Barcelona vs. Manchester United

Bloody hell this is nuts, my voice is already sore from yelling after Rooney scored. We seem to be going too long too quickly, but other than that some of our short passing has been great.

Evra is worrying though, he seems to be caught out of position quite often.
 
We are fortunate on balance to be level. We started very well and the pressing of the back four and the direct balls were causing Barca problems.

Since then they have got their passing game going and we have struggled abit. We have become abit to one dimensional with the long balls and the link up play when we have possession(other than the excellent goal) has been lacking. We always look to have a potential threat on the counter mind you, it's just Hernandez been caught offside abit too often.

Overall the game has panned out as many would have expected and being level at half-time gives us a good chance.

I'd keep Hernandez but put Fletcher on for Valencia.
 
FAO Indian people, isn't the lag between the visual and commentary on Ten Action so bloody annoying?

I didn't even react to the two goals with emotion because of it. (expressed emotion I mean)
 
Nani for Valencia I'd reckon but I can't see it happening.
 
Why did we press all over in the first 10 minutes and then settle into standing off them? It surely looked like a deliberate tactic.
 
We can't be too critical as Barcelona are mesmerising at times. But we look VERY leggy and are giving them ridiculous amounts of time.

Fletch for Giggs to sure up the midfield and maybe Nani for Valencia in 10 minutes if Tony continues to be anonymous.

Could be a long 45 lads!
 
I'm a bit disappointed at all the long balls we've wasted. Valencia has hardly exposed Abidal as much as we know he can. On the left wing there's been nothing much to talk about as well. Improve the delivery out wide and the service can be better to the front men. Nani will get on if our wing play doesn't improve.

We simply must score the next goal. I can't stress this enough.
 
No. Fletcher simple doesn't have the match fitness or form for a game of this standard.

But we need to sort out how easily they're carving us open. We're lucky to be level IMO/
 
Fletcher is fit. If he wasn't, he wouldn't be on the bench.

Would be surprised if he didn't come on for Valencia or Park at the hour mark.
 
Hernandez is never going to look good if he has no supply!

Valencia has been wasted - but also think his frustration will affect his play. Next time he tackles he will get booked (he should have been booked at the end of the half).

Personally would like to see Nani on.
 
Chicharito looks a bit overwhelmed which is understandable, watch the offside! Park needs to improve his touch in the second half. Evra needs to defend... More pressure should be applied at Pique and Mascherano, they aren't fast and can mistime balls in the air especially Mascherano. Messi is Messi it's close to impossible stopping him. Valencia is too isolated. The importance of that United goal can't be downplayed.
 
Evra, Valencia and Giggs not really in it. All in all we have done pretty well, fantastic goal.
Barcelona are just that good, the thing is to get the small things right. Winning the 50/50, getting the throw, hitting that pass perfect etc.. One wory is that we have runned twice as far, have to keep the ball just a little bit longer, make them run just that little bit extra.
We can fecking do this!
 
Incredible game this. Van der Sar needs to sort out his distribution and sorry to say but Barca have Valencia completely sussed and he's getting frustrated - we need Nani for the second half.

COME ON UNITED!
 
Pretty happy with that so far.

Barcelona will be sorely pissed off going into the break, they should have gotten 2 or 3 goals. If I was SAF Id be delighted with the score.

Need to change tactics slightly in 2nd half. Instead of hoofing it up the Hernandez first time, Id like us to use our wings more. Alos Giggs needs to either get himself more involved or SAF get Fletcher on in place of him.

As I said all along a la Mourinho, we need to be in touching distance with 20 mins to go and then we bring on Nani and Fletcher to add more legs to the midfield.
 
I am bloody shitting everytime Messi get the ball, we can't do anything to stop him it seem....

We're playing an outrageously good team here, no matter what the outcome at this stage I'll be proud! But feck me I still think we can do it.

Nani needs to come on though.
 
half time report. Damn lucky. Fantastic goal by us. But for 35 mins we have barely seen the ball.

We have been Barcelona'd. They are the greatest side in the world and some how we have to stop them and nick something.

DOnt forget they do tire with 15 mins to go.

@amol : It's pissing off and it's scary whenever Barca attack! The commentator gets way too excited while I'm looking at the ball near the halfway line :nervous:
 
Nani on for Valencia... Not sure about that an attacking switch. I would rather do something about our midfield. Every 2 or so minute Barca find gaps in our defense. Sooner or later they will score another goal.

It's good and all to convert our only chance of the first half, but we really need to put a plug to stop the leak.
 
i know giggs let chavvy waltz through like carrick and ando did for iniesta in 09, but giggs also had a massive hand in our goal.

dumping giggs now would severely dent our attack. we need to ride this out to 65-70 before we give up on giggsy.

The audio was ahead for the first 20 mins then it went behind.

also can you hear the background sound ? its like a dot matrix printer is continuously printing stuff
