Brendan Rodgers | Rejoins Celtic on 3 year deal

Brendan should go back to Liverpool, his spiritual home.

Nah. Our form fell off a cliff because we replaced Suarez with Rickie Lambert and Balotelli.

Not true. You were on a great unbeaten run, only a couple of points off 4th, but then the run-in started, and the fairytale of Gerrard lifting the FA Cup one last time while leading them to CL qualification was filling the media, and after not featuring as much, he was suddenly back in the team. You won 36% of the games he started that season, and 69% of those he didn't.

Not that you were amazing that season, and I agree wholeheartedly that Rodgers can't be trusted with transfers, but he was definitely fecked over at least a bit by Gerrard hijacking the 2014/15 season.

We have a superior backline (been awhile since i've seen leicester with such a poor cb pairing in evans/soyuncu) and a younger front line with much higher ceiling. The biggest difference is that you have a proper striker in good form, but dont let me get in the way of your celebrating a heavy drubbing of the mighty Newcastle.
We’ll have to agree to disagree on the back line. Slabheads a player, though not an 80 mill player, but Lindelof is terrible.

The thread is about Rodgers. He has arrived, taken an under performing team, got it playing attractive football and winning matches. Whats not to like?

No team in the prem has conceded less this season, so it is a strange view you have.

I think some people overestimate Manchester United in the current footballing world.

You've paid £80 million for a center half who is just as close to being 'World Class' as he is 'Average'. You've appointed 'an old mate', sacked by Cardiff, as the manager of the 'biggest club in the world'. Today, you're being linked with a january move for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.

You can throw around tags like 'Richest club in the world'......'Biggest club in the world' all you like.
But they're not accurate anymore.
Just like the similar lines that come out of Liverpool were completely obsolete 5-10 years ago.....Until recently under Klopp.

You're not in position to turn your nose up at Rodgers when you have the worst manager in the league at your club.

Yes, we are in that position. And we do turn our nose up at him.

I'd rather give Nicky Butt a go than Rodgers. We know Rodgers isn't good enough for our standard. Ole and Butt are still unknowns, therefore better.

Good luck with him though, hope he sticks with you after the inevitable relegation a few seasons from now.

You're really a glutton for punishment, aren't you?

Big clubs are big clubs, and huge clubs are huge clubs. It takes minimum 5-10 years and massive investment for anyone to join this group, but it takes an awful lot longer to leave it.

Players and managers will always be drawn to the likes of United because of our history, our fanbase, our resources. This is not arrogance, its just the way it is.

You misunderstand. I wasn't pushing him as a candidate. I was scraping the bottom of the barrel, and saying I'd rather have that in as manager than fecking Brenton.

I understood mate. It was just a temporary amusement imagining our team under Nicky Butt (hope we didn't jinxed it, though). I can imagine the press doing some puns with his name in case of a good or bad result.

What a mess of a post.

Would rather have Moysey back than the clueless cnut that is managing your team.

What a poor and misinformed post. Quite embarrassing actually.

I would suggest you to refrain from such ridiculous statements when we currently have the 2nd best defense in the league with a tougher run of games than yours. You clearly never watched us and both the CBs you mentioned are doing an excellent job.

Yes I agree 100%. Manchester United will always be a big club and a destination for top players but It's strange how Newcastle, Villa & Leeds are still considered "big" clubs though after years of losing.

Yes we are, the man isnt a manager for the highest level. That's what we need. We can't go around trying to hiring someone cause they are better than what we've got cause that'll lead to nowhere.

Why are people like this allowed on here?

Why are people like this allowed on here?
This place is now full of this lot criticising/mocking/taking pot shots at Manchester United. Despite their team being Leicester. You'd think we're some traditional rival of theirs given the importance they seem to give United. Pretty absurd. And amusing, given, you know, it's fecking Leicester.

Let them take pride in being better than Manchester United. Says a lot about them when they need a club to be at its absolute worst to come around looking like gloating fecks.

Players will still easily swap Leicester for Manchester but yeah, let them have some fun. That's all they can manage.

Tbf are most of them being that unreasonable? Basically what they are saying about Maguire is correct ie very good, top ball player that could be better defensively but over all not £80m worth.

There’s literally nothing wrong with what he said, you can disagree with it but it’s hardly like he said United are vastly inferior to Leicester.

Yeah he’s not wrong honestly. Harsh maybe, but that is the unfortunate truth that we as fans have to deal with. People throwing the  at him seriously need a reality check. We’re an absolute mess right now and this won’t get any better if we keep making the same crap decisions.

We used to take the absolute piss out of opposition fans for the state their clubs were in and the nonsense that they used to write. I don’t see how we’re any better at the moment. The whole “too big to fall” shit is one of the most infuriating things I read amongst a portion of our fans. If we keep going the way we are now, I won’t be the least surprised if we become another Milan or pre Klopp Liverpool.

Because this isn't Bluemoon or RAWK. Thankfully.
Thankfully! Sure, I like a bit of banter. I read loads of forums, but this one is the least,” one eyed”. Very honest and informed for the most part. It reminds me sometimes of readingthe old, “When Saturday Comes”.
Bluemoon, however, is a pile of shit. I’ve never read so much hate filled paranoia in one place. Some of those boys have a real problem.
Still say we had your shreddies down for Harry, though!

Nope. Most of them are level headed and fair. I'm only talking about the gloating ones.

I think RedCafe should become a general football forum. It seems that there are more people that hate Manchester United here than the ones who love it so the phrase "the leading Manchester United forum" should be removed.

They've all got a chip on their shoulder.

Back on topic, watching today's game, Leicester are losing and will lose this game, but it's so evident that he's a very good coach.

Really wish we had someone of at least his level coaching our lot.

Agreed.

There's obviously some truth in it, but ever since he's joined - as well as some other Leicester fans - he's/they've been constantly saying we're rubbish, you're not an attractive club anymore, etc, and it's tiresome.

Like @amolbhatia50k says, it comes from the Maguire transfer where they've obviously got a chip on their shoulder.

Tiresome, but not entirely untrue.
