Birmingham v Manchester United

This is a disjointed formation and Giggs/Gibson for Nani/Park = less energy and pace, not to mention its putting three of our most important players in the recent resurgence out of their comfort zones in unfamiliar positions i.e. Rooney on the left, Berbatov up top alone isolated and made to fight hard and Anderson pushed up when most of us prefer him to be deeper alongside Carrick having more of an impact in terms of possession and driving us forward.

Evra and Rafael need to deliver more searching balls and provide some telling width if we're going to bring the best out of our forwards tonight.

Anyway I think we're comfortable enough even with this formation to nick a goal. Birmingham are always tough opposition away from home and there are no guarantees that we would have been winning this game with an orthodox 4-4-2.. but we do look to be making it hard for ourselves.

This was always going to be a tough away fixture.

I don't mean to sound racist...but girls at football matches? Still an odd concept.

Is there any way we can go into 442 in this game without conceding a goal that will put us in a position where we need to chase?

Birmingham play like they are champions or smthg, game raising cnuts

Yes, and they raise their game for pretty much any home game, which basically means that this is the level they are at, doesn't it?

We need to draw their full backs into the centre...and put pressure on the midfield. We could do this by running around a little bit more.

Spa-ctics.

They're always good at St. Andrews. Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham have all gone there and only one of them even managed a goal.
