Barcelona vs Manchester United

Gotta thank SAF and the players for a great season, but man do I hate this night.. Not even a goal.
 
I know Fergie has constantly talked about how he regret leaving Park out of the squad last year. But starting him tonight has been one of his biggest mistakes of his career. Really disappointing, his technique difference from the other forwards is painstakingly obvious.

Well have to give Barca credit though no doubt it will be said that Barca were simply unstoppable while ignoring the fact that United where all over the pitch in disarray after the initial goal. If only Park had got to that opening rebound from Ronaldo's free kick.
 
It's not our year. I don't care what anybody says, we've got to the final and played poorly all year. The fact that we are even here says that we are better then we've shown.

I'm proud of the lads. Even Ronaldo. He could have had one of those petulant nights tonight, but he kept his head high and drove on till the end.


We will be back next year with Hargo and Brown, and we will be champions again.

We are United and we'll never die!
 
Comprehensively outplyed by a very good Barca tonight - congrats to them.

I think we'll be in a third consecutive final next year though - this one hurts.
 
At least that should make sure we come out fighting next season. Can't argue with that, the best team won - congrats to Barca (Bastardos).
 
barca's first goal was a sucker punch. from then on we just couldn't control the game. Barca didnt let us. Iniesta was majestic, messi was unstoppable.

We've relinquished the crown without any fight. on the night, we just just weren't good enough.

We didn't turn up tonight, not nearly enough, Carrick was vital and he failed the acid test, we missed Fletcher immensely. Credit to Barca, the best side on the night won.

We will be back, we got number 18 which was the main thing this season.
 
Gutting - you win some, you lose some. Its a sickener to lose in this manner but it will make future victories all the sweeter. For now, I'm off to drink some more.

Well done Barca, they worked for it and earned it (except Puyol who is a twat).
 
We got overrun in the midfield. Should've started in a proper 442.

And Barca deserved the win. Sure they've done their homework, studying the games we lost this season. I saw a same shitty performance from us tonight.


Another remainder for our players, and for us supporters for believing all the overhype.
 
i blame this thread since it was started before the game against hull finished which is always bad luck :mad: :(
 
after losing that first goal it was a problem getting the ball off em, like we feared.

ah well, first taste of losing a European final - I can think of worse teams to lose to
 
Best teams played in the final. The better of the best won. End of story.

We played in white because Barca was home.

Indeed. You can't be sentimental during these situations. Anderson has shown over the season that he is also not up to these big games.
 
we missed Fletcher. Woeful in the middle. No desire, no drive, no passion. Hargreaves too. Can't believe our performance in the big games this season. We didn't seem to have bottle in those.
 
1. All of RAWK reading this hoping for us to replicate your post match scumlike comments, it won't happen. We aren't going to call everyone a cnut, hope people break their legs and then blame the ref for our loss, so retreat to your sewer of a site and stop raping this ones bandwidth.

2. In hindsight what should we have done? We should of played our 'fab four', I know the best team isn't always the right team but we had 30 million and 25(?) million sitting on the bench in place of Park and Anderson, the link up play just wasn't there. When Berb and Tevez came on we actually created a couple of half chances and managed to at least keep possession in their half for brief periods. It wasn't good though, we were completely outclassed for most the match and just have to take it on the chin.

Nevermind lads, last year we were on top of the world, now we feel like shit, that's football.
 
fair play to barca but its a bit of both really. the tactics tonight were questionable. We just let them continually come onto us. Scholes Ronaldo and tevez all played the part but I have to say this

Rooney was horrible. By far his worst game in a united shirt.
 
Supremely disappointed in the match, thought Utd. would show more discipline and fight after the initial goal.

Still as always, proud of my club and the great season they've given us.
