If you think Berba should start ahead of Rooney then fair enough, but watching the City game you see just how good Rooney is.
But obviously Scholes needed the match minutes more than anyone, and Scholes on the bench was supposed to fire up both the crowd and the dressing room, I doubt Berba on the bench would've done that.

Wouldn't complain about him winning the December player of the month. It could be argued that his good form only came over a couple of months, but his goal contribution in December should be recognised in some form.

It's true he has. Berbatov is still the superior player though. Also, German's tend to also appreciate technical players like him far more than the Gomez types. I honestly believe Gomez would be hard done by if Berbatov was signed.
