Berbatov | Fulham player

Its debatable whether he's good enough for the top 4 given his age and being on good wages, but he's clearly better than all of Arsenal's strikers except Van Persie.

Berbatov's not good enough for top 4 as he's proved at Man Utd. He's not even good enough for Spurs anymore.

Well, it was glaringly visible Chamakh and Bendtner weren't good enough and you get them AND finish in the top four. This time you would know what you're getting (If you didn't then) and he would fare far better than those two combined.

I don't understand how some people think you're a decent poster, you're either just a bitter wanker trying to wind people up, or one of the most dillusional posters I've ever seen.

Which one is it?

59 goals and 27 assists in 149 games, only 108 starts.

a goal in every 2 games basically, if you take in acount his sub appearances.

I love how some people in this thread stick to hard facts when downplaying Berba's quality (they don't want him on a cheap etc)not taking into account things like playing style, age, wages, yet are clutching at straws when someone pops up with his stats.

RVP scores a goal every 0.47 games
Berba scores a goal every 0.4 games

RVP sets a goal up every 0.22 games
Berba sets up a goal every 0.18 games

RVP has a much worse injury record, requires higher wages, and is only a year younger.

Id rather keep Berbatov. RVP wants to play at a higher level then Arsenal, so he'll fit in nicely with other world class players.

But but he only scores in 3 games a season you know. meaningless goals as well.

Yep, them 3 goals against Liverpool in a 3-2 win meant nothing unfortunately.

Well you better get on the phone to Ferguson and tell him he's clueless for not playing Berbatov for 18 months and trying to get him off the books on a free, while wanting to pay £20M and £200K a week for RvP.

Are you plumbing new depths of stupidity?

Thats what you're doing isnt it? Holding him to his contract unless someone bids an amount you like the sound of and in a year he'll walk away for free. Exactly the same as us with Berbatov for a lot less money.

As would I, and I would play him every week like SAF did when we won the title and Berba was golden boot winner.

Want him to stay and play for us weekly - he must have stolen Fergies wine...that's why he's got shut out

Guessing this means he's a certainty to go, but that always seemed to be the case anyway. I'd rather see him gone than rot in the reserves. He's better than that.

can we give his number 9 to RvP and give berbatov some shit number or even no number at all like what the big spanish clubs do when they want a player out?

He didn't moan, you shouldn't either. If he is here then let him stay, if Fergie decides to sell him then pay him some respect and give him a good farewell. He deserves it.

Maybe we can convince Arsenal to buy Berbatov? A classy guy to a classy club.

Well said.

There has to be some movement because I don't see us keeping Rooney, RVP, Welbeck, Hernandez, Berbatov and Macheda. Macheda is guaranteed to be loaned out or sold, don't see him near out first team. Henriquez, when formally signed, will also be loaned out I assume. Even then, Hernandez and Berbatov will not see enough games, Hernandez will stay on as a super sub, but Berbatov will not be happy spending another season like the last one. I think SAF will have to lower his demands, even if it is a paltry 5m. He has no other choice.

Saying that, I think the main issue is his wages, and if he truly wants to play football elsewhere, he will need to take a huge pay cut as only the top teams would be willing to pay his wages, and none of the top teams are interested.

^ maybe because of his wage demands.

it is not looking good for berba now. i feel sorry for him but the team is the most important thing and we have strengthen our attack by signing van persie.

i want him to stay but it will be unfair for a player with such talent to not be playing much football. i don't want him to move to another english club either. italy or germany would suit him imo, and i am quite happy to see him moving to a big club there.

We did that to Heinze in 07/08 (he left before the season got properly underway, but I'd wager there are a few Heinze 14 shirts floating around out there somewhere)

I also forgot to add Kagawa to that list, unless SAF intends on playing him in midfield, which I doubt.

Surely he's done here now?

Have to say, I feel a bit sorry for him. I've staunchly defended him, even during his first two, in retrospect, slightly disappointing seasons.

And I've always loved watching him. For me, he's gonna be one of my irrational favourites, no matter what people say about his spell here afterwards.

Classy player, classy guy - the world's most sexy first touch.

Not a bad "replacement" in RvP, though.
