Barclays Premier League
Ewood Park
Saturday October 4th 2008
KO - 17:30 GMT

A Riot from Carlito is expected at Ewood Park..

------------VDS----

Brown---Rio---Vidic----Evra

Ronaldo----Anderson---Giggs----Park

----Tevez----------Berbatov

Keep Santa Cruz quiet and we will win.. Robinson, Dunn are out injured..

Blackburn always give us a tough game, so I expect that trend to continue. However they don't have that god-like goalkeeper Friedel anymore, so if we can create as many chances as we regularly do against them, and be a lot more clinical than we were tonight, we should win.

If Rafael overcomes his injury I'd like to see Fergie show some faith in him and give him a start, he has impressed me every time I have seen him play and hopefully Fergie will show that he has confidence in him to do well after an excellent performance tonight.

Again if fit Rooney should partner Berbatov up front. Both are now of the mark for the season goals-wise so I think they should be played together in the next few games and let the momentum continue.

Won't be an easy game, but defensively Blackburn have been poor this season and our impetus going forward has improved over these past few games, so for those reasons I'm going for a 2-0 win.

I'd go with

-------------------- VDS --------------------

Brown ---- Ferdinand --- Vidic ------ Evra

Ronaldo --- Fletcher -- Anderson -- Giggs

----------- Tevez ------ Berbatov ---------

Bench: Amos, Nev, JOS, Nani, Manucho, Park and Evans

If Rooney is fit then him on the bench.

-------------------- VDS --------------------

Rafael ---- Ferdinand --- Vidic ------ Evra

Ronaldo --- Fletcher -- Anderson -- Park

----------- Rooney ------ Berbatov ---------

That's how I'd like to see us start (Provided everybody is fit of course)

I think with Sparky leaving Blackburn will be an easier side for us, especially with Freidel gone as Elvis said. No more superhuman efforts in goal.

The fact that they are missing Dunn is a bonus for us with our lack of midfield depth.

VDS

Brown
Ferdinand
Vidic
Evra

Ronaldo
Fletcher
Anderson
Park

Tevez
Berbatov

Subs: Kuszczak/Amos, Neville, O'Shea, Nani, Giggs, Rooney (if fit), Hargreaves (if fit)

Ronaldo-----Giggs---Fletcher----Park
------------Rooney-----------------
---------------Berbatov------------

blackburn can be a physical side .. wouldnt want to start with rafael

the midfield is a worry .. hargreaves , carrick and scholes injured

Anderson / Fletcher is as good a midfield partnership as you will find at any team in the country this weekend, save perhaps Chelsea

...............Van Der Sar...............
......Brown...Rio...Vida...Evra.......
..Hargo..Fletcher..Ando..Ronaldo..
...........Rooney..Berbatov...........

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: Neville
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Ronaldo
CM: Hargreaves
CM: Anderson
LM: Park

CF: Tevez
CF: Berbatov

Subs: PIG, Brown, Evans, O'Shea, Giggs, Nani, Manucho

The above working on the basis that Rooney and Fletcher are injured. We'll win 0-1 Tevez to score

We are picking up injuries now but we have a strong squad. They should hopefully be able to get us the results we need. At least we still have good firepower in Berbatov and Tevez if Rooney does miss out. The central midfield is a bit of a concern though. Fletcher, Giggs, Anderson and Hargreaves need to step it up.

Im guessing with our injuries...

-----------VDS
-Brown--Rio--Vida--Evra
-Ronaldo--Anderson--Hargreaves(Please be fit)/Fletch--Park
------------El Apache
-------------------Berba

Nani needs games, games, games. otherwise we can forget him!

I havent been impressed with him recently but hes got great potential, which wont be realised on the bench at his age.

Twat! 2.30am kick off in Sydney that is.......

Oh come on that's perfect time to come home from the bar, leave 6-12 pack in the fridge for the return and go from their you might not remember the game but wth, it will be a good time

I'd go with:

------------------- Van der Sar ---------------
Brown ----- Ferdinand ---- Vidic ---------- Evra
Ronaldo ----- O'Shea ----- Anderson ------ Park
----------- Tévez ----------------------------
--------------------- Berbatov ---------------

Subs: Amos, Evans, Gibson, Possebon, Giggs, Nani & Manucho

This is of course, if Scholes, Rooney, Fletcher, Hargreaves, Carrick, Neville, Rafael and Fábio are deemed unfit to play. (I know at least three of them are out for sure).

I'm not sure where the idea of Fletcher being injured has come from though, but I would've expected him to have been in the side to face Aalborg if he was fit. If he's fit, then obviously O'Shea to the bench and Fletcher in central midfield.

I'd be happy with that lineup. As good a cameo as that was by Rafael, starting him against Blackburn would do him more harm than good in my opinion.

Last 5 Matches
Blackburn Form: DLLWW
Goals Scored: 5
Goals Conceeded: 10
Home Form: DLW

Important that we put their goalkeeper under pressure (2nd choice keeper). Blackburns main threat normally comes down each wing rather than through the middle and they seem to prefer to play on the counter. So our defense needs to be fairly alert.

9pm for me :D

generally league matches here are between 5pm - 10pm and champions league matches start at 12:15am.

suites me fine that.

Looks the most sensibe team to me (assuming Fletch & Roo are out). 2-0, No Friedel, No chance !!

Scholes, Hargreaves, Carrick and Fabio are all definately out for this game.
Yeh, the only one I wasn't certain of out of those you listed was Hargreaves, I've not heard anywhere say that he's definately out, though.

Anyway, even if Rooney is fine, he's starting this one on the bench just to be careful. He started against Aalborg anyway, so letting Tévez start this one is fine.

Neville has a slight knock, but I'd start Brown over him at the weekend anyway, even if he looked a bit shite against Aalborg.

Rafael won't be in the squad anyway.

Fletcher starts if he's fit and Gibson loses his bench spot to O'Shea.

And that's basically everyone noted really. Even if all the players I mentioned do miss the game, we've still got just enough depth to put out a good squad.

if rooney doesnt recover , manucho might make the bench .. hope it doesnt happen that way

who is their backup goalkeeper

glad friedel is gone .. not sure if robinsons absence is a good thing
