Going mental over there ATM. The ignorance from some of them is astounding. They are declaring it as a nothing trophy on 1 hand & then berating Pep for playing a 'weakened' team in the tie at OT.

A nothing trophy? Before winning the FA Cup against Stoke in 2011, the League Cup was their last trophy since 1976. They'd have killed for another one when United fans were mocking them with the banner counting the years since then. Suddenly all billy big bollocks and too good for it now? No, still small-timers at their core that would begrudge United any silverware.
Don't jinx it, they could still win the Champions League and FA Cup. Actually I think they have a pretty good chance of winning the FA Cup.It's already more silverware than they are going to get this season.
I think you have cancelled out my jinx so all is well again!Don't jinx it, they could still win the Champions League and FA Cup. Actually I think they have a pretty good chance of winning the FA Cup.
And they shat their pants at the prospect of winning it in 2010 only for us to turf them out in the semi-final.

I am surprised that we are all surprised at the media love in of the rags, they are the -: Obama, Mendala, U2, Cold Play, we are the Thacher, Farage, Daily Mail we are the reviled, they are the the good we are the bad.
Be aware the media rule people's minds, not just in sport, but in all things!
Just seen the news on Sky , did the rags just win the World Cup or WW3 or something, it looked like a typical 14 v 11 game they usually get, good goal disallowed, Rojo 2 footing and no card, Lingard 2 tackles the same but only 1 yellow, tossers.
so. much. salt.Their victory will be tainted by beating our reserves.
Take a look at this one from pg 63Just to keep the happy vibe and good humour flowing...

Some real gems in there AND some extremely bitter, bitter Berties!
Enjoy...
This coming from a fan of an oil baron's play thing.I said it before, I will say it again, that game is a reflection of life, the bad, greedy, over praised elite, will always win. Nothing is right, everything is unjust and so it will always be ;-(
He has a point though. It definitely would have been a lot more impressive if we'd won the cup after losing to their reserves.

So in 12 months, the League Cup has gone from a Mickey Mouse trophy to the greatest competition in club football.
How very strange.
The amount of Rag K_nts in this thread is Nauseating.
I think it's a given they wil win everything within the power of the elite
Winning the League Cup isn't vital to anything, no one cares about it at all, except people like Maureen who like to win the easiest possible trophy to pad their resume.

Not really. It's more about L'pool, City fielded a strong team (even Arsenal? losing to Birmingham in final) and got done by some minnows while we got the pride trophy for fielding our ReserveTo be honest we used to laugh at a Mickey Mouse Cup, didnt we?
I'll give them that. They've a much more refined way about them over there on RAWK than what you find on Bluemoon.I read few pages yesterday but it got boring quickly. It is just same, "rag, rag.." drivel filled with extreme bitterness with no sense of humor. Boring compared to RAWK who always have funny gems, even their pot shots are funny sometimes and of course the poetic nature of posts on RAWK.
To be honest we used to laugh at a Mickey Mouse Cup, didnt we?
Not me.To be honest we used to laugh at a Mickey Mouse Cup, didnt we?
I think im going to have a salt bath. I heard it's good for the skin.I'm basking in the salt. It's glorious.
Love a good salty bask.
Not me.
I am a sucker for trophies. Even the club world cup.
This trophy was a catalyst for our success in 2006 too.
that 2006 Cup was definitively a turning point for us. TBH i never understood why many on here ridicule League Cup and Community Shield. In many countries it's a trophy with prestige.
Not really, but it wasn't a tournament for our first team until the Semi's, unless we got a traditional rival in an earlier round. Developing the kids and playing the rest of the squad was the M.O. for the tournament from the early 00's until around '08, and then it took on a life of its own as a serious competition for everyone and pretty much lost its lesser status. To be honest we used to laugh at a Mickey Mouse Cup, didnt we?

I think the FA cup losing a lot of its status as the domestic cup played its part, too. The Milk Cup was a nothing trophy when the FA Cup was god, but the way the FA Cup has nosedived from what it used to be has changed everything.
the salt market has plummeted from all the salt in that thread. here are few more gems
What's the mood like on there? Do they think they're over their shit spell?
