Not sure what's the situation of guys like Vermaelen or Munir so I didn't include them.

They sold Tello for 4 million euros, brought back Deulofeu for 12 million and they've just signed Nélson Semedo from Benfica for 30 million euros


The major change is of course Ernesto Valverde who takes Luis Enrique's place as manager
 
Seri still on the market, that's really the last target needed since Verratti was always an improbability

Munir > Paco
 
I read a report that Messi was annoyed Barca didn't get Bernardo Silva. I don't know if that's true but he would have been the perfect longterm replacement for Iniesta.

It's great value too, Benfica fans are angry they only got 30 million for him. Hopefully the pressure of being a starter already doesn't get to him. He isn't as reliable as he needs to be defensively but he has everything to thrive offensively with Messi spending most of his time in the middle.
 
Barca really need refreshments in midfield and way more depth. Very little of their options of the bench can change games. Over reliance on their front 3 this season will lead to more problems while Real keep making astute signings. This Semedo signing is good and patches a whole but I still have major worries for Barca in the coming few seasons
 
Reports that Verratti will be holding a press conference today, presumably to rule out a move to Barcelona which would accelerate efforts for Seri or Alli

It would be a surprise, as he has always hinted he would like to go there.
 
Deulofeu signs his contract, extending it out to 2019 but judging from his face & twitter profile (Still with AC Milan and no tweets re: Barca) there is speculation that the club intends to still sell him this summer
 
Looks to me like the great Barca team is on its last legs. MSN will still be capable of keeping them on a pedestal for the next couple years but good luck replacing them like for like. I believe in football cycles and it wouldn't surprise me if Barca go through abit of a barren period in the coming years.
 
Before the summer, there were two positions where we absolutely had to strengthen. RB and a playmaker.

We signed Semedo and I'm over the moon with that.

Now we need to sign a playmaker. Honestly, either Coutinho or Eriksen would be dream signings, but I can't see it happening.
 
I would be happy with Seri. Let's just hope that our big midfield signing isn't Paulinho.
 
Semedo was a great signing. Far smarter than Bellerin, who I don't think is very good.

Are you realistically linked with anybody else? Seri, Paulinho, Lima are the links I've seen.
 
Looks great to me. We either have the best or the 2nd best first 11 in the world. Valverde is key in all of this, like Zidane was for Madrid. Don't believe the guys who say everyone can manage Madrid or Barca.
 
I only ever saw one game from this guy iirc. Napoli-Benfica. I believe Semedo now calls Insigne "Uncle Daddy". May he have another 40 games like that :lol:

Braida used to be great for milan, and he's an advisor at barcelona anyways, not the guy in charge
 
Semedo seems to be highly rated. They definitely needed a proper attacking fullback.

How talented is Vitinho supposed to be and who is this Seri I keep reading about?

Seri is a midfielder from OGC Nice, had a good season apparently.
 
Wonder if Ernesto changes the system.

I think they needed 2 midfielders to displace Iniesta and Rakitic from the first XI and they've not got any so far.

If they stick with their patented 433, I think they'll "struggle" again.

This.

Like United, they will find themselves shopping in a market where talent, especially real quality, is very scarce but money is not.

They still have MSN though.

Yeah... not happening.

Especially, considering the Barca chairman said hey have a budget of 60m Euros plus any sales.

60m Euros is probably less than half the fee Liverpool would demand for Coutinho.

Shopping from top 6 PL clubs... in fact any PL team really... has become extremely difficult with the financial clout they now have.
