With Rodgers, you have to ignore the bits where he's sitting in front of a microphone, completely lacking any self-awareness and trying to craft a mythology around himself and focus on all of the other stuff that makes him a really good football manager.
He did a good job at Swansea and Liverpool, even if he had a few flaws. Why a team like Arsenal, whose owners aren't even pretending like they want the club to win titles, didn't at least take a punt makes no sense. He'd proven he could get a team to do well in the Prem.
Maybe if they offered him massive piles of cash, but I think their choice of Arteta shows that they weren't looking to pay big money for whomever they got.

Surely the only clubs he should/would consider leaving Leicester for are City, Chelsea, United, Liverpool... or any team with a realistic chance of being in the CL. But then the expectations would be to win the league/cl , anything else would be deemed a failure. Although at United that’s arguable if the past year or two are anything to judge by.

Yes. Pound for pound he’s done a far better job at Leicester than Ole has at United.

I would say Rodgers (if he gets top four) and Moyes are probably the managers of the season. I think those two have exceeded expectations the most.
West Ham look to be falling over themselves in the last few games. In a context of a team that was battling relegation not long ago, sure they’re doing well relative to that. However, they could easily end up behind Spurs and Everton and finish 9th, which isn’t manager of the year material really. If Leicester hold on for a top 4 finish and with the FA cup, I’d say Rodgers should get it over Pep.

Yeah it’s very easy to get clubs like Leicester into a CL spot and win the FA cup. Which is why we see it so often. You’re also absolutely right Ole has not been supported one bit, £80m for Maguire, £50m for Bruno, etc etc etc.

Well there are certainly question marks in terms of can he do it if he is not the underdog / expected to win. For example look at his record in Europe for both Liverpool and Leicester.
Why are people so eager to shower him with praise? That win had very little to do with him.

He has won the FA cup with Leicester, no bigger achievement than Martinez winning it with Wigan. Other than that he has almost won the league with Liverpool, and almost gotten top 4 with Leicester. Now I'm not downplaying his achievements, because he has done more than what was expected of him. But as of why we would welcome him here, I see no major arguments.
Leicester imo, is a better job than any in the PL bar United, Liverpool and City. Spurs and Arsenal have higher ambitions and pressurr but worse leadership and Chelsea will sack him within 2-3 years regardless. He's already been at Liverpool so unless United or City offer him the job or something else changes, I think he's best off at Leicester.

I'd rather an up and coming manager like Tuchel and Nagelsmann were when Chelsea and Bayern hired them. Both may well be sacked by then so maybe they'll be available anyway.
That said, we could do worse than Rodgers. I don't care about his past at Liverpool. He'll just have more motivation to do well here for revenge.

He's alright. I don't think he shows anything amazing tactically as Pep / Klopp do. Don't think Ole --> Rodgers is any sort of upgrade, at best equal caliber.

He's a good manager and easily the best manager the UK has produced in recent times. That says a lot more about the quality of British managers than the quality of Rodgers though.
What's wrong with you? He beat us and Chelsea to win the FA Cup. Most cups take some elements of luck but to go all the way is highly commendable, and to do so as underdogs even more so. Not to mention his consistency in the league, taking Leicester to pushing top 4 in back to back seasons, which is a place their wage bill and transfer spends give them no right to be in.
When you consider how Leicester were barely relevant to top 6 finishes before he joined, and consider where he's cemented them now, it's hard to argue against him being a very good manager. That's before we get to silverware achievement.
