BBC: Jose Mourinho investigated by FA over comments after Man Utd win over Newcastle | "not proven"

The weird thing with Mourinho is that he seems surprised by the scrutiny he is under. I mean what exactly did he expect considering our form and performances? This is especially baffling when you consider that the British media is relatively less vicious than its counterpart in Italy and Spain where he himself felt was the worst.
Mourinho is a smart man. He knows he's under pressure, so he's pretending that everything is not as bad as it seems, and that the press are making it worse on purpose.

If he can keep the fans on his side with a "look at what they're doing to me, if only they backed off the team would start winning" then he's got more time to turn it around. Woodward will find it much harder to sack him if the fans are chanting his name etc.

Funnily enough some blind fans are falling for it too.

This was well thought out by Jose, he does nothing spontaneously especially when it comes to the press. He knows the players aren't playing for him and that going to Chelsea is going to be a nightmare, especially if he uses the same tactics he started the Newcastle and other games with, then UTD are going to get battered by Chelsea. He too knows that the Chelsea fans will be too willing to abuse him on the sideline reminding him he is getting sacked in the morning. He saw the abuse he got last time from the Chelsea fans, so now should he get a touchline ban then he is innocent of any wrong doing when things go wrong, as usual.
It was the same with his training ground bust up with Pogba in front of the cameras, that too was completely calculated. Everything he does especially when it comes to the media is calculated.

Not sure if he'd still feel that way. He was relatively liked the first time he was England so of course it felt better than Italy and Spain where the media went after him. Now that he's on the other side of it in England he may feel differently.

So basically, he's told the lying scum media who've stalked him through the whole of his tenure and before to 'feck off'.

Good for him.

Glad that you told us. How dumb of us.

Thanks. So even when Deschamps says things have been a bit exegerated between Paul and Jose, you’re right... we are blind and falling for it.

Mourinho has fallen short yet again of what this club & it’s fanbase expects.

What he actually should have done was whipped up his top in front of the camera, revealing a t-shirt with “David McDonnell is a fecking cnut” on it to avoid any ambiguity.

Mourinho has to stop with this childish behaviour with the media. He has been in the industry long enough to know that it's part of football and he should just accept it. The media interest is why he's able to earn the ridiculous salaries anyone involved with football is taking home.

Whether he said it in English or Portuguese why is it necessary to say anything at all? He knows he's under the spotlight, stop giving them more articles to write.

Did they not fine klopp for his wanking celebration after a liverpool goal. That offended me

Bit pathetic when you consider Klopp was credited for “pashun” when he got in the 4th officials face and was screaming like a mad man. I’m pretty sure he wasn’t asking him to have a cup of tea with him after the game.

Even when Rooney swore at a camera, audibly, in English, an FA charge was a bit daft.

But to lip read something naughty he might have said in Portuguese? That’s a bit ridiculous imo.

It all adds to the drama created around the club.
I don't mind the drama, but we need to win more games.

Out of interest, what happened to that thread where McDonnel said that Jose would be sacked last weekend?
What came of him after he made up that headline?

Not sure why your trivialising water being squeezed out of a bottle. He risked the camera blowing up into flames and melting the camera mans face off leaving the poor cats and dogs in the pet rescue centre where he volunteers traumatised for life.

Fair enough - my bad :D

It was just stupid. Klopp would get the same if he was swearing something in German straight to the camera, it is not what you should be doing.

Ffs. And yet some are allowed to scream and spit into the fourth officials face time and time again. Was it last year he got a ban for marginally overstepping the sideline. The FA is a joke.

I am curious as I am not able to recollect, but did the FA ever fine SAF or gave him a touchline ban?

Charged with papering over the cracks?

Maybe he'll get deported.... fingers crossed!

What's the difference? How can the FA have such a differing opinion over a multitude of incidents? It may be screened and only portuguese will get it.

Meanwhile remember Troy Deeney rolling out this celebration last season and the FA release the following statement:

An FA spokesperson said on Twitter: “Watford’s Troy Deeney will not face any formal action following his goal celebration during the game against Chelsea on Monday [05/02/18].

“Video footage was referred to a panel of three former elite match officials who were asked to consider independently whether it was a red card offence.

“The response was not unanimous, therefore, no disciplinary action will follow. Nevertheless, The FA will write to the player and warn him as to his future conduct.”

Meh it is a fair fine/ban imo.

Yes Klopp screams and shouts and what have ye but Mourinho's was a calculated outburst full of swearing aimed at the media.

You make it sound like he chased after them or something. He mouthed a swear word under his breath, in a language none of them would understand

If he wanted to stick it to the English media then it was a funny way of doing so.

No he wouldn’t and it’s an absolute joke from the FA. During a Liverpool Chelsea game at Anfield (I believe it was last season) Chelsea missed a penalty and Klopp went crazy, swearing into the Fourth Official’s face ‘No one f*cking beats us here’ and nothing happened. The official laughed and the incident was dismissed as enthusiasm. Meanwhile Jose was getting pulled up for all sorts. The decisions the FA make with things like this are so laughably inconsistent.

Don't agree with it but this is because football is more an entertainment for the FA than a sport.

Jose was unlucky to have the camera right in front of his face when he swore. Its similar to me as how players get fined for taking the shirt off for celebrating.

The inconsistency is ridiculous. It's not that the FA prefer to treat us one way or another, it's their weakness that if something is heavily reported they act.

When the rest of the managers do this the media don't create a circus around it.

I read that they actually hired a Portuguese lip reader to determine what he said. FFS. Next they'll be bringing in professor X to determine what Jose was thinking of that brought disrepute to the game

All we ask for is consistency.
If you’re gonna take action against Jose, do the same for Klopp and Guardiola.
The same happens when one of our players gets retrospectively banned when a ref doesn’t ‘see’ the incident. See Ashley young and the elbow incident for example.
Meanwhile, our players get assaulted and there’s nothing from the ref or action taken retrospectively. See McTominay vs Huddersfield last season. It’s just ignored.
A big part of it, is the media highlighting and going on and on about United related incidents, but not doing the same the other way round. They really have got it in for us whilst sticking their tongues up Klopps and Guardiolas arse.
