Birmingham City vs. Manchester United

Giggs has been unbelievable shit! He's really pissing me off.
And no, he's not playing out of position this time, he's just crap.

Great idea not having Nani on the bench.

I agree...1/2way through the first half and I tallied at least 8 fVck-ups.

Passing and movement has been poor, and consistently changing position without any width isnt going to help, either.

2nd half must be a big improvement if we want the 3 points

Horrible first half. Macsheffery and Kapo is a handfull for our defence, and we're not controling the ball at all. Ronaldo has gone missing and Rooney and Tevez can't get it to click. They better shape up in the second half. Someone has to hold the ball up. Evra has to help out more on the wing.

Giggs' form is starting to annoy me badly. Come the feck on you old legs, we need you!

Nani on for Giggs around the hour, Saha on for Carrick if things go wrong.

Hellboy calm down, you've been warned about this behaviour before in the matchday forum.

For what its worth, Giggs has been poor so far. Bad passing and poor choices.

Evra has his hands full with Larrson and Brown is having problems with McSheffrey. Scholes and Carrick are getting closed down quickly.

We really need Saha as a target man 2nd half

There really are some nobs in this thread. Not been a particualrly good half from Utd, Giggs, Scholes, and Ronaldo have all struggled, but i doubt the Brummies will keep that tempo up for much longer. And it's not like we're losing.

Our main problem is ball retention. We are giving away possession far too cheaply with everyone being guilty of this (especially Giggs, Carrick and Ronaldo). I think we are going for the killer ball too early and not looking to build up play properly.

I'm hoping Birmingham will tire towards the end of the game as they have been working extremely hard in closing down all over the pitch. I also think having Saha upfront would stretch their defense and provide more space for the other players to work in.

Nani not on the bench.

Subs: PIG, Pique, O'shea, Anderson, Saha.

Not been following this thread, but have been watching... He'll probably go and do something now, but Giggs has been bloody awful. Evra has had no support at left back. Tevez has been our best player so far. I'd drag Giggs off and bring on either Saha or Anderson.

we are a team at the moment with no understanding. That is critical. Tevez is a very very talented player...probably in terms of skill better than Rooney, but they just don't play well together. We need Saha up front now...and either Tevez or Rooney with him. We also really miss Hargreaves in this game. But we will have to get used to that since he, as one of my Bayern friends told me, is only going to make around 25 to 30 games a season!!

Why do United always seem surprised when teams are pressuring high?

Sort out the sloppy pases at the back, there's been 4 unneccessary chances for them due to the fancy dan parade back there, feck sake Scholes and Ferdinanad, safety first, you feckin idiots.

Tevez has been our best player, Giggs our worst. Get Saha on for Giggs sharpish, throw caution to the wind and then introduce a defensive midfielder.

This performance is very flat.

I think Ronaldo has to raise his game, he's been rather average in the first half, drifting from right to left, then in the middle. We're not getting the width we need to stretch their defence.
Ronney hasnt been very productive. Carrick has been quiet and not supplying those passes that can carve their defences up like we know he can, but simply sitting back and defend.

We need to bring Saha on soon, I'm not sure about Anderson though, perhaps in the last 15-20 mins.

Two Words --- Louis Saha

and maybe Anderson on for carrick or giggs.

You can't expect us to come to places like this and play pretty, just hope to nick a goal, the only problem is the brumies look good enough to scrap it themselves

Maybe Glazier should come in the dressing room to tell Carrick to pass the ball to the wing because 70% of the play is in the middle...

poor poor performance.

We have players with so much skill on the ball and what do we do... lump it long again and again and again. I don't think we've strung more than 3 forward passes. The first or second pass has been an often aimless long ball into the box.

for fecks sake. Come on lads, we're better than that.

We need to move the ball faster and we also have to have more patience. Now we're sending the ball up as soon as we get it instead of letting Scholes and Carrick handle it for a little and allow time for evra to get in position. MacSheffrey is perhaps one of the worst players in the premiership and today he's looking mint - sick..

Hope VDS is OK.

Maybe Glazer could tell Ronaldo and Giggs to stay wide?

ht

I think its the same problem weve been having. Rooney and Tevez play so far off one another, rooney looks a bit lost. i think the midfield can stay the same, maybe giggs off (but for anderson???), but rooney should be off if we dont get a goal by 60', saha on.

the other option is, giggs off, saha on, and 4-2-3-1, but we might get stretched at the back

tevez is playing well all around, and hes about the only one, scholes isnt stretching forward enough and so carrick isnt getting time on the ball, the back four have been shaky to say the least but both evra and brown have been getting forward well, giggs has been off, and ronaldo isnt up to par.

its still very winnable, but unfortunately the same could be said for birmingham

this is one of the first times ive been here for a match and feck me, whats with all the negativity?

Why would anyone be praying for a draw?

For what its worth we are 2nd to everything but with any luck Birmingham wont be able to keep this tempo up for long.
Giggs is again dissapointing me, but then again Scholes and Carrick are having nothing in the middle of the park, forcing Ronaldo to come inside making our play very narrow. We could really do with Hargreaves tbh, but as thats not likely I suggest we wait and see how the first 15 pan out after Fergie and Carlos have voiced their opinions. We look dangerous on the break.

How the feck is Ronaldo top of the MOTM table ?!?!

I'm amazed at how many tactical geniuses there are in this thread! :)
