is on is that I have seven or eight days of holiday left and I want to go away from Chile in order to have a good rest. Once I arrive back in Italy I will speak to the coach and see what happens.”

Vidal, who signed for Juve from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011, has been instrumental in the club’s three successive title-winning seasons, scoring 11 goals in 32 league appearances last season alone.

But when he returns to the club on July 28, he will be welcomed by a new manager, Massimiliano Allegri, who took over from Antonio Conte after the successful manager’s shock decision to step down this week.

Old news. The muppets have already reviewed that evidence and the only inference that was drawn from that was ArturON. Oh and feck Madrid

Dont think he is going to go to Real due to the sheer volume of midfielders they have. He is giving encouraging signals and hasnt nipped the transfer speculation in the bud yet. Vidal would probably be ours for £40 mil. Carrick's injury means LVG will be dipping into the window sooner than later. This guy is tailor made for the EPL and for our midfield and would be the signing of the summer. What are we waiting for?

Oh and why didnt any journalist inquire about our interest in Vidal during LVG's first presser? I know LVG would have probably deflected the question away but still, why didnt the journalists even bother to ask LVG about Vidal?

Because they've all been briefed that of they keep their mouths shut and tow the party line they will get an inside track later on :)

At the end of the day the journalists are getting information from the source, it doesn't matter if it's completely correct right now, they're getting enough information to write credible stories that serves as great click bait. Everyone's happy.

He's going to be fracking perfect next to Herrera

He ain't coming.

If he was it'd be wrapped up by now. Biggest club in the world comes knocking, you leave your vacation early and sign some papers.

Yeah, maybe we were interested but something has changed.

He's one of the best in the world. If we wanted him, and wanted to get him signed and avoid last season's mess, it'd be agreed already, done and dusted, and he'd be sent away on vacation.

It's not. He's playing for a new deal with his comments.

He only signed a new deal recently

Big transfers don't happen in 4-5 days.

And maybe it's already a done deal but Juventus want to buy 2-3 players before Vidal goes......so they don't have to pay more to other clubs because this clubs would knew they have a lot of cash from the 35m Vidal transfer

Just remind me how long the following deals took:

Ronaldo to Madrid
Bale to Madrid
RVP to United
Fabregas to Barcelona
....

As for his new contract... he signed it the end of last year. A new long term deal that gives him no leverage over Juventus.

Sorry guys. We've been looking at this guy for a while. If they wanted him I think it would have been done.

Of course I want him here. The muppetry is epic. I'm just not getting lost in it.

A few days ago I posted in the Twitter thread that all the tweets point to: Yes he's coming.

Now, I just don't think so.

Would love to be wrong on this.

Us getting one of their midfielders is a good shout in theory but Alonso can play a bit part role, Khedeira will be shipped out to the Arse, and their starting midfield will be Vidal-Kroos-Modric. Di Maria will have to leave and Isco/Illaremendi(sp) will have to be happy with a role from the bench. It all means that we won't get any of their midfielders unless we want a number 10(Isco) or a winger midfielder hybrid or whatever di Maria has become.

If the other bits work out that way we have to go for khedira.

@malachy75@Stevomurphster@petr_hruby Down to Vidal to force a move.Vidal can double his money at United.

This guy has alot of contacts in European football

I think we're in for him but before we splash £45m, LVG wants to ensure he's spending it on the right area of the team. Shouldn't take him long to asses that tbh.

He will sign the week after season starts, for £45m. He will get the no.18 shirt as Young will be sold to Aston Villa next week.

He will be on £220k per week and will make his United debut against Burnley.
