You're not only a waste of resources on an increasingly crowded planet, but you're also gay.

"Bitch".

Djs their goal was nothing to do with being able to defend....watch their goal..

No, but to be honest, thats the main difference. They are better at keeping clean sheets (especially against the weaker sides) and then one goal is normally enough.

This forum has gone downhill. Can we please have the chatroom back?

Now we have to raise our game against a fresh Bolton side .....then that trips to Highbury, City & hosting Liverpool ,,,a demanding fixture in Jan with the league cup semies also...

Well, it's easier to defend when a club packs 8-10 men in the box. That's Chelsea. Get a goal in the first half or an odd goal in the 2nd half, and defend. It's boring tactics. But it works.

Making more friends with the theory of an overcrowded planet out here, too?

When are you going to learn that it's not working for you Jason?:p

Is that meant to have some remote resemblance to a 'point' to it? :smirk:

It is possible to combine good defending with attacking football.

But to be honest, you need a settled midfield and a settled back four for that. And we haven't got that, injuries causing constant changes in defence.

Werent you taking a pop at a United fan for posting whilst United were playing?

You're on a MUFC forum whilst your own team is playing in a local derby, not that youd have much appreciation of that I suppose.

Not sure why you always have to be abusive VN, it's a genuine comment, in response to someone else's post. I wasnt abusive or rude, just answered in an honest manner. You've shipped two goals against a side that isnt famous for being prolific. Hence, you were going to find it hard to win.

Chelsea's consistent ability to keep clean sheets suggests they're not so much 'flukey' as efficient and strong at the back.

As for our game, it's in stoppage time and been over for a while, in terms of being a contest and any incidents.

I wonder if Ole scored in the last minute, would anyone complain about our defence or tactics n general...

United also haven't the luxury to spend 270m+ to build a near perfect side.

That's fair enough, i've not seen your goals yet...

I was just referring to the accusation that Chelsea are 'flukey'...which they arent really, if we're being honest. They're just very solid at the back and rarely concede one, let alone two.

You're the one with the "Best died" 'joke' thread before he died.

I don't think there is a level lower than you on this forum.

Ps. "Bitch"

I think I'm going to put a bit of Travis on and cry myself to sleep whilst clutching some memorabilia from the 98/99 season.

and you have nothing to discuss about your game with your fellow supporters?

Oh I forgot, to you, United losing/drawing is more important than your own team winning!

DJS, how many fluke goals have you seen Chelsea score from a deflection or some other strange route, and win 1-0?

At least a half dozen over the last 12 months. Drogba's fluke bounce being one that I can recall. Lampard has about 4 or 5 fluke bounces/deflections himself. Duff scored a fluke goal against United in the CC semifinal last season.

I've no complaints. We don't need 270m pounds, we just need a bit of luck because we have a terrific back four already within the squad. Unfortunately, not when four defenders are injured.

That's true, but the fact that these win them games isnt so much flukey, as they're that solid, meaning a single goal is often enough.

To be honest though, every team benefits from a deflection here and there, we had a slight one tonight on our 2nd goal. To dismiss Chelsea as being 'flukey' comes across as a bit bitter, that's all...

we still have no doubt that, between United and Pool which is more important to you! Period
