Blackburn vs Manchester United

The best part is, even if we get to win it there, the celebrations are left for the last game at OT

Blackburn supporters are being warned not to sell their season tickets to Manchester United fans for Rovers final home game of the season.

United will secure their 19th league title if they avoid defeat at Ewood Park on Saturday, while Rovers are looking for a positive result as they continue their battle to avoid relegation.

A statement on Blackburn's official website said: "Reports that some Blackburn Rovers supporters are 'selling' their season tickets to Manchester United fans ahead of Saturday's Barclays Premier League fixture at Ewood Park have brought a furious response from the club.

"Club officials - fully supported by Lancashire Police - warn that everything possible is being done to minimise the illegal practice and stress that any offenders will face strong and appropriate action.

"Rovers have information and intelligence of season ticket holders selling their tickets directly to United followers - there is even evidence of season tickets being advertised on the internet."

Blackburn managing director Tom Finn said: "This is a very disturbing situation, not to mention a criminal offence, and a situation we could well do without leading up to what is a massive fixture.

"We are currently monitoring things very closely and, where necessary, will cancel the season tickets, so denying entry to the stadium on the day.

"It also goes without saying that we need as many Rovers fans inside Ewood Park on Saturday as we can.

"Fervent home support has worked wonders for us in recent years and we need it again now"

so how many caftards have bought tickets then? :)

Used to, not this time though. Depressing sitting with the Blackburn fans.

Never come across such a miserable set of supporters anywhere.

You have to wear blue to blend in and if you accidentally cheer at the wrong time you'll find about 200 folk turning round and glaring angrily at you.

Suspicious lot over there when they have a full stadium. :)

Is this on SS1?

Hope we put out a full strength team and put the League to bed. Then we do what we want against Blackpool and avoid injuries.

It's probably gonna be a mix-and-match team, like the CL Semi 2nd leg. At this stage, SAF is going to be very conscious about unnecessary injuries and fatigue.

It is difficult to get the balance right because on one hand you want to rest as many players as possible for the final so that you avoid injuries and burnout. On the other hand you want to keep momentum and not have too big a gap between games for your star players

after this match, there are 8 days to the Blackpool match where we will play squad players.

it is 2 weeks to the CL Final.

more than enough time to rest.

Play the very best team and win the title.

yes. 2 away wins, with a home draw in the middle and most of the players will have a nice long summer break.

we'll be playing the likes of Gibson, Scholes, Fletcher, Berbatov, Owen, Rafael, Fabio, O'Shea, Smalling...come to think, not too shabby

VdS
O'Shea, Smalling, Vidic, Evans
Nani, Fletcher, Scholes, Gibson, Fabio
Berbatov

I'm so looking forward to enjoying this game after the stress of the last month

The gap is way too far though. Even a whole week's worth of rest after playing Blackpool should be enough for the players. I'd say play our best team this weekend, and rest on the next one against Blackpool.

No its not, you play the best team and get the league won, then you give the team you intend to start against Barca a 2 week break.

Its very simple.

Exactly. It's very simple. In a way we NEED to play our strongest team against Blackburn, just to make sure we don't have to against Blackpool.

Everytime we've won the PL on the last day we've gone on to win the Cup Final we've played after that.

So, can a loss be a win?

can't rest easy yet until we get the point we need against blackburn

Van Der Sar
Da Silva-Ferdinand-Vidic-Evra
Valencia-Carrick-Anderson-Nani
Rooney
Chicharito

And the 19 is done.

I'd be happy with that team team to be honest, even if you are sitting on the fence with who you would play at right back :)

Carrick and Fletcher, with Nani and Valencia on the wings. Rooney behind Chicharito. Fabio, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra. Van der Sar.

Get this point and have a break next weekend.

We can't rest any players, ffs!

I think we should wrap Ferdinand up in Cotton wool before the Final now, Vidic and Smalling will do the job, Then play Smalling and Evans against Blackpool

Yeah. But not only that. Just as AFO quite correctly pointed out, you don't want to give the team that is doing well a 3 week break till the final. We need to gain momentum, not lose it.

Wolves boss no problems with Man Utd fielding a different team

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is relaxed should Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson rest key players for the final game of the season against relegation threatened Blackpool.

The Reds chief has done the same against West Ham and Hull on the final day of previous league campaigns and it could impact on Wolves' own battle for top flight survival.

But McCarthy said: "I'm not bothered. I can't do anything about it. United beat Schalke in the Champions League with a weakened team. They slapped four past them.

"I don't know if Manchester United have got a weak team to be honest. It doesn't bother me.

"I doubt very much Alex will want to lose any games at home. Sorry, what a stupid statement. I know he won't want to lose any games at home.

"They are unbeaten and he won't want that to change. He will, I am sure, play a team that will win the game.

"I can't do anything about it. If anyone is thinking I've got an axe to grind about it, no I haven't. I've no axe to grind.

"You pick your team as you seem fit."

Have been a bit of a bogey team in the past but given their current form this should be a 3 pointer for us, then who knows Fergie might have to keep his promise to Ollie and play himself!

Score Prediction Blackburn 1 United 2

I think Rio needs one more game. If he doesn't play against Blackburn, then he would not have played for three weeks and who knows how his fitness will be come May 28th.

Best possible team against Blackburn and if we get that points, we will have 2 weeks to prepare the players. As the poster above said, I don't think a 3 week rest for any of our players will do any good.

So hopefully we win or draw on saturday and then play the likes of Kuszczak, Evans, Smalling, Gibson, Scholes, Berbatov, Owen vs Blackpool.

It's not a problem for Rio.

He missed whole February and March, came back in April to play Chelsea away in Champions League quarterfinals and was absolutely terrific.

There's a few players that need the games if they're to get a medal - Valencia etc... so bear that in mind!

Valencia is the only player with less than ten games that can get enough games for a medal now. He only needs one appearance in the last two games, even off the bench will do. He would almost certainty be awarded a medal even if he fell short of ten games because of his horrific injury.

Kuszhack
Rafael Smalling Evans Fabio
Valencia Fletcher Gibson Obertan
Berbatov Owen

Rooney, Hernandez, Giggs, Scholes, Nani, VDS and Vidic on the bench to scare Blackburn if we need to chase the game in the second half.
