Apparently Leicester didn’t mind if Rodgers waited until the end of the season to sign. It was Rodgers who apparently wanted to sign now, which is why Celtic fans are starting to become angry.

To be honest, if I was in charge of the Leagues, I’d have attempted to combine the UK leagues in the age of High Speed Rail & Cheap flights.
The Premier League has destroyed Scottish football. It’s not PL arrogance. It’s just money.
Most runaway Championship sides would piss the SPL. Most competitive Championship sides would challenge for the league.
The Rangers relegation has shown that a 3-5 year period of adjustment would probably be acceptable for Celtic to equalise into sustainability into a UK league.
The SPL is a European irrelevance now and there’s zero chance that it ever arrests that slide.
If nothing else they could have instigated some form of protectionism in the decade passed and attempted to have a demand for X amount of Scottish players in SPL sides or match day squads.
It’s a monumental mess.
Edit : Shouldn’t need to be said, but Leicester would obliterate the SPL.

Firstly media are reporting Leicester were happy to wait until summer. Which means Rodgers pushed for a move in the middle of our season when we have a good deal more to play for this year than Leicester - when that opportunity for next year at Leicester wasn't going away.
Hardly anybody thought he was staying for 10 in a row - many thought he would go in the summer but most thought he'd see the season out for the treble-treble.
Secondly Rodgers spouted a lot of stuff about being a boyhood Celtic fan and loving the club and not seeing it as a stepping stone. He was worshipped. Then he left in one day and pretty much didn't say bye to the fans many of whom backed him strongly against the board in big tifos.
He's friends with people at Leicester and it seems he's been lined up for this and known it was a possibility. At the same time he's plugged multiple gaps within the team with 6 month loan signings who will soon go. We don't have a permanent manager now who can help look at and fix those gaps. It's felt now his mind has been away already for a while and that has lead to short term thinking.
At the same time we have Boyata, Ntcham and other key players who want to go who have at times seemed to be at odds with Brendan over perceived broken promises (see Dembele's twitter ).
Danny McGrain, a Celtic legend and member of coaching staff under Brendan, has come forward to say Brendan made up this story about them for his autobiography.
Its just emerging that he was a bit fake and it's all been coming out over the course of 48 hours while we're preparing for a big game.
I don't think anyone questions that Rodgers delivered value for Celtic it's more about being so careless in how he leaves us when he's claimed to care so deeply."

On what planet did people not already know Rodgers is firmly up his own arse and only looks out for himself? I’m more amazed at the shock people have at this.

I've just read through that list, and I can't believe all 20 quotes are real. I genuinely thought SteveJ had placed a few parodies in there, but no, all genuinely quotes from Brendan Rodgers. Think it’s pretty harsh to criticise his European record.
This season they lost to AEK, who aren’t a bad side and then managed to scrape through an incredibly difficult group. Salzburg and Leipzig are both very good sides.
Lost to Zenit last year who are also a good side, won a team home. They had a ridiculously hard group in the CL and finished above Anderlecht, which realistically was the best they could expect.
Season before they again had probably the hardest group. Got 2 draws with Man City (who if I remember correctly, won 10 games in a row prior to the first draw)
I do think he is incredibly naive in how he sets his teams up in Europe at times. Realistically though, barring maybe beating AEK, what more could he have done given the opposition? I’m not a big Rodgers fan at all but his European record with Celtic was nowhere near as bad as you made out.
