Aston Villa vs Manchester United [13/Nov/2010]

I know what you're saying, but I don't agree about the good luck, we might not 'deserve' the draw today, but at the end of the day we found the back of the net as many times as they did, and that's all that counts.

You don't agree because you're biased, and not honest about how the game went. Villa hit the bar 3 times and should have closed the game out. Their inexperience showed and we stole the point.

Had the tables been reversed we would have said Villa got lucky. If you can't see that it's because you don't want to see it. For those of us who are honest about it, it's pretty crystal clear.

First 80 minutes was an unacceptable display of football from United. Really poor going forward with not a goal in them if they had played until midnight. Park, Berbatov were really poor. Nani didn't offer much and Hernandez didn't offer much, but he didn't get much service really. Can't see how long SAF will accept how poor this team is presently.

Great dynamic match to watch. After a good start from us, where we dominated the midfield, the Villa youngsters found their feet and started causing problems. Respect for this. Impressed by Hogg, Bannan and Albrighton. Brown and Evra had a tought time with Albrighton and Downing. Poor showing from Berba and Hernandez, nothing seemed to work for them. Hat off to the team for not giving up and coming back to keep the unbeaten run. Come on United!

Big point gained when we should've lost. Villa were brilliant, only when substitutes came on did we bother to do anything of note.

First ever time I have stopped watching a United game before the final whistle, will never do that again. Vintage stuff at the end (went back to see it after Kiko scored) Obertan looked very good.

The worst display of the season for me. I honestly thought we were staring our first defeat in the face.

Another draw isn't great, but to come away from that match with anything is a miracle IMO. Once we got back to 2-2, I hoped we could nick a winner but I suppose we should just be happy we at least got back on terms and took a point.

Just get it fecking sorted United.

Really can't wait for Rafael to come back. It's unbelievable how much better than Brown he is. If Rafael had put in a performance like Brown defensively today we would never stop hearing about how rubbish Rafael is defensively.

Page 22 of this thread is hilarious.

People actually wishing Villa score more - get behind the team you bunch of cnuts.

Some of the players out for today's game: Valencia, Rooney, Scholes, Giggs, Anderson, Hargreaves. With some of them fit, we're a better team. Given how it all ended, great result. The game overall: disappointing.

We didn't deserve anything to be fair but that's the game....play until 95mins and hope you don't lose.

How many attacks break down because of Park? im sorry but in such games hes a fecking liability and i was fuming today, he wasnt alone they were all shit but jesus christ literally every attack he gets involved in breaks down because of his inability to do anything productive, yeah yeah he scored the winner against Wolves so i shouldnt say this and hes a great player really etc etc, feck it i dont get it was the same against City the other night, everytime anything remotely positive looked like happening Park got involved and fecked it up.

Please come back Giggsy please!!!

Great 2nd half to watch.

Berbatov shouldn't be walking into the team ahead of Obertan.

Fergie needs to start making earlier subs in games like these, our midfield needs beefing up and wouldn't be surprised if he made a Jan signing.

Never say never.

We only started playing after 78 minutes though - which is a shame. Happy to see Macheda (cracking strike) & Obertan make positive impacts.

Gained a point when we should've left with zero.

1. I am sure Ferdinand would have got to the ball if Brown hadn't have done a tumbling act.

2. Obertan is looking good, nice impact.

3. Good of Dean to let Villa foul Nani all over the park.

Cracks, paper, echoes of the vermin in 08/09.

Albrighton looks awesome.

what a fecking muppet

In desperate need of a healthy and in form Rooney. What's with Carrick? Where's the player he was in 2007-08. With Fletcher and Carrick in CM why could Villa rule the roost.

Just seen Kiko's goal, what a fecking strike! He or Obertan should be starting ahead of Berbatov

The knee jerk "Macheda and Obertan should be starting ahead of Berbatov" comments.

I don't think it's knee-jerk. What has Berbatov done since the Liverpool game? Maybe not Kiko, but definitely Obertan deserves a run in the team on his current performances. Whether SAF views him as a winger or not, he's shown more attacking threat when he has played than when Berba has played recently.

Can't help but agree. Liverpool were hard to beat that season (only two losses), but too many draws killed their hopes in the end. I just hope that doesn't happen to us, and we can turn it around.

Rooney, Owen, Anderson, Giggs, Valencia, Hargreaves(?) all to come back still. Let's hope when they're back and we have a full squad, then we'll see a massive difference in perfomances.

positives : we somehow managed to get a draw and match last season's result
negatives: last season wasnt good enough.. and the overall play was really poor

Everyone needs a kick up their arse to get them motivated .. nearly all of them have spells during the game where they go to sleep. Not good enough

I'd personally forget Rooney. Something stinks about the whole situation.

Giggs and Valencia are missed. Valencia is as direct as can be but suits us to the ground.

Excellent result, really, really feels like a win that one and we're still unbeaten. Villa should have beaten us today, well beaten us but we pressured them well towards the end to come back into the game. Had Berba finished that great chance set up from Hernadez it might have been different.

You could see early on Villa were playing high pressure and we don't like that, never do. Have to laugh at some of the comments in here, many have ended up looking like mugs.

4 attempts in 80 minutes, 8 in the last 10. Why the hell do we wait till we're staring defeat in the face before we start playing!

Fergie's face is bright red, he's been having a right go at them.
