BBC: Jose Mourinho investigated by FA over comments after Man Utd win over Newcastle | "not proven"

Fetch the rope!

Jose is ruining the beautiful game, up the FA, for the purity of football.

Am i missing something here or are they appealing their own decision? Or was it a PL decision?

FA charged Mourinho. Independent Regulatory Commission proved that he wasn't guilty, so FA appealed their decision to prove Mourinho is guilty.

This is starting to feel like the FA has a personal vendetta against Mourinho.

If the original investigation wasn't silly enough, this appeal is completely absurd. I agree with most here, it's an obvious agenda. Surely at this point it's obvious even to those who dislike Man United or Mourinho? The FA are desparate to punish Mourinho.
Fans of various clubs on the reddit thread agree it is a manhunt. Mourinho got a one-match ban for kicking a bottle, other managers do the same and get nothing. Klopp swears in English during press conferences [1][2] and post match interviews and nothing gets said other than his 'passion', Mourinho says something that they need a Portuguese lip reading expert for and gets treated like he defecated on Greg Clarke's birthday cake.

Christ Almighty. They seriously have an agenda against him.

I am not sure why people are crying when it is blatantly obvious that possibly saying "feck off" unintelligibly under your breath and in no direction in a foreign language is far, far more important and every effort should be made to sanction/punish both him and the club rather than investigating the illegalities concerning financial fraud, bribing, corruption lying, hiding and cheating to the tune of over a billion £ systematically undermining and cheating every other club and the sport as a whole with the assistance adding and abetting of the governing bodies of football.

The Mourinho apologists are out in force again I see...

:D

I try not to use the word agenda these days because people act like you are mad but if you can't see they're out to get him now...

...btw has the FA commented on the allegations against City using shell companies and fronts for sponsorship to get around FFP?

Totally agree. FA are just as corrupt as city.

This is so stupid. The only reason why anyone is making a deal out of it is because the FA has brought it up. Guaranteed there wasn't a single person "upset" when he said whatever he said. FA is on a witch hunt. Carry on...

The manhunt argument doesn't seem so silly now does it!

Pathetic FA.

Can we pleaseeee have something like this at Old Trafford but directed at FA

When the 2nd goal went in, Jose was shouting "Feck off" visibly and in English at his team for their pathetic display. I don't know why that "Feck off" is ok, but he saying it in Portuguese makes it worse.

"The words mouthed were a Portuguese colloquial profanity. Thus, the objective person would have had to lip read Jose Mourinho's mouth and interpret Portuguese colloquialisms to accurately decipher the comments."

Those are the words of the panel. So unless you are Portuguese, and a lip reader (as any comments were inaudible) - your not even going to know what he said. Even then the expression is essentially “duck yeah!”

The FA have lost the plot.

Pointed this out BTL on the Grauniad, too. It's fecking mental.

Just when you think the FA can’t show themselves up anymore, they produce another gem.
I’ve never heard of them appealing a decision before, is this the first time?

It takes a very special kind of dumbfeckery to unify the cafe. It seems the FA is that dumbfeckery.

I initially felt Mourinho may have been overly dramatic about the whole "they're out to get me" thing, but this really looks like he has a point. It's ridiculous that they're dragging this out.

So what exactly is FA's problem. He said something which seems ambiguous and not readily apparent and FA is after that. Ridiculous.
FA is not used to be getting defeated by manager appeals. Their egos have been wounded

As I said before, the FA by appealing aren't framing themselves as an impartial body who should be happy to trust an independent third party opinion, they are framing themselves as the opposition to Jose Mourinho who stand to gain something if they can find him guilty.

This is a brilliant point. The appeal is ridiculous, and makes no sense if they're impartial. Do the FA feel they've been wronged? Very strange situation this.

Beyond ludicrous. What sort of a menagerie do they have in there in FA HQ? Was this actually an agreed decision or has one mentalist gone rogue and put out his own press release?
Anyway, if Jose had sat down and plotted a way to unite the United faithful behind him, he couldn't have come up with a better scheme.

The FA are beyond pathetic. They're just doing this as they were made to look like twats with the decision. Utter wankers and I long for the day that this shambles of an organisation is dissolved and replaced by something that is semi-competent. Their heads are so far up Pep's and Klopp's arses its unreal.

I don't like Jose but this is pure B.S. now. Haven't they got anything better to do? Like investigate City?

Wouldn't be surprised if they're not using this to deflect from addressing the 'leaks'.

Anybody not sure theres some petty ego bruised pricks at fa now? Incredible to drag this on

It's not like we needed any indication that the bias is real, but the FA gives as a crystal clear one anyway. Glad that he can laugh off the manhunt. It seems that some of our players are also started to cope with it. The players are all young and it's easy to forget that in your twenties you are not really supposed to cope with such pressure. At least not these days we are living in. Generations started to mature later.

Honestly I am intrigued by this appealing to know more of the background of this "manhun". The media and all kind of sources seems biased and I wonder whether it's their personal preference or something is behind it.

That is brilliant. I wish Jose was like that more often, I want to see the manager in that video, not what we usually get.

Bloody great dig at the FA.

Don't know if it's been mentioned in the thread yet, but how do they know he said those words and didn't just mouth them? Is there audio of it?

Saying that, he did mouth 'fecking bullshit' at HT :wenger:
