Bolton Wanderers vs. Manchester United

I think United will overrrun them, but Anelka can always be a threat at the back, but if Bolton do set anything up United will hit them on the counter

I hope I get to see another one of these:D

That goal sums up everything I love about Manchester United.

Anyway.

Anderson's been class, but I'm really looking forward to seeing Carrick and Hargreaves in a 2 man midfield. Sometimes I think Carrick plays better with a more defensive minded midfielder behind him. When he's with Scholes, he has to take a more defensive role which doesn't suit him much.

I'm thinking. With Tevez probably not due to arrive until tomorrow, and self admittedly feeling tired, how about this?

-----------------------Van Der Sar---------------------

----Brown---------Ferdinand---Pique------------Evra---

---------------Carrick-------------Hargreaves-----------

Basically a 4-3-3 with Carrick Anderson and Hargreaves all in the middle, but finally giving Anderson the freedom to roam offensively, something I'd really like to see. I honestly can't see any PL team winning that midfield battle.

I'd rather not risk getting a tired Tevez injured against anything like Bolton while Rooney is still out.

And Vidic should shurely be in if he doesn't have to play for Serbia.

Btw it's amazing that Ronaldo is the only one of that bunch that was playing for his nationa team!! :wenger:

Works for me, Bergo. I think Vidic will play, though. Fergie isn't going to let him play in a meaningless match.

Tevez will play. I've just told him so. . . he said 'no worry, Spooneth'

teves got banned, surely a weeks rest from international duty warrants him a start on saturday?!

Looks the biz if the need be, good team easily able to ebat Bolton and will get to see Anderson further forward with the support.
Carrick destroyed Bolton with his passing last season, hoping for more from the big-chinned Geordie this time around....

Vidic race for fitness

Nemanja Vidic is a doubt for Manchester United's trip to Bolton tomorrow after pulling out of Serbia's Euro 2008 qualifier against Poland with a back injury.

The United defender flew back to Manchester from Belgrade yesterday and will undergo intensive treatment.

Portugal's draw with Finland ended Serbia's hopes of qualifying for next summer's tournament - thus exempting Vidic from their final group match against Kazakhstan tomorrow.

That'd be awesome, but I don't think we'll get to see it.

Tevez has been cleared fit and Rooney will return against Fulham on 3rd december :)

But here's the squad that traveled to Bolton:

Man Utd (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Brown, O'Shea, Ferdinand, Vidic, Pique, Evans, Evra, Simpson, Ronaldo, Hargreaves, Anderson, Fletcher, Eagles, Carrick, Giggs, Nani, Saha, Tevez.

No posts since 4am. There's a game on today, fire up cnuts

----------VDS------------
Brown--Rio--Vida--Evra
Ronaldo-Carrick-Anderson-Giggs
-----Saha-----Tevez------

Bolton are a good team. Carrick over Hargreaves for me and Tevez and Saha upfront is a must. If one's tired, bring on Nani and Hargreaves. Pique for Vida if he's not fully fit

What's wrong with hargo.

What's wrong with hargo.

Nothing. I personally would prefer Carrick. IMO he offers more, especially going forward, is a more complete midfielder and last season, he played excellent and Hargreaves hasnt justified yet that he should get a place in the starting line-up

I really hope its a Carrick - Anderson midfield today. Carrick played fecking brilliant in this fixture last season with some outrageous passes.

We should drill them really.

Interesting to see whether Hargreaves starts - if he doesn't, should we begin to worry that we've signed a player for £20 million that will play in 10 games all season?

Anyways.

............VDS...................
Wes...Rio...Pique...Evra
CR7...Hargo..Anderson..Giggs
.........Tevez...Saha.....

5-1 to us.

Saha, Ronaldox2, Tevez x2.

Anelka

For the most part I agree Carrick is a superior footballer, but I think we need a bit of stability in midfield at this time. Hargo and Anderson are starting to develop an understanding, Carrick-Anderson would be a new combo.

Don't want to see Anderson in behind the striker. He's a midfielder, playing him there will only limit his ability to impact on the game. He'll probably end up just running around like a headless chicken.

Stick Giggs in there, with Nani and Ronaldo. They can all swap about easily enough. Anderson along with either Carrick or Hargreaves in the middle. Hargreaves did pretty well aganst Blackburn

Agreed Anderson isn't good with his back to goal.

Silly thing to say. Both Anderson and Carrick costed us around £17m aswel. We will play them all a fair amount this season.

Don't get me wrong.

I rate Hargreaves and want him to do well for us. The only slight doubt I have is to with his injuries...it does seem he plays a couple of games and is out. I don't want that to happen to him, I want him to be fit and available for selection, same for Carrick, Anderson and Scholes....but I'm not convinced on Hargreaves' injury problems.

I do hope I am completely wrong, and that he is fit for the next 5 seasons and not even get a cold

I'd like to see Hargreaves and Anderson play today. Can't wait until he starts getting forward a bit more

I'd like to see that line up, Tevez is clearly knackered so i'd only use him for the last half hour.
