Tuesday 25th January
Barclays Premier League
Bloomfield Road, Blackpool
KO: 1930 BST

this be a tricky one but blackpool has lost their form of late..

2-2

Need to win somehow and increase the lead now but I think it might be a familiar story away. But if Sunderland could beat them there today so should we.

Can't see Giggs starting consecutive games.

I think either Berba or Rooney gets rested after going 90 against Birmingham, and since it's Rooney who's had fitness issues, I'll guess him.

It's probably a good thing we haven't played them til now. They'll surely be running out of steam with the squad they've got by now.

The Scholes-Ando two man midfield has been a dismal failure almost every time we've used it. It was good the very first time, and there was one other match where it did ok, but every other time it's been horrendous. I don't want to see it again.

Hopefully Carrick will be fit to play next to either Ando or Scholes. If not, then Fletch can take his spot.

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: Rafael
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Nani
CM: Fletcher
CM: Scholes
LM: Giggs

CF: Rooney
CF: Berbatov

Subs: PIG, O'Shea, Evans, Fabio, Gibson, Owen, Hernandez

1-2 to Utd, Rooney & Berbatov with our goals

Hopefully pick up some decent momentum after the win today, and go on to score a few at Bloomfield road. Won't be an easy game by any means, but we should definitely win.

but that's why he was subbed off today in 55th minute.

I think he'll be rested against southampton, not on tuesday.

"it was a good scoreline at half-time, i was able to take patrice evra off to give him a break and bring young fabio on. And then i was able to take ryan off because we've got a big game on tuesday."

Won't be easy as we have been average away from home and Blackpool need to start winning again sometime soon, but we should be able to at least get a draw there. A win would be fantastic.

A must-win game for us, one of the easiest away games remaining considering Blackpool's weak defensive record. At last we should be able to transform some of our terrific home form into a convincing away performance - on paper we're by far the better team, but Blackpool play decent football and may cause us problems similar to West Brom.

Van der Sar
Rafael - Ferdinand - Vidic (c) - Evra
Nani - Scholes - Fletcher - Giggs
Rooney - Berbatov

I guess around 5-6 away wins out of 9 will be required to win the league this season, so we better start on Tuesday. I'm confident, come on United!

We need to win 3-4 more away games. I said a while ago that we would have to get about 18 points in 11 games we had left at the time, and win all home games. We got 4 in the two that followed so we now need 14 more points. It could be done with 4 wins and 2 draws or 3 wins and 5 draws.

No way we are going to win six, or even five.

We got 48pts already, think 32 more are going to be enough. 16 games left, 7 at home and 9 away (is it right?). If we win all home games then even 11 away from home might be enough.

Blackpool have been inconsistent as hell all season long, going from impressive away wins to embarrassing home defeata - then again looking at their squad you cannot say any defeat would be embarrassing, it's astonishing how they have managed to amass so many points.

I'm not so sure mate. Arsenal's fixtures look quite easy and while they tend to collapse in the run-in they look much better this season IMHO. I'd say it's fair to assume we'll win five or our remaining home games and draw two considering our home form - that's 65 points then.

Leaving the obvious three difficult away games (Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool) aside we still have to play Blackpool, Wolves, Wigan, Blackburn, Newcastle and West Ham on their pitch. I'd say we'll beat Blackpool, Wigan and West Ham and will have trouble at all the other locations... 13 points sounds about right, we always have a shock defeat somewhere in there every season. 78 points, how many can we take from the Emirates, Stamford Bridge and Anfield? If, and that's a big if, we manage to win five out of six of the 'easier' away games we're basically home and dry, especially if we manage to esape beating at the Emirates too. Do you really think that 80 points will be enough?

they won promotion last year- they were fairly unknown until some point also their enthusiasm carried them for a while they will struggle next year. look at birmingham- a similar case imo.
