Barcelona - a lot of moaning about them and some praise

Champions League hopefuls Real Madrid have asked Uefa to take action against six Barcelona players in the aftermath of last week's Champions League semifinal at the Santiago Bernabeu, AS reports.

Barca recorded a 2-0 win over the capital club, but the match was marred by incidents as Jose Pinto, Pepe and Jose Mourinho were all dismissed during the contest.

Madrid have allegedly demanded two-match bans for Dani Alves, Sergio Busquets and Pedro for their unsporting behavior, and have also asked Uefa to suspend Javier Mascherano, Seydou Keita and Victor Valdes for one game for their involvement in various altercations.

Uefa's disciplinary committee meets in Nyon on Monday to discuss Madrid's complaints and is expected to announce its decision before Tuesday's second-leg at Camp Nou.

Real Madrid have also asked Uefa to take action against head coach Pep Guardiola as they believe that the behavior of Barca's players was part of the tactician's 'premeditated anti-sporting' plan to disrupt the Bernabeu giant

Bans? Yes please

Tomorrow's match is going to get ugly. Can't wait.

:lol::lol::lol:

The most important thing about a possible ban is that it is for 2 games at least and should include Messi just for the sake of it ;)

Seriously now, cant see Uefa banning any Barca players, just wont happen. It has to be more obvious (shouting in a camera), otherwise, Uefa prefers to accept their behaviour

Busquets is absolute scum. Hope UEFA come down hard on the cheating cnut.

Assumption: UEFA takes a decision to ban every player who dived and/or play-acted in the champions league this season.

Result: CL semi-final second leg will be played between FC Barcelona B team and Real Madrid CF B team. Mourinho and Guardiola will have to watch the game on TV, in prison..

Basically, Mourinho has been 'Mourinhoed' This is karma for Porto 2004 and all the other things he got away with for Chelsea

If that happens, I think Real will turn round the 2-0, their B team is much much better than Barca's.

But it won't happen...

That's true. He got a lot of heat at the time from people. Not the most popular one. That's why he isn't getting much sympathy and Barcelona are getting stick for what they did.

I feel bad for Messi and Xavi. Seeing their team mates ruin their reputation like that. They only did have the run of the mill diving rep before that game, plus Busquets. Now their name is more synonymous with diving more so than Real is.

Nah, this has been going on for ages with Barca which makes me quite surprised there is so much uproar about it now.

You can't ruin reputations after they are already ruined.

Who went into el clasico thinking the likes of Busquets and Alves aren't serial cheats?

It's like a brand new event. I urge you to watch Barca vs Chelsea at the Camp Nou 2006 and tell me it's not worse.

Bit ironic for a Mourinho team to complain about that, or a Real team for that matter.

But if it helps us in ANY way, I definitely wouldn't mind it.

But Uefa ruled there was "no common strategy to provoke" by Barcelona, and upheld the decision to dismiss Pepe.

:lol:In other words, there was a problem that neeeded addressing that would have opened a can of worms, and they decided they couldn't be bothered.

I hope it's just as bad to really open the eyes of many on Barca (and Real's) theatrics. If Barca act like saints tonight then it will be forgotten. They'll return to normal form in the next CL match, which will be the final.

Giving they have a comfortable lead then I reckon they're going to be on their best behaviour as they know everyone will be ready with the pitchforks.

I expect it to be a much better match with a lot of goals.

It might all change though when Madrid nick a goal. I hope they do.

I hope Ronaldo dives for a penalty & gets Puyol sent off.

Rather it be Pique if the reasoning is to get an advantage in the Final should Barca and us still make it there.

Overall though I hope Madrid do go for it and make it a good game, after last week I'd prefer Madrid to go through on principle. Both were bad but, to me Barca seemed to have a working plan through out the game to continually pressure the ref into sending someone off. They rightfully felt they may not get anything out of the game the way Madrid were going to setup and could get hit for a sucker punch at the same time.

As Mourinho had stages planned, Barca had theirs - work on getting someone sent off and then take advantage of it.

It's a final between the two best teams in world football. Two teams that bring their own players through and play attacking football with them. I'm looking forward to the dream final, may the best team win.

:nono: May United win regardless of what happens on the pitch.

I don't think they are disgusting but I am sick of being told by pundits and commentators that nobody realises that they work really hard off the ball. feck off.

This thread is a bit bitter and RAWKish.

Yes Barca can be twats on the field but so can most teams.

It’s a ridiculous thread. They are a wonderful team now and an amazing club with a great history. Their youth policy is 2nd to none as well.

I am not a Barcelona fanboy by any means, in fact I have always had a soft spot for Madrid and usually favour them in La Liga. I just tell it how I see it - I think this thread ranks of jealousy and it would appear a lot of sheep have jumped on this Barcelona hate bandwagon. They have probably only ever watched them in the Champions League FFS.

Amazing how many people in football right now not linked to Barca who feel like they have to defend them. Commentators aswell you would think the football they play justifys them doing whatever the want on the pitch.

Nah, people are sick of their antics. That's all. But they're not the only ones.
