Yep. To be fair it's been a bit confused by his video where he talks about "interventions" by doctors over a 48 hour period which otherwise "could have gone either way". If you can get past the budget Churchill moments, the video will explain. If not, watch from 03:50 where he explains a bit about the procedures and according to him where his life was saved by the non-UK doctors (with absolutely no sense of irony).

Pretty much stunned with a few people here tbh.

Now I can understand where these crack pot conspiracy theories appear from. I'm sure someone else mentioned PP and Mino engineered Covid-19 in their lab to get the Euros cancelled and run down his contract.

I'm not sure BJ makes some decisions on his tod. I don't know parliamentary law (sounds dull) but I thought I'd read somewhere a PM can't implement policy without the backing of ministerial depts (so they/cabinet agree or you face cabinet mutiny/resignations)

I'm sure the Govt have made mistakes (the pace of PPE springs to mind), but the timeline about strategy based on what the scientists/SAGE told the cabinet has been reported (Reuters, not The Daily Mail). I guess we can challenge whether they should have listened (or maybe challenged more based on other countries experiences) but that's what experts are for? .. if the Govt hadn't followed SAGE advice and it went wrong, they'd've been hammered.

After ICL came out with their report/predictions, they changed tack. Arguably, the lockdown could have been quicker (after the report) but I'm guessing closing down a country is not something you can do overnight.

That’s essentially what happened. The lockdown could have been so much quicker, there was enough data from other countries to show that they work. Just look at Ireland’s data, who have similar ICU beds per capita, and a much lower death rate.
 
Any signs this might change some of his views? Could be some silver lining if he suddenly forces his party to recognise the importance and under-funding of the NHS that just saved his life, for example.

Imagine being a Prime Minister who needs to personally benefit from something to accept that it has value?That would almost make him even more of a cnut, despite leading to the right result.
 
Glad he is all right but being saved and nursed back to health by a fellow European from Portugal and a woman from New Zealand having borders open and working in harmony with other countries seems not such a bad idea, couldn't make this up.

Why? He’ll not have seen any of the bad side. I guarantee everyone looking after him had all the PPE they needed.
