Dear, oh dear. That tweet hasn't aged well, has it?
He should never have called the referendum. What an awful legacy Cameron has left. His Prime Ministership has been so damaging.

No, he should never have put it in the manifesto and people shouldn't have voted for itDear, oh dear. That tweet hasn't aged well, has it?

Actually thinking about timelines...I wouldnt want to step into the PM role right now.
I think Davies fancies the job himself...Is this the next step in a series that brings JRM to the front of the queue to become PM? Davis resigning makes Boris and Gove look bad by their lack of association. No doubt they'll come out with the line that they were standing together with May for the good of the country, now is not the time for division but unity etc. etc. but I'm sure many will see their decision to toe the line as career-driven rather than one motivated by principles.
If you choose to ignore the only polling company that got the election right, which has them in the lead in their last poll, obviously.Don't worry, Corbyn still has you 5 points behind and always will.
Can we now all agree that this dream will never work and give it another, but this time "proper", vote so we can kill it off altogether?
There's still a good chance leave would win again.
Theresa May be like

Can't see it myself. Most leave voters I know are now aware of the ridiculousness of it all.
Do you really think so? Interesting. Most people that I speak to have either revised their decision now they have all the facts or (a much larger figure) didn't vote in the first place as they never thought it would go through – but definitely would now. There's still a good chance leave would win again.
We will have to see what most people you speak to think if the EU rejects May's soft brexit plans, or asks for so much money in return that no British government would ever pay it.Do you really think so? I don't know if this will actually happen, or what the public reaction will be if it does, but neither does anyone else.

After giving it a thought last night, I'm beginning to think another referendum or GE is inevitable. May's plan is not going to get through parliament. A harder brexit plan would also never see the light of day. If this plan doesn't get through parliament as is looking likely, she's finished.
Davis resignation has increased the chances of a no deal. Imagine she makes more concessions?
.................................Twat!
Here is a thought...given the age demographics isn't it possible that a chunk of leavers are now dead and their grand kids fired up enough to vote remain? (I recall seeing the youth vote was pro remain but sat on their hands and stayed home like a bunch of numpties.)
Even after all the uncertainty and chaos around the Government there are still people banging on about protecting our borders. Leave will surely pull some lie out of their arse again to convince people.
We haven't reached that point yet. There is a chance we will when no brexit bill can pass through parliament.Who is actually advocating a 2nd referendum? May isn't, her cabinet isn't, much of the Tory party doesn't seem to be, Corbyn isn't. Maybe a GE will be called with the promise of a 2nd referendum from either side but I don't think they will do that. A GE seems the more likely option but with two pro-Brexit candidates from the two major parties.
I simply refuse to believe it's got to the point where the only choice is "Would you like your BREXIT soft or hard sir?".After giving it a thought last night, I'm beginning to think another referendum or GE is inevitable. If anything I'd say the leaver's will be more determined to get out than ever. what's changed from their point of view only the EU fecking the UK around (according to brexiteer's, that is) ?I guess i'm just hopeful that there will be less people who actually believe them.
Governments are chickens who can't make tough decisions. If there is another GE or referendum, I don't expect No Brexit to be on the table.I simply refuse to believe it's got to the point where the only choice is "Would you like your BREXIT soft or hard sir?".
No BREXIT has to be thrown back into the mix … surely?
BTW: This is me agreeing with you!
That's my point and why I think the government will go back to the people. The hard brexiteers would also have the same problem if they took over government. If one cabinet member resigns you have no authority.
What about if a dozen or more resign?
You can't just hold a referendum and forget it happened. What's the point of another referendum? Just admit it's not gone to plan and as such cannot be followed through with

Sad to say but the best chance of a soft brexit is actually May retaining as much power as possible. What a fecked up situation.
