BBC: Jose Mourinho investigated by FA over comments after Man Utd win over Newcastle | "not proven"

Absolutely ridiculous behavior and double standard shown by the FA. Employing lip readers now so they can charge Mourinho with something? What's next? Someone going through his rubbish to find something incriminating? The only thing that should happen in this case is a public apology by the FA.

Well said my friend.
If ever there was an indication that our manager receives adverse treatment from our whiter than white FA this confirms it.

They simply don't have any understanding of the immense pressure that managers are under 24 hours of every day.

Football is all about PASSION and take away that passion and what is left - a sterile non- event.
By the way I dislike the fact that every tackle seems to get a booking. Tackling, providing it is (relatively safe) is a fantastic skill and stirs passion in the crowd.

Back to Mourinho. I want to see him express his passing; it shows he cares and there is absolutely nothing wrong with venting his frustration letting off steam.

We all see it in every match players swearing at the officials. Not to be condoned but why single out our manager????

Haha. You will have to enlighten me as to how Guardiola saying "oh feck" at a press conference when asked why he translated a Spanish question in to an English answer is worse than Mourinho saying "feck you, sons of bitches" directly in to the camera after a game. I'm fascinated to hear the reasoning of how it's worse, I really am. I haven't imagined some hideous slight, it was hardly the worst thing in the world, but he did make a fool of himself and he'll get a fine for it, no big drama, only some on here have decided to make it one and start crying about how the FA hate us, we are treated differently, bla bla bla. It's a load of cringeworthy nonsense.
Don't think he said it's worse?

Why don't you justify why Klopp and Peps comments shouldn't get same charge as charge is obscene language and doesn't state tone, content, number of swear words, what's ok/not.

Have you watched the footage? Delirium is rife in this one. Don’t forget “giving it all the biggun,” and “ranting insults at the camera,” and any other over the top nonsense you want to throw in there. Did you feel your life was threatened too? Maybe you could’ve died!

What he said was scarcely audible, in another language, and not directed at anyone. The bloke was muttering to himself. That’s it. I know it’s not nearly as child friendly as Deeney sticking his fingers up to the crowd but you’ll have accept it for what it is. Who said that particular example was worse? I know your grasp upon reality is weak but you really need to stop building up these straw man argument. Klopp, for example, raving like a lunatic at and about officials, is worse, though I’m sure you’ll disagree.

there's definitely been an element of double standards when it's come to incidents - Klopp/Pep have been very confrontational at times with officoals/players and he way the water bottle incidents were dealt with was strange

the worst thing about it though is it supports Mourinho's ludicrous assertion that there's a man hunt

If all evidence points to a man hunt..then what else is it? Double standards mean they’re treating people differently

when he was talking about a man hunt he was talking about the media

he was implying that the man hunt was all about all United's ills being blamed on him

It's not like Jose has blamed the players, the board, had swipes at the scouts and fans is it? oh wait

Good work Sky, I'm glad someone has thought of the children.

Without the censor, is it 100% clear what he's said?

Can't find a proper one without the blurred mouth at the moment. If you google for "mourinho newcastle gif" you'll end up with few but I have no idea how to attach gif's to posts here.

It's possible to get what he was saying if you know Portuguese and if you're good at reading lips, the FA needed both a translator and a lip-reader for this.

Absolutely ridiculous...We anyway have a horrendous record at Stamford bridge, this is just going to make it worse....

"Your Klopp". Cringe, from an armchair supporter in Zagreb who no doubt started "supporting" us in 1999 or when John Terry missed the penalty.
Oh wait!! Are we going to do the real Man Utd supporters again?

Now I get it. He should have grinned like Klopp while saying "F' off you SOBs". That would have been pashuuun.
He shouldn't have said it with a frown on his face like that.

Cause the others swore quite clearly in English. Jose swore under his breath in Portuguese.

Are we the only club in the league to have a player and manager banned for bad language?
Are we the only club to have our players banned after red cards in pre season promotional tournaments?
It's time that this club start to get some favorable people embedded in to the FA and media so as to highlight the hypocrisy of it all. We need allies in the game now more than ever yet the club prefers to chase offical partners and Facebook likes.
The only pundits that keep a level perspective on this club are Rio and Keane, and more recently Gary Neville. Everyone else has abandoned us or kept quiet so as not to upset their liverpool and Arsenal colleagues.
Lip reading for bad language in a foreign tongue is fecking pathetic from the Fa. Every game from the top of the league to pub teams swear and abuse refs and other players. This is as common as the spit on a keepers glove. If Ed had any balls though he would fight this with the dozens of examples of swearing from this coming weekend alone.

Nice of Sky to protect the delicate flowers of the FA by censoring Joses mouth, in case they accidentally hired a translator and lip reader to ensure they were suitably offended.

Double standards. And yet not many of the media people will point this out.

Klopp can swear on the mic in press conferences (in English), while Mourinho is charged because lip readers deem him to be cursing in Portuguese.

Ridiculous.

Mourinho can appeal can't he? And during that appeal process can point out that other managers have done it and got away with it, so why charge him?

Can't FA say it was never brought to their notice or some excuse like that

FA statement..."In the interest of integrity have hired a Liverpool supporting interpreter and a Manchester City supporting lip reader"

That's different. Mourinho had the camera person fearing for their life, the 4th official was just asking Klopp what he had for breakfast so Klopp obliged by giving him a whiff of his breath and a spit sample

Unlike the rest of you lazy bastards I actually made the effort to hire a German lip reader and have it translated. He actually said, "THANK YOU FOR A LOVELY AFTERNOON OF FOOTBALL!" So there.

@Mick321 was right. This is fine but Jose's mutterings were a disgrace.

Ridiculous! But then again, don't expect much from FA anyway.

Bet the press will jump on this at the next PC!

The Cash strapped FA continue their Jose vendetta whilst ignoring other clubs/managers/players breaking their rules on a daily basis. They fined and banned Rooney for swearing in the West Ham game just after he’d got his hat trick as he said ‘F*** offf’ at the camera. OK, they’re the rules so why not the same treatment for Micah Richards and Balotteli after the FA Cup win a few days later or the dozens of players in close up on MOTD?

I asked the FA to explain this and also why King Kenny hadn’ been charged as,during an Arsenal v Liverpool game , Gerrard did his usual last minute run into the area to ‘win’ a penalty which annoyed Wenger who had a word with Dalglish who clearly could be heard to say ‘Piss off’. Here if the FA reply from someone called Tracey Bates customer relations assistant.

“ The difference to the Wayne Rooney incident is that the comments made by Mario Balotelli and Micah Richards occurred off field and were not aimed at towards and individual, therefore these fall under media comments and I can confirm no further action will be taken. I can also confirm that the FA did not consider that Kenny Dalglish’s actions contravened the Rules of the Association”

Hmmm, so Jose was walking off the pitch and his comments, in Portugese, were not aimed at an individual so must be covered media comments and are ok then? The FA don’t consider telling a fellow professional to ‘Piss off’ to be a contravention of their own rules. They allow Klopp and Guardiola to swear without sanction, they allow an England player to swear during a match, Henderson. They fine and ban one player for missing a drugs test but not another who missed one on the same day because he was ‘picking his mother up from the airport’, great excuse. They are corrupt , hypocritical bunch of muppets that need sorting out.

They didn't sell Wembley so they are obviously going to recoup all the lost money of Jose. Cunning plan.

If he did actually say "feck of you, sons of bitches" or "stick it up your ass, sons of bitches" at a tv camera, I can see why the FA would charge him. And I can see why there's a difference between saying that and "shit game" or "fecking loss". Anyone could if they chose to, I suspect.

At the same time, Klopp probably should have gotten some kind of penalty for his intimidation act against the fourth referee.

It's not that straight forward though. Jose muttered something, barely audible to himself. FA had to hire a lip reader and translator to get offended.
If Jose was showing the middle finger and shouting feck you loudly, no one would say the charge is unfair
