Berbatov | Fulham player

Cheers Berbs, thanks for the memories.

Or maybe it's as simple as Berbatov's young family being settled in England, I mean that is after all what Juve have said on the matter!

Funny how posters like Ekeke were saying a week ago that teams like PSG were never interested, that my opinion of him as a footballer wasn't shared by the big clubs. Are the Serie A champions big enough for you?

To be honest Evra, they tried to get him only after they failed in RVP, Cavani, Llorente and Jovetic. With saying that I think that he without a problem could have been their main striker but 1.8M per year was not even near enough for a player like him.

Yeah that could be part of it too, no reason for Juve to lie about it. I reckon though if they had suggested he'd be playing a big role etc then he probably would have gone, but who knows. Just hope he gets his move somewhere he wants to go.

Juventus are offering him 1/2th of wages of what he earns here(according to reports) and Fulham will give him nearly 80k. Ofcourse it's easy to say from your living room and moaning about a player's ambition but at Berba's age it's understandable that he doesn't want to take a pay cut.

This is all fair enough. Both good points. But I have never heard of a player who has a lot of talent who turns down a massive club playing CL football for Fulham

It’s crazy. I am genuinely disappointed he is not going to Juve

Yeah but that's fair enough, Berba has been marginalized at united for the last 18 months, if you're looking for a player you're probably gonna want players who have been playing regularly before you move for other talents.

Completely agree. He would have get more money for a year in United that for those 2 years in Juve together, and a player that is 31 of course that money does matter.

Sad the inevitable is finally happening - wish him the absolute best. Hope he gets a fantastic reception when he comes back to OT

Of course that neither Berba nor Juve will not say that the transfer wasn't made cause of money. But from some reports i read that juve offered about 35/40K a week while Fulham have offered about 80K so I think that this is the main reason.

I cannot believe that he didn't went to Juventus because he liked England or Fulham more.

Berbatov and Bryan Ruiz play together. Should be fun to watch.

Thanks and good luck to Berbatov! Looking forward to his return to OT next year.

This.

It's a shame, I know I'm hard on Berbatov but I can't help but think that this is typical of a player that has been in 3 Champions League finals with 2 different clubs but never started one of them. He just doesn't have the drive to take his talent the very top of where it could be.

hope he does well at Fulham (just not when they play us :p)

he was a good player who made his contribution for us so I wish him well.

Probably wants to stay in England and the PL and took up the only offer for him here.

And we also know Berbatov is not one of those who will really fight for a new challenge abroad at this stage of his career.

So Fulham it is. Good luck Berba, you'll not be forgotten :D

I would have loved to see him play against us, especially at OT, will have to wait for it.

Wish him all the best and, though it has been on the cards for over a year, I'm still gutted to see him move on. Class, class player.

While I'll be shit scared he'll score against us, I'm glad he's still in this league and I'm sure he'll get a cracking reception.

Marvelous technician and a modest person, but languid and lazy beyond acceptance, so I'm glad he's going.

Wish him well for the future and thanks for all the memories.

Berbatov, one of my favorite United players.

I'm happy he'll be staying in England. I hope he becomes an important player for Fulham.

He seems to be a bit of a sensitive soul and all. I'd imagine being somewhat frozen out of things towards the end of his career here would have affected his confidence a little. Weighing everything up though, he probably thinks it's best to just play regularly rather than have to put up with another season like he did last year in one of the prime years of his career (and in another country). He's proven that he can do it in this league and will most probably play week in, week out. I'd do the same tbh. But you make a fair point.

Would've been great to see him for a club like Juve though. Or just to see how he'd perform in Italy.

should I put a fiver on the possibility of Berba outscoring every one of our strikers this year? :D
might not be such a bad call, seeing as we've got so many options we're bound to rotate, and with his ability he should cement a place in the starting XI, and Fulham do look like scoring goals so far :)

I love him. One of my favourite players. I hope he does brilliantly at Fulham.

Agreed with all of this. Thanks for the memories and all those important goals!

Oh how I thought he would become the next Cantona in our team when we signed him.

I love how people try to psychoanalyse the man by pointing to his style on the pitch as evidence for him lacking any "drive." He pretty much scored in every opportunity he was given last season, he also kicked up a fuss wanting to move to United from Tottenham. He's probably just happy in the country and has a family to think about.

Happy to see him stay in the Premier League to be honest. Hope he's first choice and does well.

He's way to good for Fulham. Easily still good enough for Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool IMO. Only United and City in the Premiership who have players to good for him.

After a season there people will be talking about his as a top player again.

Edit: missed the talk of Juve and Fiorentina. Typical Berbatov I suppose.

Expect to see at him Liverpool next summer, would've much preferred him moving abroad. He'll be superb at Fulham and the likes of Liverpool will be all over him next year I reckon.

Yep, big deal.

The good part is, we get to watch him every week in the PL. I have a feeling though that soon one of the bigger clubs here will go for him. Especially if he had a strong half or a full season.this may even be part of the plan. More exposure if he wants to stay in England

How old will he be next season?

Liverpool wont want him at all you mad man!

if he scored for Fulham against us would people be pissed off if he celebrated like a mad man!

if he does that would be a first!
