Do you think there will be a Deal or No Deal?

  • Total voters
    194
  • Poll closed .
Which anyone with a brain already knew to be the case.

We'll have a wall of our own in this country soon and it'll be around London.

 in the comments section Corbyn is referred to as 'The High Sparrow'. Great nickname. I guess that makes May Cersei Lannister?

She is more of a selyse Baratheon ie she feels entitled for the crown despite having the means to actually claim it. Rees mogg would be the perfect Stannis.

I don't see how any MP could support the current "deal" without changes to the text of the agreement to remove the backstop. That won't happen.

There is a phrase I've heard on a few episodes of brexitcast which is giving some of the erg a ladder high enough to climb off their horse

Apparently a few of them far more concerned about winning the war (future deal being more WTO / Canada and getting a brexiteer to take over from may) than this particular battle... And if there was a codicil tagged on to the end that allowed Cox to change his legal advice that might be a big enough ladder to get some of them off their high horses.

It wouldn't involve changing the deal... Rather some fluff attached saying it won't be a permanent solution...

Sometimes I think the EU will be better off when it doesn’t have to deal with twats like this any more.

Our foreign secretary right there. We are an embarrassment.
In fact, how can you be that bad? I was in year fecking 9 when I learnt about General Tito.

What do you think the other times :D?

At this point it's become perfectly clear that a lot of tories don't give a flying feck about the EU, which is why they never care to actually read about anything (granted we all have idiots like that in every country, but usually they aren't ministers, usually). Whether it's the rules of the community or the history of it's member states, they just don't care. We'll miss the Brits as a society, but I don't think anyone will miss these tories politicians.

Their incompetence has been in Europe's spotlight these past few years. To think these people thought themselves capable of predicting the future of the EURO

Its utterly pathetic that someone that ignorant is the foreign secretary but surely theres someone working for him who can stop him making a total cnut of himself.

Yeah I don't get it either. Clearly he's incredibly dim, but surely he has a support team that prep him for these occasions?

No, not at the moment, all his Foreign Office minions have been seconded to working on a 'managed' No Deal...no need to worry then!

The same PM has appointed Hunt, Grayling, McVey and Johnson among others.

In her defence it's a pretty shallow pool of talent she has at her disposal and quite a few of the semi competent lot probably wouldn't take a job off her anyway as they couldn't sign up to the collective cabinet resoncibility

You left out Davies though... The man who negotiated the backstop and was then shocked at what was in it

I intentionally left our the brexit secretaries. Those are a special breed.

Someone needs to teach him about the wonder of google then.

Definitely a future Tory party leader.
Worrying thing is that there are actually so many worse candidates still, eg Johnson, Raab etc...

Michael Gove: “As I speak, there is no absolute guarantee that we would be able to continue to export food to the EU.”

“A huge proportion of our food exports to the EU go through Calais. As I speak, there are no border inspection posts at Calais. None.”
<- this was a quote that should also include that the EU has demanded 100% inspections on products

Only when the deer are in the headlights does reality start to set in. As many here would be about to guess, i think they should revoke Art. 50 and stay in the EU. The simple reality is, if you are going to leave, you need to put in about 10 years of work BEFORE triggering the article.

This display of arrogance and stupidity is now aiming to burn the country down to "trigger remainers" online. It's a farce.

Watching Gove on Marr.

I know he gets a pretty bad rap on here, but he's surprising honest in his responses. A politician who answers a straight question with a straight answer.

He's partly responsible for Brexit. He can piss the feck off. Any politician that supported Brexit despite knowing they were actively lying to the public should be held accountable and removed from Politics completely. This is a serious fecking issue and instead clowns like him and Boris still get to run around and interfere with our lives despite lying to our faces on a daily basis. Wake up Colin. feck sake.

Again, what in my post leads you to this post?

Maybe you didn't intend it, but that post looks like someone defending/approving of him. Claiming that despite his bad reputation he's an honest man. Not just me who thought that either.

No, I said that for a politician, he gives a straight answer. Marr asked him if food prices would increase after Brexit, and he said yes, without even flinching. Can you imagine any of the ERG doing that?

Again, he's been proven to be a liar. It really doesn't matter what he says or does at this point, it's all just to further his career. Politicians have strategies, all he's doing is trying to change his current reputation by answering some meaningless questions with the truth. Hoping that people will see him and go "we'll he's honest!", thats the whole point of going on tv shows, it's as much about public image as it is answering questions.

Will parliament let her?

I suppose in a way it matters little as the motions on the statement will be voted on anyway.

My worry is it's another stitch up where they're all voted down because May needs to be given more time (again). Entirely depends on the Tories.

She can delay as much as she wants, its going to be more or less the same deal as the one on the table in December. Its brinkmanship, if she put it out in December they would have had 3 months to cobble an alternative together. Its already been rejected by record numbers and her plan seems to be to put it the exact same thing forward a week before the deadline in the hopes parliament will swallow her shit sandwich.

Yes, that’s exactly her plan and it seems it has been all along (since the vote was originally put back to January). I didn’t think even she could be so shameless as to wait until just over 2 weeks before the exit date. I struggle to think of a comparable example of reckless, irresponsible “leadership” in any developed country. It’s real banana republic stuff.

Aye it has been a while as it's a win win for her really. Passes and she'll try and paint it as a victory and if she loses then she passes the buck onto those frustrating brexit.

I do wonder whether there's any element of her purposefully forcing parlaiments hand so it can be extended or revoked without her being blamed

She's more interested in her position & legacy than the good of the country.
