I can see Valencia becoming a fan favorite, and i see why he was rated so highly by Bruce. He is a completely no-nonsense, direct winger, blessed with an incredible explosive pace (very few people have this, Lennon is one of them). He doesn't waste time dawdling on the ball like Nani, or trying too many tricks ala Ronaldo. Yet another Fergie masterstroke.

Surely he should report back to the club in good fitness? I know players use the preseason to get ready for the season, but it should be about getting match fitness...not basic fitness.

fabio looks like he has better delivery with his left (weaker) foot than even evra with his left foot. fabio's quality with the ball is unquestionable. scary that he could be a cut above rafael.
Good first half. Fabio and Valencia (considering he has just started playing with the lads) have been bloody impressive, especially Fabio, he seems to be a fantastic prospect. I haven't really recognised Cathcart either which is usually a good thing with defenders...
This pre-season really turns out to be excellent with Owen, Valencia and Fabio (basically three new signings) looking the like the real deal and some other players (Berbatov/Nani) improving. I can see Nani and Valencia forming a fantastic partnership on both wings...

His corners have been fairly poor (well the second one could claim to be 'ok' at a stretch), but otherwise he's doing well. Fast, direct, taking on players and putting in some tasty crosses, plus the goal of course.
Oh, did anyone else laugh at Valencia's reaction to Anderson's goal? Valencia was the first one to reach him after the celebration, but just as he reached Anderson he kind of stopped and started walking away. Obviously thinking something along the lines of 'well it was only a pre-season goal, nothing to be excited about'. Then everybody else just swarmed Anderson, realising it was his first goal. I reckon Valencia would've just been looking at the celebration thinking 'bloody hell, if they get this excited about a preseason game imagine the celebration in the league'.

neither him nor macheda have used the ball to good effect thus far... they just arent keeping possession well enough with back to goal to get anything started
Kiko's off the ball play is impressive, he makes good runs, unfortunately he didn't get any through ball.

He was meant to get 45 minutes but I think the Brown injury ended that. I thought Vida might have come on for Brown as there were only 5 minutes or so left of the first half but Rio did.
