On a brighter note: we lost, so now the scousers will be back. On the other hand... that IS if they win against Everton.

Can't expect players to keep producing their best week in week out, and today Ruud, Phil, Scholes and Ole weren't at their best. Our defence was good again I thought, but our attack was poor today. Things might have been very different if Ruud had buried his one on one.

for what? getting beat! we cant win every game, for fecks sake, teams get beat no matter who they are! its part of the game.....

i think the players thought who's blackburn, when we beat all the top teams around.

fecking Bollocks!

15 minutes on, we weren't in the game. WTF.

Do we really rely on Veron and Becks that much?

feck, how we missed Veron today, Phil and Scholes cannot hold the c.midfield and link the play to the forwards.
Bollocks!

BOLLOCKS!

We needed to capitalise on our good spell at the start of the first half. When we didn't do that, it was always going to be difficult.

Ruud was really playing crap though. He didn't get the ball often but when he did he either lost it or made scrappy passes. What I noticed today was that many players got easily put away in duels against Blackburn players.

That side has played great before, but every good run comes to an end. We started the game the better side, but their goal gave them a huge boost and they came out for the second half a different side. Our winning run had to end, its just a shame it didn't end with a draw rather than a loss.

Well what a surprise, one defeat and the knee jerk reactions come flooding in

We had a decent first half. Squandered a hat full of very good chances. Got caught short. Then didnt do the business in the 2nd half. NOT an unfamiliar story this season but our tremendous run had to end somewhere.

Plenty of nice Christmas pressie like fixtures to come, so lets not get carried away with todays blip.

Come on ye reds, lets have a barn storming Christmas period and come out on top.

Boro aren't playing too well lately. We should be able to get a point.

Neil, I'm surprised by you reaction. Did you see it as a 'good run'. That sounds almost as if we had some luck going on. IMO the team that trotted out today didn't want to win the game, that's very frustrating when you think of the ground we have made up in the last 8 weeks. We threw it away today and not from having bad luck, we played for 2nd place!

That being said, Boro are still unbeaten at home(I think) and our away form hasn't been too clever.

What we need is 3 points though. I can't see us losing the upcoming 2 home games, so 9 points should be enough to close in on the top.

well it always happened here unfortunately! :(

The players must be tired, they play twice a week. With the return of Keane, Beckham etc..., Fergie will have several options now.
