if he scored for Fulham against us would people be pissed off if he celebrated like a mad man!
if he does that would be a first!
He is too cool to show he actually enjoys scoring goals.

The good part is, we get to watch him every week in the PL. I have a feeling though that soon one of the bigger clubs here will go for him. Especially if he had a strong half or a full season.this may even be part of the plan. More exposure if he wants to stay in England
Even though he has been benched at United you don't think the clubs in England are already aware of him I mean he spent a couple of seasons at Spurs, then a few with us. I would think they don't really need to watch him at Fulham to figure out if they like him as a player.
Back to his level Im afraid. He's not a Manchester United/Real/Barca/Bayern level of player.
And as we all know, Fulham is the next step below those teams.

This.
It's a shame, I know I'm hard on Berbatov but I can't help but think that this is typical of a player that has been in 3 Champions League finals with 2 different clubs but never started one of them. He just doesn't have the drive to take his talent the very top of where it could be.
Well he's our what...5th choice striker now? And no big club was ready to offer him the salary he wanted. The market speaks for itself.

I wont be surprised if he ends up being listed amongst the EPL top expensive flops.

The football market is a shambles, how it's escaped you is beyond me.
Rooney was always going to be our supporting striker, Berba was a direct competitor to that role, but as he's not as dynamic as Rooney he was never a real competitor suited to our play.
Jol knows what he'll get, I hope they keep hold of Dempsey. They could be quite a fun team to watch with Berba pulling the strings.
No.
However at 31, after a year rotting on our bench + with the financial crisis hitting football hard, it was always going to be hard for him to find a better club.
Things may have changed if he was ready to take a massive wage cut.
Were Juve and Fiorentina not actually interested then?
If he's staying I hope SAF gives him the chance to earn his pay. He'll score goals for us in smaller games - no doubt. If we were ready to give Owen the chance of playing, why not have Berbs ready to fire off? I'm still a huge fan of his, and I don't really see where it all went wrong. He seems happy even coming off the bench. Wish he could prove us all wrong and make us hope he signs for another year come january.
The only person missing something here is you.
No, all people are pointing out is that Fulham is a level below where Berba could be playing, which you cant see with your irrational assessment of his ability as a player.
There is a huge gap between "Real, Man Utd, Barca, Bayern" and Fulham, and its baffling that none of those clubs picked him up. Spurs especially with their awful striker problems.
I think both Juventus and AC Milan were initially interested. However his salary, his age + the fact that he ended up our 4th choice striker hindered such move badly.
Marotta insisted Juve had "acted with the maximum fairness and transparency" towards Fiorentina, and told Sky Sport Italia: "We have much to discuss with Fiorentina. We have acted with the maximum fairness and transparency with regard to the market dynamics."
He went on: "I reject the allegations from Fiorentina. We entered into the business over Berbatov when we heard that he had refused Fiorentina, and in the meantime there was a proposal by Fulham."
"We made our own, then the player said he preferred to stay in England for family reasons. It was not a rejection."
"We wanted to take advantage of an opportunity that had appeared to us in the market. Many teams were following the player."
If either of those bothered them then they'd never have been interested in the first place. We've no idea about what his wage demands were or how they were received. It seems odd to assume Fulham offered more, and these quotes suggest a different reason for his decision.

All in all, it doesn't really fit with your view that he has found his level with Fulham, and that no bigger clubs were prepared to follow through a deal with Berbatov.
The strategy currently used by many Italian clubs is to go for players who are unhappy at the club or at the end of their contract and try to get them on cheap (salary wise etc).
Honestly I wont be surprised if Fulham were more keen to offer more in terms of salary then the italian clubs. First of all, they aren't passing from their best of times (financially). Secondly, Berba is an unknown article in Italy and having such a big salary + being United's 4th striker hasn't helped him much.
I'd rather Dimitar Berbatov in our shirt than Wayne Rooney![]()
