Brendan Rodgers | Rejoins Celtic on 3 year deal

So did Rodgers at Liverpool as soon as Suarez left.

Arsenal, right now, look better organized than any Rodgers team ever has. They are on to something.
Taking the piss with this post? Arteta finished 8th last season, Rodgers 5th with a team with far less resources. Rodgers challenged for the title with Liverpool at a time where they were pretty much a midtable team and was one slip away from winning it. Arteta has a hard time making it to an European competition, let alone top 4. It's a joke to compare Arteta to Rodgers and I'm not Rodgers' biggest fan by any means.

No. I try looking at how a team looks when they are off the ball, and how they look when the win it back. Leicester are, and have been for a while, quite similar to Man Utd under OGS. They are not well-organized off the ball. They dont press well. Neither in a low or high block. They dont transition well either when they win the ball back, and their build up-play is awful.
I am now convinced you haven't actually watched Leicester in the past 3 seasons.

Such a weak argument, in my opinion. Man Utd always had quite a bit of resources. Look at our league finishes between 86 and 92 with Ferguson in charge. Imagine applying the same rationale and logic when evaluating Ferguson. You would obviously underrate him compared to quite a few managers using the same logic.

In other words, it is way too simplistic and outcome biased analysis. I’m quite confident that we will agree in three years time that Arteta is vastly superior to Rodgers. In fact, it will not even be a debate.

Do they have 11 players fit to play? As per FPL
Soyuncu
Pereira
Evans
Amatey
Bertrand
Justin
Fofana
Ndidi
Vardy
Nacho
Daka

All are out injured or International duty

Maddison and Barnes have knocks.

Stuck up for him plenty recently but this is sort of result that will get a mutual consent agreement sometime before or during May.

Woeful way for them to exit competition as cup holders and not like they've put second string out either.

He's done a very good job there but classic case of good manager taking them as far as he can.

Hes won the FA cup with Leicester already. Hes too cool for this tournament.

If this guy is still on the United shortlist, it shows just how clueless our board are

A coach with his weaknesses coming into a team with our issues is a recipe for disaster.

The level of incompetence our board shows, they'll be rubbing their hands in glee that there won't be compensation to pay so I'd say Brenda is right in the frame for the OT job!

The more worrying thing though is that we seem to be regressing under Rodgers. In our first 5th place season, we played better football than the one that followed it (I think we were more hampered by injuries during the first 5th placed season). After his amazing start, the football seems to be getting worse season after season.

I repeat my previous comment.

With Poch and Brendan seemingly on the way out of their respective clubs, the United boardroom will be rubbing their hands with glee at not having to pay any compensation.

He just looks to have gone a bit stale there this season, but he's been a good manager for them, a victim of setting the bar higher than it would normally be probabaly, so it doesn't take much of a drop off to make him look like a bad manager all of a sudden.

I wouldn't want him at United, but when Conte strops off, or West Ham decide that they are better than Moyes, then I could see him going there and winning them something finally.

I can give you £10m reasons a year ...
Yeah, he’s way too expensive to sack. I kind of think Leicester were almost hoping that he did well enough for United or City to pay his ridiculous buy-out clause/pay a good wedge for him either this year or as Pep’s successor

If he becomes our new manager then that’s it for me. Might actually be a blessing to not have to concentrate on football anymore. No more mood swings, no more spending two hours in the middle of a sunny Saturday watching another dull performance, and no more misery when Liverpool's keeper scores in the 95 minute and secures them a Champions League spot which where otherwise slipping out of their hands.

Leicester's next game in the league is against Liverpool at Anfield and if they lose that one their already slim chances of finishing high enough on the table to secure European football next season are going to be even slimmer. Should concentrate mostly on Conference League now, if they win that, and they are favourites, that means instant qualification to Europa League next season. And a trophy, another one over last few years. Rodgers does not have great record in European competitions though. Would be funny if Celtic of all teams knock him out

its West Ham at home on Sunday after that and we just don't match up with them, I really can see this being the week he goes

Out of steam, probably. End of the cycle and so forth - pretty standard stuff.

If he goes to the right team next, he could easily regain his reputation (play some nice football, punch above his/their weight, the usual). Meaning - I doubt he's done, it's just a matter of his time being up at that particular club.

(And, no - United would not be the right team).

Other than experience which I’m sure helps in some situations. I genuinely don’t really think he’s developed much as a manager since his inaugural PL season with Swansea a decade back. A very good manager no doubt, but still plagued by the same weaknesses.

Awful manager.

He obviously isn't an awful manager by any meaningful definition.

He doesn't seem capable of transcending a certain level, though. Which is why we should stay well clear of him.

Has he evolved in any way with regard to defensive setup? Last time I watched Leicester I was thinking they looked very shaky - just as before, and just as Liverpool did when he was there.

He's low-key every bit as much a short term manager as most, three jobs in a row performances have dived off a cliff in (full) season three.

He's excellent (all be it not world class) in the short term though.

It is clear he has struggled to get the best out of his team this season but in context Leicester have overachieved somewhat in the past couple of seasons as they obviously do not have the 5th best squad in the PL despite finishing there. This season the wheels have come off largely as a result of injuries and also signs of decline in a couple of their starters. Fofana has been a massive miss as he oozed class last season and his absence in conjunction with other injuries at the back has made them very shaky, the panic buy of Vestergard has not worked out as he has been exposed as nowhere near PL quality away from Southampton.

I don't want him here but I would be surprised if Leicester ditch him after one middling season, especially if he does manage to make some progress in the Conference League. I imagine there will be a clearout in the summer starting with Tielemans who quite clearly wants to be somewhere else at this point and of course Fofana was attracting interest before he was hurt and could still generate a big fee this summer. I would expect Brendan will be given a chance to reshape the squad in the summer and kick off next season unless they go into a complete freefall between now and May.

no one yet but Rodgers is 9-2 to be next to leave apparently

betfair has Graham Potter as 2/1 favourite. I think his name is just automatically linked to every job though. It's a bad time to be looking for a manager as we found out hence the interim

I think we'd end up going down the interim route too, no way Potter would leave before the summer
